My limbs went numb. I never imagined that things would end like this.

Julian really wanted a divorce. I felt my heart clench as though a giant hand was wrapped tightly around it.

Memories of Julian's kindness kept flashing through my mind.

There were times when he would kneel to tie my shoes. With him around, I never had to carry anything. Whenever I wanted something to eat, he would drop whatever he was doing and take me out. At home, I never had to lift a finger.

I was jealous when Finneas treated his wife well, yet I had ignored Julian's quiet love that had always been with me.

Regret hit me hard. I called him over and over, but the line never connected.

When my parents heard about what happened, they came to see me. I thought they would try to talk to Julian for me, but they sided with him instead.
