GABRIEL’S POV

My gun was still pointed at him as he took a step forward.

“One more step, and I’ll put a bullet between your f*cking eyes.” Staring narrowly, I read every twitch his body made, “Who the hell are you?” I roared, my voice echoing in the building.

He hesitated for a beat. Next, I saw his hand creeping towards his pocket and I clicked the gun as a warning, my gaze unwavering on him.

All at once, he pulled out a small pouch and flung it towards me, and it landed at my feet.

KIERA’S POVI guess Emilia forgot her manners wherever the f*ck she came from, probably packed them in a box labeled “irrelevant” and tossed it into the Atlantic, because what full-grown woman, with thirty-two adult teeth and, I assume, a functioning brain, walks into someone else’s room without knocking? Her sudden arrival was like a thunderclap on a clear day, but it eased the storm between me and Gabriel. Maybe I should’ve been grateful. Whatever her intentions, she saved me from that unbearable look in Gabriel’s eyes. But was I grateful? Not exactly.“Well, her timing’s as sharp as her cheekbones,” I muttered inwardly, folding my arms as she leaned against the doorframe with a smirk that made me want to grab a chair and throw it."Am I interrupting something?" Emilia asked, her hand resting on her hips as a sly smile danced on her lips.Gabriel straightened his posture, a muscle in his jaw twitching to life. He opened his mouth to speak, but I beat him to it."No, Emilia," I said,

  • A Contract For Revenge   NINETY THREE

GABRIEL’S POVHer question landed like a blow I hadn’t braced for, sucking the air out of my lungs. I was silent and at loss for words not because I didn’t know what to say but because I was a bit disappointed.I turned to face Kiera fully, “No,” I said firmly, my voice steady. She tilted her head, her lips curving into a sardonic smile, “No?” She echoed, her tone light but cutting. “You don’t sound so sure, Gabriel.”I tightened my fists, the veins in my arms taut as I fought to keep my composure. Her defiance was infuriating, but it was also intoxicating.“Kiera,” I said, my voice dropping an octave, commanding her attention. I stepped forward, closing the distance she always seemed determined to create, “You think this is some kind of game?”She lifted her chin, her posture stiff, “Isn’t it?”The corner of my mouth twitched. She was pushing, testing the limits of my restraint, and I'd be damned if I let her use this as an excuse to distant herself from me. I reached out and grasped

  • A Contract For Revenge   NINETY TWO

KIERA’S POVWas it just me, or did someone else want to hurl Emilia straight into a volcano?Who the actual fuck does she think she is?I knew the moment I saw her waltz in, with her unbearable confidence, that something was off.Her name slid around in my head like oil in a frying pan, sizzling, hissing, and irritating. She laughed too loudly, like a hyena that drank too much champagne, flaunted her curves in that body-hugging red dress, and leaned into Gabriel like they shared some inside joke I wasn’t invited to? It made my skin itch. She was beautiful. Ugh. Of course, she was. With her full lips, legs for days, curves sculpted by the gods. But I could see it, the performance, the manipulation, the slow, venomous charm underneath it all. Was I being paranoid? Not at all, and I wasn't just making these up because I felt insanely jealous. But ofcourse, I was... so freaking jealous. No point lying to myself. I need to get some rest, Abuela… I’m totally worn out,” I said, letting out

  • A Contract For Revenge   NINETY-ONE

ELISE’S POVThe crash from downstairs vibrated through the floorboards and up the soles of my feet, and my head whipped around so fast I felt a twinge in my neck, my eyes locking onto Miguel's rigid back."Stay put," he commanded, his tone leaving zero room for debate as he reached for his discarded pants, but I was already moving toward the door, my curiosity outweighing his authority.“Elise!” He growled, pulling up his pants in one swift motion as he stalked after me.We reached the staircase together, and my eyes tripled in size as I saw Freya, crumpled at the bottom of the stairs, her face pale as moonlight. The staff circled her, frozen in panic, their hushed whispers filling the air like the buzz of bees.Miguel’s entire demeanor shifted. He went from simmering frustration to cold, calculating focus. Without a word, he pushed past me and descended the stairs two at a time. I followed, my heart racing as unease clawed at me.“What the hell happened?” His voice was sharp, cutting

MIGUEL’S POVThe road stretched endlessly before me, its smooth asphalt glowing faintly in the pale morning sun. The car’s engine hummed steadily, but inside my head, the roar of yesterday’s chaos hadn’t subsided. I tightened my grip on the steering wheel, the leather creaking under my fingers as I replayed the events of the last 24 hours. It had started like any other day—business meetings, numbers, the usual grind. Then Diego’s frantic call interrupted everything: "Boss, the warehouse is on fire!" I hadn’t even let him finish before slamming the phone down and rushing out of the boardroom.By the time I arrived, flames had consumed the warehouse’s entrance. My heart pounded in tandem with the crackling inferno as I directed more men to douse the fire. Thankfully, the damage wasn’t as severe as it should’ve been. Still, the stench of smoke and burned wood clung to me like a second skin. After the fire was extinguished, I gathered my men, my glare sharp enough to cut steel.“What the h

  • A Contract For Revenge   EIGHTY-NINE

ABUELA’S POVThe first thing I became aware of was the dull, insistent throbbing in my head, followed by the faint murmur of voices, hushed yet urgent. My body felt like it had been weighed down with stones, each limb sluggish and aching. A soft groan escaped my lips as a wave of confusion clouded my thoughts. What on earth had happened to me?Memories wavered at the edge of my consciousness, fragmented and disjointed. One moment, I had been walking to my room, and then, I felt a sharp, searing pain, like a knife driving into my temple. After that, there was only darkness. My eyelids felt impossibly heavy, but I forced them open, blinking against the golden light spilling through the curtains. The world came into focus in a haze of soft morning glow, and the first thing I saw were two pairs of eyes, filled with an emotion I couldn’t quite place.Kiera’s gaze shimmered with unshed tears, her lips parted as if she had been mid-prayer. While Gabriel’s expression was darker, stormier, his

ELISE’S POVI had just finished having lunch, and I casually strolled to the bedroom, trying to shake off the feeling of emptiness that lingered.
