Laura scrolled through the posts, one by one. Each post had only one like—Ryder's.

She pulled out her phone. These posts hadn't shown up on her feed at all.

Laura scrolled to the very end, starting with the first post, and compared it to her chat history with Ryder day by day.

Her lies, whether intentional or not, were so clumsy they almost seemed like a joke.

When she told Ryder she was working overtime, Seth posted pictures of them shopping together.

When she told Ryder she was going to a meeting, Seth posted pictures of them traveling together.

As she went through them all, she felt embarrassed by how naive she had been.

Every time she lied to Ryder, he could easily see through the lies, through Seth.

Yet Ryder never confronted her about it. He even liked every single post Seth made.

Laura suddenly felt like the worst person ever, having lied to Ryder for so long.
