Hephzibah's POV

“I want you to push a good narrative about me. Tell everyone you saw it with your own eyes—how Newton forced me to bring that alcohol to the party. I mean, it's the best shot,” he said, admiring himself in the mirror beside him.

“Fine. I’ll push the narrative,” I said sharply, feeling a judah against my own stepbrother.

“Wait, I’m not done yet, Miss Glasses,” he added, pulling me back.

“I think I deserve a date, you know, as additional compensation.” He leaned in, his mouth drew close to mine.

I could never imagine myself going on a date with my worst enemy.

Slap

He held his cheek, his eyes so red. “Did you just slap me?” he asked angrily, his face so red.

“I can push any narrative for you,” I said coldly, staring at his disgusting lips, “but on a date with you? I would rather die and rot in hell.”

He smiled. “You might be the one begging on your knees to date me,” he chuckled.

“Shut up, moron,” I warned and walked out of the locker room, heading straight to the school library.

I couldn’t believe I’d let Zed blackmail me so easily—just to cover up my weird fantasies toward Newton and identity

Stepping quickly from the locker room, I glanced around the back of the cafeteria and eyes caught something that I never imagined.

My stepbrother—Newton was with my BULLY in class.

The intimacy was intense. Anger boiled inside me, the sight of both of them dug a hole in my chest

Kate Wells.

I moved closer to warn my stepbrother against her, to expose all the bullies I get from her in class.

“Babe, you’re so damn sexy,” he whispered into her ear, unaware I was eavesdropping to their conversation.

“Slowly, Newton,” she moaned softly, laughing so hard. Then I cleared my throat as a distraction.

They broke apart when they acknowledged my presence.

I paused for a moment, feeling so uncomfortable as her eyes gaze at mine.

“Hephzibah,” Newton said, shocked. “What are you doing here?” His tone was hard.

“Kate,” I muttered bitterly.

“Don't tell me that you have come here with your unnecessary complaints about her?” Newton asked, looking so confused.

“You knew all these while?” I asked angrily

“Hello, miss nerd,” she smiled back, I gave out a heavy sigh. bitting my fingers furisoly.

“Hephzibah and I don't get along in class. She always humiliates me in class.I tried to make things better between us, but it gets worse everyday.” she began with her lies.

“Liar!!!” I screamed aloud. My eyes filled with tears as she fabricated everything.

“She refused to be my friend. The hate was just too much,” Kate continued, still shedding crocodile tears.

“That’s not true, Newton! She’s lying!” I protested, but he couldn’t listen.

“Newton, she is the bully I used to have nightmares about on campus,” I tried to explain, pleading, “You have to believe me.”

“Enough, Hephzibah!” he warned.

“Can’t you be nice for once? You act all innocent, like a child who avoids her mistakes and yet...,” he yelled.

“I… I…” I stammered, but he stopped me.

“Can you just stop causing chaos everywhere you go?” he said softly.

Because of Kate, I was being labeled a troublemaker again.

“Kate’s been nice to everyone since she got to campus. You’ve just been uncomfortable ever since” he continued.

“But she’s the one fabricating lies!” I screamed

“I’ve heard enough. Just go home. Leave us alone,” he said coldly.

“Newton…” I tried to explain. But he turned away.

I tried to hold myself together, and walked away from them, but Kate deliberately dragged my school bag causing me to trip and fall right into a small mud.

Students gathered around as my bag opened; my books and secret diaries scattering everywhere

Worse than the MacBook

I bent down to gather the pieces before someone picked it up, to read through but it was too late.

I looked up—it was Kate.

“Oh, god. Not in front of Newton,” my thought.

“Oh my, whenever I see him with that long stick, I want to hold his dick just like he did perfectly leading to my pussy...” she began to read.

Everyone screamed.

“Please stop. It’s private!” I cried, trying to grab the paper, but she dodged it, as I fell into a small mud again.

I looked at Newton, but he did nothing. Just watching

I guess he also want to know more about those fantasies too. He had caught me writing this in the reading room—but I’d always flipped the pages quickly

“Those long sticks were my pleasure at night,” she continued,

“Hold on,” she paused.

“Long stick?” She asked.  “Hephzibah, who’s that hockey player you're writing about?” She looked at Newton. I knew my secret was about to be explode

“Don’t tell me you have lustful thoughts for your stepbrother!” she exclaimed. Everyone murmured.

I was dumb that moment.

“Tell them it’s not true!” Newton said, his eyes read disappointed.

“I…” I stammered but no words were coming.

“She thinks she’s good enough for him,” one of the students scoffed.

“Our star hockey player is being lusted over by his stepsister.” His team member said.

“So forbidden,” another student muttered.

“I’d be embarrassed if my stepsister fantasized about me like that,” Newton’s best friend, Jason laughed.

“Look at her,” he continued. “Hephzibah would rather crawl in lust than fall in love with a normal guy on campus.”

I felt ashamed, Newton's face was cold , disappointed. I guess he'd never talk to me ever again even in the house.

“Hephzibah,” Newton called softly. Clearing his throat.

“Were you really having those fantasies about me?” he asked again but I couldn’t say a word.

All I wanted was to scream so loud.

“Newton’s not the only player who has a long thick in the hockey game,” a voice from the crowd said suddenly.

Everyone turned in that direction.

Zed walked in, took the paper from Kate’s hand, and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. “The story’s about me,” he said clearly.

I paused.

“What?” Newton asked, so confused.

Zed pulled me closer, adjusting my spectacles on my face.

“I think it’s time you told them, right?” he whispered, winking at me.

“Why would Hephzibah write dirty fantasies about you?” Newton smiled coldly.

Zed cleared his throat. “Because…” he wiped the dirt on my dress.

“You have not heard yet,?” He responded.

“She's my girlfriend,” he announced. I too was shocked as our eyes gaze at each other

“What?” Newton screamed

Zed’s POVShe stood, her eyes unreadable. Still caught between disbelief. I waved a hand in front of her face.“Hello?”She blinked. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have judged you like that… about your job. I thought you were—” She paused, shook her head, and turned away to reposition the flower vase. I took a breath, her silence felt heavier in my chest. “When I said I was a worker here, I meant this shop.” I explained.“It’s my mother’s. My grandparents left it to her after my dad walked out and never came back.” Those words were heavier than I thought, swallowed hard, refusing to let the emotion weigh me down “She hasn’t been herself since. This shop is the only thing that keeps her tied to him.” I continued. “She can’t work anywhere else… health problems.”I paced around, wiped the dust on the counter. “So, yeah, I’ve been supporting myself all these years. We have workers, but they don’t come on Saturdays. I stay here till evening, then head to my night shift.”Her eyes were fixed on

"I won't allow you to do that. And she won't be apologizing," he fired back."What?" Newton screamed."Remember, this is my house, not your house. I want you to leave this minute and never interfere," Newton uttered sharply, but Zed stood watching."Zed, don't make it difficult for her," he pointed at him. My eyes gazed at Zed, pleading never to leave me here alone."Let me apologize on her behalf. And also help you to treat those wounds," he looked at Kate. She took a deep sigh, still

"She was so selfish and manipulative, lured my father to her side even when my mum was in the sickbed; in coma," he said angrily."Just the way you like me. You’re trying every means to get to my face, just like your mum!" he yelled bitterly.I was dumbfounded. "What do you mean that I like you, Newton?!" I asked, fear gripped me, dumbfounded by his words."You think I’m not aware of those fantasies you wrote about me, how you want me so bad in your p***y?" he said, stepping toward me as I moved back. Chapter 11Hephizbah's POV"We just started dating a few days ago, and she's yet to be comfortable kissing me in public. She hasn't kissed anyone in her entire life," Zed said sharply while I remained calm."There's no way we can do that here or compete with those who have been in a relationship for a month," I replied, then backed off from the challenge."It's okay, Hephzibah. There's no need for you two to explain all that," Kate laughed. Newton glanced at her, who looked confused."It must be weird for you to share that intimacy with your boyfriend while your brother watches," she chuckled, and everyone turned their gaze toward Newton."Please, I’m her step-brother. I don't care who she meddles around with or sleeps with—she's not my blood sister," Newton said, his voice mean and sharp. His words hit deep into my chest. • A DEAL WITH MY HOCKEY PLAYBOY   Truth

Hephizbah’s POVI felt relieved a bit that he didn’t ask me about those secret fantasies—whether they were true or not but why would he ask me that lame question? I rolled my eyes. Maybe he was curious… or jealous of Zed. But I wasn’t going to answer that.I picked up the red wine, wanting to pour it into my rubber cup, but a hand stopped me.Zed.I tried to remove his hand, but he shook his head.“No, I need you to answer those questions, my girlfriend,” he said, taking the red wine and the cup from me.At this time, I was speechless, not knowing what to reply. I had never admired him, not even in my dreams. It was a hard question to answer.“Hands, Newton… and how he handles the long brown hockey stick,” I finally said, bowing my head.“Oh yeah, I know I'm so perfect with my hands on that hockey stick.” Zed smiled from chin to chin. He knew it was all a lie—I never admired his hockey stick but Newton’s.“False,” the detector said out loud.“She’s lying!” Frank pointed at me, laugh
