With the last of her strength and driven by desperation, Clara swung the end of the iron lug wrench directly into the creature’s temple. The zombie’s skull was knocked sideways as it let out a hoarse groan, its hand reaching wildly toward Clara’s clothes. Clara gave it no chance to recover. She struck the iron wrench against its head again, brutally, until the creature’s body went limp and lifeless, hanging motionlessly from the car window frame. Its head had been crushed by Clara’s blows.

“How could there be no word from our team? They should have finished the mission and returned to the base by now!” he shouted.Colonel John Hopper was furious when he learned that two of the ten special forces personnel had not yet returned. The man had been waiting for two of his men, Stone and Taylor. The two military personnel had left with a platoon, along with one military truck and a patrol jeep.Instead of receiving news from his two men, Hopper received another report that left him curious.“What? The city is going to be sealed off?” Hopper stared at a screen. On it, he could see people running and screaming in panic. The footage had been taken from a helicopter flying low over the city. “Can someone explain what is actually happening? Is NorthVale City being shut down?” Hopper looked at his men one by one.“We just received word that the city has been hit by an outbreak.”“An outbreak?” Hopper frowned when he heard that word. He turned his attention back to the television bro

“Dad, what are we going to do?” Vivian whimpered anxiously.Right before her eyes, Vivian witnessed a brutal massacre carried out by a group of infected humans.“Stay behind me, Vivian!” Victor snapped as he dragged his daughter backward.Piercing screams filled the air of the airport’s arrival terminal. A group of infected humans tore into the throat of a security officer, allowing fresh blood to spray across the glass wall. The horrifying sight made Vivian’s stomach churn violently. The memories of her argument with Jason and the hatred she had felt suddenly seemed meaningless in the face of such a brutal massacre.“D-Dad, this place isn’t safe anymore!” Vivian screamed in a trembling voice, tears of panic beginning to stream down her cheeks.“The emergency exit is on the right, hurry!” Victor shouted, pointing toward a staff corridor with its door hanging open.“GROAAARGH!”Two blood-soaked undead suddenly turned around, detecting Victor’s shout. Its head had been crushed by Clara’s blows.Clara’s breathing came in ragged gasps, her hands covered in dark reddish-black blood trembling violently as she released the iron lug wrench.“I have to get out... right now,” Clara hissed in panic, casting aside her fear when she heard another roar beginning to echo from outside the garage. “Yes, that’s right. I have to get out of here immediately. I don’t want to die pointlessly in this place. I have to find a hospital to treat my wounds.” Clara knew very well that this was her home, but her home

Vivian and Victor did not yet know that their city was on the verge of becoming a dead city. They had just returned from abroad, where Victor had taken Vivian on a vacation to help her calm down. After the intense argument between Vivian and Jason, the incident had nearly driven Vivian into despair. As a father, Victor could not bear to see his daughter lose herself because of the collapse of Cole Industries’ success. On top of that, the business partnership they were planning with Jason was also predicted to suffer losses. As the plane began to land, Victor noticed something strange. Slowly but surely, the plane came to a stop. As the passengers began leaving the plane one by one, Vivian tried to speak to Victor, but he ignored her. Victor himself was busy with his phone. “Strange, there’s no signal here,” Victor muttered as he raised his phone into the air. He tried to find a signal because he wanted to contact his assistant. Vivian did the same. She intended to contact Jason and

Tate stared at Alice for a long time. There were many questions in his mind. However, Tate realized that it was not the right time to ask Alice those questions."Yes. And there is a former soldier named Jade there right now," Alice said firmly. "We have to get there before that place is completely overrun by the escaped zombies!"GRAAARGH!The roar of a massive horde echoed from the direction of the apartment's main corridor. Dozens of infected people began flooding into the parking area, drawn by the roar of the jeep's engine and the sound of gunfire."Get in the car now!" Tate ordered as he pushed Alice into the vehicle.CRASH!Before Alice's fingers could touch the car door handle, the first wave of infected bodies slammed into the vehicle's rear side. The weight of more than a dozen walking corpses caused the two-ton jeep to shake violently. “Forgive me, Dania...” Tate whispered, his chest tight with grief and sorrow. The man discarded the empty magazine, replaced it with a fresh one, then rushed into the garage through the damaged connecting door. His two luxurious sports cars were parked there, but Tate chose the twin-engine jeep with steel armor protecting its front. Another former guard smashed the side window of the garage, trying to reach Tate’s neck with his blackened fingers. Without wasting any time, Tate leaped into the jeep’s cabin, pressed the engine start button, and slammed his foot onto the accelerator. ROAAAR! The V8 engine roared fiercely. Tate yanked the steering wheel, crashing through the half-open steel garage door until it tore free from its hinges. The jeep’s massive wheels ran over two infected figures that tried to leap onto the hood, sending their bodies tumbling onto the asphalt. Tate’s jeep sped through the darkness of NorthVale. Along the way, the city he lived in had been transformed int
