Chapter 59: A Dangerous Room

Ciara's POV

The corridors of the royal quarters were quieter than usual as I walked through them. Determination burned in my chest, urging me forward with each step. My fingers curled into fists to steady myself and keep moving.

My boots tapped against the marble floor, and the faint echo returned to me, keeping pace with the rapid beat of my heart. Every step toward Luna Eleanor's chamber felt like a gamble. I might find someone who could help me, or I might walk straight into danger.

I needed her help. I needed someone to believe me before everything around me spiraled out of control.

When I reached the tall double doors carved with the Crescent Moon crest, I paused and took a slow breath before knocking.

There was no answer at first. I frowned and tilted my head. Was anyone inside?

I knocked again, trying to sound confident.

"Come in," a deep voice called from inside the chamber.

It was not Luna Eleanor’s voice, but I pushed the door open anyway, hoping

Chapter 61: All I HaveCiara's POVThe guards did not let me walk. They dragged me down the long, silent corridor, my heels scraping against the polished marble floor with each step. The sound echoed off the walls, loud and unrelenting, like a death march meant to announce my defeat.Their grip on my arms was iron hard. The enchanted shackles around my wrists bit into my skin, sending a constant, tingling burn up my forearms. It felt as if my very blood was rebelling against being bound, and the sensation only reminded me that I had no power here.I had no strength left to fight them. I had no will to plead. The disbelief pressed down on me more heavily than any fear could. What I could not comprehend was that Daryl had given the order. It was not a stranger, not a stranger from some distant enemy pack, but Dary

Chapter 60: A Fractured ChoiceDaryl's POVThe sound of heavy boots striking the marble floor echoed through the corridor, loud and commanding, and it made my head spin with alarm. I could barely hear the guards trying to speak, their words swallowed by the pounding rhythm of my heart. I caught only bits and pieces about Ciara and my father, words that made no sense at first, but filled me with immediate dread.I did not wait to understand. My feet moved before my mind could catch up. I pushed past the guards, who tried to slow me down, and I ran down the hallway toward the royal quarters. My heart clawed at my ribs as adrenaline surged through me. Every step was faster than the last, every breath sharp and ragged. When I reached the chamber, I froze. Guards were dragging Ciara away, their grip firm and unyielding. The instant they saw me, their steps faltered, but it was not enough to stop the inevitable confrontation."Why do you have her in cuffs?" I demanded, my voice rising with

Chapter 58: Bitterness and BlameDual POVDaryl's POVThe moon had barely climbed over the treeline when I finally let go of the restraint I had been clinging to all day.I could still hear the voices of the elders echoing in my head, murmuring about Ciara’s power and about her role in the future of the pack. The future they were talking about was none other than my future. Our future. But they were not speaking to me, nor were they speaking for me. They spoke about her as if she were not flesh and blood but some dangerous artifact they had stumbled across. And then there was the humiliation.Ciara had stood there in front of everyone. From my father and mother to the elders and the wolves who looked up to me, she refused my claim. She had denied me without even saying the words. The sting o

Chapter 57: Questioned by fireCiara's POVAs my steps carried me closer to the meeting hall, it felt like I was willingly walking toward a beast that could swallow me whole. As Alaric and I approached the double doors of the meeting hall, I stopped and took in the entire door, observing the intricate carvings of the pack's ancient crest. The wood was blackened in places by age, bearing the marks of stories that had lasted for centuries. The pack warriors standing by the door opened it for us, but my feet did not move. Alaric pressed his hand between my shoulder blades, giving me a silent command to keep moving.Although reluctant, I heeded Alaric’s silent command and stepped inside. The air suddenly became heavy with the scent of incense and the weight of authority. The council elders sat in a semi-circle, their long ceremonial robes brushing the floor.

Chapter 56: The walls close inCiara's POVI kept my chin up until I was out of his line of sight.Damon's unwanted apology still hung in the air like smoke clinging to my clothes. I did not know why it hurt more to ignore him than to hear the words of his apology, but I did it anyway.I recalled the look on his face when I treated him like a stranger and how hard it had been for him to utter those words.I knew I had to hold myself together. I had to stay strong for myself at a time like this or I would fail.Inaya walked me back to my room without speaking at all, and I was grateful for the silence. My pulse was still erratic, and my chest still felt tight.Perhaps it was because of the evasiveness of Luna Eleanor or Damon’s earlier apology that still shook me, but I refused to let the chaos in my mind or the e
