KIERA’S POV

I opened my mouth and snapped it shut, the words tangling in my throat. I had the response at the tip of my tongue, yet his question was totally unexpected.

I knew he was into me, but not to this point, “For the rest of our lives?” That’s really a long time of commitment, and I needed to make sure he knew what he was getting himself into. If this was just a fleeting infatuation, I wouldn’t want him to commit to me and regret it in the future.

“F*ck! I knew you wouldn’t want that. I k

GABRIEL’S POVThe night air was warm, but the tension in my chest was colder than frostbite. My jaw clenched as I cornered Emilia near the buffet table, her smirk already lighting a fire in my gut."Do you think this is a game, Emilia?" I hissed, keeping my voice low enough to avoid causing a scene, "What were you thinking showing Kiera that text?"Her perfectly plucked brow arched, and she rested her hand on her hips, as if this was some casual chat about the weather, “Oh, Gabriel, don’t be so dramatic. I was simply reminding her where you and I stand.”“Where we stand?” My voice was a growl now, “We don’t stand anywhere. Whatever this is in your head, it’s over. Long over. Kiera means a lot to me, and I’m warning you, stay away from her!”Her lips twisted into a wicked smile, and her eyes gleamed like a predator who was about to devour her prey, “A warning? Is that supposed to scare me?” She purred, stepping closer. My fists clenched at my sides, “You don’t want to test me on this.”

KIERA’S POVThe backyard was a scene straight out of a lifestyle magazine, the kind that made you feel out of place even when you were supposed to belong. Strings of warm golden lights crisscrossed the vast open space, casting a dreamy glow over the manicured lawn. The pool shimmered under the soft lights, reflecting the flickering candles scattered around its edge. There were about ten people milling about, glasses of champagne in hand, laughter and soft chatter blending with the slow, romantic song drifting through hidden speakers. A long buffet table stood to the side, adorned with an assortment of decadent dishes, from fresh seafood towers to intricately decorated desserts, and enough expensive liquor to drown an army.Abuela’s absence was notable, though her reason had been clear: “This is for you young ones. I’m too old for all this.” That left me here, navigating this sea of unfamiliar faces and unspoken tensions on my own.I adjusted the deep emerald gown that clung to my curv

  • A Contract For Revenge   NINETY FIVE

KIERA’S POVI stormed out of Emilia’s room, my heart pounding so loudly it drowned out every coherent thought in my head. My fists clenched as I marched through the hallway, each step a hammering echo of rage and humiliation. How dare she? How dare he? How dare both of them?My cheeks burned, a mix of fury and embarrassment coursing through me. The nerve of Gabriel, playing me for a fool while his ex strutted around here with her smug little smirk.I shoved the door to our room open with a force that made the hinges creak, and it slammed shut behind me with a deafening bang. Gabriel, lounging casually on the bed, looked up from his book, one brow arched in curiosity. He was so relaxed and it was infuriating."Are you done helping Emilia?" He asked, his tone neutral as he set the book aside.I let out a derisive laugh, rolling my eyes so hard it felt like they might get stuck, “I guess you meant to say, am I done helping your lover?”Gabriel’s expression shifted, confusion knitting his

  • A Contract For Revenge   NINETY FOUR

KIERA’S POVI guess Emilia forgot her manners wherever the f*ck she came from, probably packed them in a box labeled “irrelevant” and tossed it into the Atlantic, because what full-grown woman, with thirty-two adult teeth and, I assume, a functioning brain, walks into someone else’s room without knocking? Her sudden arrival was like a thunderclap on a clear day, but it eased the storm between me and Gabriel. Maybe I should’ve been grateful. Whatever her intentions, she saved me from that unbearable look in Gabriel’s eyes. But was I grateful? Not exactly.“Well, her timing’s as sharp as her cheekbones,” I muttered inwardly, folding my arms as she leaned against the doorframe with a smirk that made me want to grab a chair and throw it."Am I interrupting something?" Emilia asked, her hand resting on her hips as a sly smile danced on her lips.Gabriel straightened his posture, a muscle in his jaw twitching to life. He opened his mouth to speak, but I beat him to it."No, Emilia," I said,

GABRIEL’S POVHer question landed like a blow I hadn’t braced for, sucking the air out of my lungs. I was silent and at loss for words not because I didn’t know what to say but because I was a bit disappointed.I turned to face Kiera fully, “No,” I said firmly, my voice steady. She tilted her head, her lips curving into a sardonic smile, “No?” She echoed, her tone light but cutting. “You don’t sound so sure, Gabriel.”I tightened my fists, the veins in my arms taut as I fought to keep my composure. Her defiance was infuriating, but it was also intoxicating.“Kiera,” I said, my voice dropping an octave, commanding her attention. I stepped forward, closing the distance she always seemed determined to create, “You think this is some kind of game?”She lifted her chin, her posture stiff, “Isn’t it?”The corner of my mouth twitched. She was pushing, testing the limits of my restraint, and I'd be damned if I let her use this as an excuse to distant herself from me. I reached out and grasped

  • A Contract For Revenge   NINETY TWO

KIERA’S POVWas it just me, or did someone else want to hurl Emilia straight into a volcano?Who the actual fuck does she think she is?I knew the moment I saw her waltz in, with her unbearable confidence, that something was off.Her name slid around in my head like oil in a frying pan, sizzling, hissing, and irritating. She laughed too loudly, like a hyena that drank too much champagne, flaunted her curves in that body-hugging red dress, and leaned into Gabriel like they shared some inside joke I wasn’t invited to? It made my skin itch. She was beautiful. Ugh. Of course, she was. With her full lips, legs for days, curves sculpted by the gods. But I could see it, the performance, the manipulation, the slow, venomous charm underneath it all. Was I being paranoid? Not at all, and I wasn't just making these up because I felt insanely jealous. But ofcourse, I was... so freaking jealous. No point lying to myself. I need to get some rest, Abuela… I’m totally worn out,” I said, letting out

DAMIEN’S POV“Are you really considering going to spend the weekend with Gabriel at Abuela’s place?” I demanded, my voice barely concealing the simmering fury bubbling beneath the surface.“What would you have me do?” Kiera threw back, clearly frustrated.“Well, you could have come up with anything. Yo
