Dominic

A surge of fury coursed through my body, sending my mind into overdrive. The wish to confront Julia Mitchell was all I could think of. I hadn’t expected her to leave since she had no money to repay me ever! Then where did she get so much money from? Had she sold herself to the highest bidder in my absence? The thought alone brought me all the way to her apartment.

After Kimberly’s betrayal, I had lost faith in women and their double standards. How could I think Julia would be any different? It was good I hadn’t given in to Diego’s crazy demand. Julia Mitchell wasn’t fit to be his mom. She was of the same quality as Kimberly.

It was good that I came here. Julia’s flatmate’s remark about an earlier male visitor confirmed my suspicions. It made my blood boil, and I stormed towards her, ignoring the other women glaring daggers at me. I was too preoccupied with teaching Julia a lesson to notice them.

“You’re coming with me, Julia.” I grabbed her arm to take her home with me. How

  • A Deal With The Devil   Book 3: Chapter Ten  - How To Get Her Out Of My System?

Dominic “Why do you want me to stay with you, Mr. Sylvester?” She gave me a confused look. It was quite natural after the way I manhandled her in front of her flatmates. In fact, I had closed all her avenues of going back to the apartment. I could sense her embarrassment. Strangely, it didn’t make me feel guilty. I was glad she had no other place to go! I wasn’t an evil man. Then why was I being a tool with her? “Diego is giving my family a difficult time. He has locked himself in his room. He even refused to see me when I returned from work. So..” I couldn’t say the rest. I wanted her to stay with us for a few days until we both could get her out of our system for good. “So you wanted to make amends to him? But wouldn’t it encourage him?” She looked confused. I frowned, not liking her interrogation. I couldn’t tell her my real reason. “A few days won’t matter. It will make him realize how illogical his expectations are.” She turned away, looking hurt. Well, I had been honest abo

  • A Deal With The Devil   Book 3: Chapter Eight – Fulfilling My Promise

Julietta / Julia“Please, Dad. I don’t want to go back home. I like it here.” Diego was almost in tears, making it difficult for Mr. Sylvester to leave for work. Ever since we returned to the penthouse, and he had announced his plans, Diego was at war with him. I watched helplessly. Should I intervene and put some sense into Diego, like I had promised his father? What if he took offense? “I’m getting late for work, Diego.” He sounded annoyed as he refused to even glance my way. Was I at fault here? I hadn’t asked him to shelter me. “You can go, Dad. I’ll stay with Aunt Julia. Anyway, no one’s there at home right now. What will I do there all by myself? Please, Dad.” Mr. Sylvester gave me an accusatory look. “Don’t just stand there. Talk to him. Make him see sense,” he muttered angrily at me. I stuttered, not knowing what to say. “Umm, you must listen to your father, Diego. I’ll be leaving soon.” Diego gaped at me, feeling let down. “Are you leaving forever, Aunt Julia?” He blink

Julietta / JuliaAfter breakfast, Mr. Sylvester accompanied me to Mr. Hayes’ house and paid him all his dues. I had no say in the matter. All the while, I stood like a truant schoolgirl watching them discuss me and my issues. Later, I walked into my apartment in a dazed state. “I can stay here now. Thank you for clearing the debt, Mr. Sylvester.” I smiled with relief, but it was short-lived. “No. You won’t live in this matchbox. Pack up whatever you have.” I rushed inside in a state of confusion. “I’m used to living in a matchbox. Really!” But he wasn’t listening. “Jesus!” he muttered as he made his way through Fiona’s mess in the living area. She was our fifth flatmate who slept in the living room. “How many of you live here?” “Umm, five.” I walked into the cramped bedroom I used to share with Stella. “You can wait outside, Mr. Sylvester.” “Why? What do you want to hide? Do you share your bedroom with a guy?” He scowled at me, making my jaw drop. “No. We were five girls sharin

DominicI punched in the security code and unlocked the door of my bachelor pad. It had been almost a year since I had been here. I watched Julia’s reaction to the luxurious penthouse in one of the iconic residential condominiums of Battery Park, Manhattan. Surprisingly, she showed no emotion as she walked in as if she were used to living a life of luxury. But I had seen the building where she lived. It was a budget hostel in one of the worst neighborhoods of Brooklyn.“Where do I keep Aunt Julia’s luggage, Dad?” Diego’s voice brought me out of my thoughts, and I realized I had been staring at Julia all this time.“Guest bedroom.” I walked over to my bedroom, letting them figure it out. A strange jealousy gripped my heart at seeing Diego’s interaction with Julia. How could he warm up to her so quickly? We hardly knew her. She could be a fraudster waiting to rob us. Just because she was Brynne and Daniella’s friend, didn’t mean she could be trusted.I had to talk to Diego. Maybe he was

Julietta / Julia“Where do you live, Aunt Julia?” Diego asked from the backseat. He was the most adorable boy I had ever met - kind, curious, mischievous, yet a thorough gentleman when he wanted to be one. “66 West St, Brooklyn. But you can drop me at the Greenpoint Avenue crossing.” I didn’t dare to glance at his smoking-hot father beside me. His behavior annoyed me so much, I had no wish to acknowledge his existence. Although he was behind the steering wheel, I was happy to give him the silent treatment and interact only with Diego. It had the desired effect of shutting him up in front of his son. “Oh, that’s not a problem at all. We’ll drop you at West St. Right, Dad?” I glanced at his dad to see the grim look on his face. A brief nod was all he conceded. “Umm, you can drop me off at Manhattan as well. I’ll take the subway or walk.” I watched Mr. Sylvester’s jaw clench at my question. Well, he brought it on himself. I hadn’t begged him to drop me home. “I wouldn’t want you to
