Chapter Thirty-four: A Great Misunderstanding.

"Brient."

Silence.

"She isn't Orenda."

Silence.

"And, Brient, I'm coming back today."

Silence.

"Just drop it. It won't work out."

She threw the phone in her hand to the bed without waiting for the person at the other end to say any more words. Helia's eyes were filled with tears. He had not seen her, but she had heard everything he said, and after he had spoken, she walked away without him noticing.

"I can't believe I almost trusted a wolf," she said as she fell to the bed beside her full bag.

She had thought she had misunderstood him, but her instincts turned out to be right.

"Damn it," she cursed softly. He had been feigning concern all the while. He was only acting as a savior whenever she was in trouble just to deceive her.

"I still can't believe our mate can do this to us," she heard Nalea sad and Helia smiled sadly.

"You better believe it. He had almost deceived us."

With the back of her palms, she wiped off the tears on her face and stood from the bed. She picked up the bag on
