Three

Unugwa's POV

My new driver dropped me at the School's parking lot. I took a step forward and looked back at another car that just drove in. That quiet girl in my class came out, she saw me, gave me a glare then closed the door. I stood still to see her next reaction, she passed right in front of me with her bag and books clutched to her chest. I cracked, she must be the school witch

I then began to walk further. I heard someone running and calling my name. I looked back and saw Loretta running to me 

I smiled at her, she's really nice. She kept me company yesterday and kept showing me around. Today, she promised she was going to tell me about the significant people in the school and I'm looking forward to that, just to know who is who and how to act towards them 

She got in front of me panting 

Lorette : good... good morning 

I smiled and brought out a bottle of water from my lunch bag, I still carry food to school because I enjoy my mom's food more than any other. 

I handed the bottle to her 

Me: good morning 

Loretta: oh thank you so much 

She took the bottle and took down a gulp

Me: I love your hairstyle 

She was wearing a French braid with her natural hair, I always admired the style but too bad I can't do it. My hair isn't that long 

Loretta: thanks. Ohh I saw you had a little encounter with Agnes. The mean girl

Me: the short girl 

She nodded and we began to walk towards the school 

Loretta : she's the meanest and deadliest girl in this school. She doesn't have any friends and she hardly talks ,whenever she talks then she's nagging 

Me: that's awful

Lorette : and it's so weird that she has a crush on Daniel 

Me: who's Daniel? 

Loretta: he's the... 

She was cut short by a group of female junior students who screamed. We looked at their direction and they were pointing at me. They ran to me

Girl1: uh hiii. I'm Nuella 

Girl2: I'm Lucia 

Girl3: I'm Suzan 

Girl1: please we wanna have a selfie with you.. Please 

Me: uhn sure.. You can 

Girl2: yay! 

They gathered round me and we took a selfie together, then each girl took a turn to snap with me 

Girl3: gosh I'm so happy, it's my first time seeing a black person. Wow, you're so different. Your skin is so different 

Me: uh thank you.... 

I smiled 

Girls: bye... 

They happily went away 

Loretta : wow, they love you 

Me: I never knew black people were so appreciated here

Loretta: come on, let's get to class 

She held my hand and we hurried in, I could sight students looking at me from all directions. And it's awkward 

Loretta: oh my gosh 

Me: what? 

Loretta: it's Paula, she owes me. I'm coming... 

She ran off 

Me: wait... 

She didn't hear me, she went off to meet the girl 

Me: uh I'll just wait for her in class 

I turned around and took a step without even looking, I bumped into a guy and I screamed because I got frightened 

Guy: hey watch your steps 

I looked up at the tall, masculine boy

Me: ohh... Sorry... 

Guy: a black person, in this school? Hmm, that's new 

He walked away and I looked after him, I didn't even get to see his face totally. But he's really muscular and he has black hair. I shrugged and entered the class 

I sighed when I saw another guy seated with his hand hanging out on the second chair beside his school bag

He's not as muscular as the other guy, neither is he as tall but I like his face. He's cute and he seems to be in deep thought 

I gently walked by the wall to the back of the class and sat on the last chair by the corner. I sighed softly and brought out my phone, I haven't even switched it on since morning 

I turned the phone on and saw Anibe's picture as my wallpaper. I chuckled and went to my gallery 

When did he take these pictures with my phone? 

Anibe, the best thing that happened to me. He's my number one boo and lover. I can tell him anything and he tells me almost everything, sometimes he's the only one who I can relate with. 

I went online and chatted him up 

~why did you use your picture as my wallpaper? 

I went through some other messages and dropped the phone. That guy was still sitting and thinking the same way I met him, he's so oblivious of his environment that he hasn't even noticed he's not alone. 

I kept looking at his back and how he was sitting like a statue. This guy is really fresh, so cute 

Lorette entered the class and gasped when she saw him 

Loretta : oh my goodness, Andy you're back to school? Welcome back 

He gently lifted his head and looked at her, I could see that he smiled 

Guy: hey, Loretta. It's nice to see you again 

Awwn, his voice is so angelic. He could be a successful playboy with that voice, just like Anibe 

She sat on his desk 

Lorette : how's your photography going? 

Guy: cool 

Agnes entered the class and sat down on the same seat she sat yesterday. She didn't speak to anyone. Another student entered and went to a seat 

Lorette : I'll see you later 

He nodded and she came to me and sat beside me 

She began to arrange her books and more students kept coming in, some were stealing glances at me and I pretended like I didn't even know 

The class was already filled up and a teacher walked in, we stood up and greeted then sat down. Then the teacher paid respect to me 

Teacher: how are you doing today Unugwa? I hope you're enjoying the school 

Me: yes I am ma'am. Thank you 

It was then that guy looked back at me, his eyes met mine and I could see that he was surprised. I looked at my fingers then raised my head when I was sure that he wasn't looking 

The teacher began to teach Mathematics and I listened attentively because I wanted to know if she could teach it well. I love maths though it's not my favorite subject. Biology is 

Teacher: .... So what next should we do? 

Students: collect like terms

Teacher: then 4ab will sum up with 2ab and 10ab which is equal to 12 plus 1. Is that right class? 

Students: yes 

Teacher: so who can get our final answer for us

Just then, a tall muscular guy walked in with his left hand in his pocket. He created a distraction and every one looked at him 

Isn't this the guy I bumped into? It has got to be him

Lorette : (in whispers) Unugwa, that's Daniel. The second richest guy in the whole school. 

Me: wow. I bumped into him the other time

Lorette : really? And he didn't kill you? 

Me: no. Was he supposed to do that?

She shrugged and we looked back at the teacher. 

Teacher: find a seat Daniel 

He sighed and walked to a seat, he sat down and opened the bag on the desk. I looked at him and he looked at me, I quickly looked away. 

After the Maths teacher, came the English teacher then the Biology teacher before recess time

Lorette: it's finally recess. Come on let's go to the cafeteria 

She pulled me up and we walked to the cafeteria together 

Me: tell me about that guy I saw you speaking with earlier 

Lorette: he's my cousin. We were born in this country but he wasn't trained here. He loves photography a lot and he's always carrying his camera everywhere 

Me: he's really good looking 

Lorette : yeah. He's the cutest in class 

Me: now tell me about Daniel, that guy who walked in

Lorette: Daniel is the second richest in the school after Andy. He's a boxer that's why he's really muscular. 

Me: Andy is your cousin? 

Lorette : yes. Andy hates Daniel and Daniel hates Andy too, no one knows why 

I sighed 

Me: that's serious 

We entered the cafeteria and bought some food, I wanted to pay for it but the caterer wouldn't take the money. He said it's his gift to me 

I thanked him and we moved to the nearest table. It was then I remembered that I brought my own food 

Me: oh jeez, I forgot that I brought my lunch from home

Lorette: you still bring lunch from home? 

Me: yeah, I love my mom's food 

I brought out my lunch and set it 

Me: seems we have double today.

Lorette : looks delicious 

She picked a vegetable and ate 

Me: you like vegetables? 

Lorette : yeah, it's good for health. Much more better than junk food 

Me: I know that 

I took a veggie burger and ate some. I didn't really like it but I didn't want her to know 

Just then Daniel and one other guy walked in, he looked like a boss with his hands in his pockets. Agnes came out from behind him

Agnes: Daniel.. What's wrong with you? 

He sighed and looked at her 

Daniel: can you please just let me be? 

Agnes: I haven't seen you for a long time. I just want to say hi

Daniel: well HI too 

He walked away with that guy beside him. Agnes scoffed and walked to the counter, a girl was coming with a drink and as you would have already imagined, they bumped into each other and the drink spilled on both of them 

Agnes screamed and glared at her, the girl began to apologize. The next thing we saw was an angry Agnes raising her hand, she gave the girl a thunderous slap and pushed her away. She took her bag and walked out of the hall 

The innocent girl was on the floor crying, I felt pity for her. Her friends came and helped her out 

Lorette: Queen Agnes is at it again 

Me: she's really mean 

Lorette : this school is so full of drama 

Me: I can see that 

After school closed, I went home straight even though Loretta begged me to follow her to the mall. 

As soon as I got to my room, I met Anibe on my bed 

Anibe: hey sis 

Me: hey, what are you doing here 

Anibe: waiting for you 

Me: why? 

He sat up 

Anibe : I need your help, there's this girl that I asked out, she says she doesn't trust me. So in other to trust me, she wants to be friends with any of my family member 

I sighed 

Me: I'm not doing it 

Anibe: please you have to, come on.

I removed my suit 

Me: I'm not 

He began to dial a number while I removed my shoes 

Anibe: hello, Demi. How are you.... Okay my sister wants to speak with you 

My eyes widened. He faced me and stood up. I was shaking my head signifying no but he kept the phone on my ear 

I glared at him 

~hello Demi 

~hi, how are you? 

~I'm fine and you 

~I'm doing good 

~my brother told me lots of good things about you. And you sound really nice, I wish I could see you in person 

Anibe smiled at me but I frowned at him 

~wow, that would be nice. I'll create time for us to see 

~thank you, bye Demi 

~bye 

Anibe removed the phone from my ear and winked at me then left my room. I sighed and sat down What a brother! 

 Daniel's POV

I got home and met my dad seeing a black man off to his car, I paused and looked at them. This is the second time I'm seeing a black person in one day

They sighted me and I went to them and greeted. My dad introduced me as his son and heir then introduced the black man as CEO something. I can't recall the name because I've never heard it before. I went to the kitchen and poured myself a drink, I was still there when my dad summoned me to his room upstairs, I went there and met him

Dad: sit down 

I sat on his sofa 

Dad: that man you saw me with is CEO Achimugu, he is the CEO of AUC 

Me: that foreign company? 

Dad: yes. You're quite aware of the success of the company and how it is now the richest and most resourceful company in this side 

I nodded

Dad: good, our company needs his partnership. I have tried to make him choose our company over the other companies but I decided to make sure he chooses ours by creating a friendship that's why I invited him over. But then, when he saw your uniform, he confessed that his daughter attends your school. So Daniel, in other to make things work smoothly, you'll have to make friends with his daughter and find your way into her family. If possible, make her fall in love with you 

I chuckled and looked down. My dad never seizes to amaze me. How can he say I should make a foreigner fall in love with me. Dad of all people, who doesn't take nonsense telling me to make a girl fall for me. Well, he can do anything for his business to grow and be more successful than Andy's father's company 

Dad: this is no joke Daniel. It's business strategy. So when you get to school tomorrow, make sure you make that girl your friend and invite her here someday 

He picked his tablet 

Dad: did I make myself clear? 

Me: yes

He nodded and signalled for me to go, I stood up and walked out of the room. Immediately I closed his door, I scoffed 

Me: make a black girl fall in love with me? Impossible! I don't even have time to look at a girl now 

The only time I have is for boxing
