Chapter Thirty-five: Was That Nyx?

On the weekend, Selene and Brient decided to have a picnic with Rendall and Helia in a park near their house. In their words, ‘it will help ease the tension that had ensued after Rendall and Helia had returned from Ocean Ville’.

Brient and Selene watched Helia and Rendall give each other the stink eye as they sat opposite each other on the mat, and they both realized that the picnic was not working.

"Come on, the both of you should stop. I baked cookies," Selene said, pointing to the basket between them. "There are delicious cupcakes in the basket too. Everyone should eat and be jolly. There shouldn't be any malice."
