Ivonne’s POV

The palace was so breathtaking that I almost forgot how miserable my night had been. Almost.

The man who had picked me up—still nameless to me—led me through tall arched doors into a wide marble hall.

Every inch of it shone like it had been polished daily. Tapestries lined the walls, depicting wolves, moons, battles, and forests. The ceilings were impossibly high, chandeliers glittering with light that reflected off the shiny floor.

I walked in silence, clutching his coat tighter around me, terrified of making the wrong sound in a place like this. He said nothing either, just walked briskly like he had a purpose, and I tried not to feel like a stray dog being escorted somewhere important.

Finally, he opened a wooden door with ornate carvings and gestured inside.

“Wait here,” he said shortly.

I stepped in, and he closed the door behind me without another word.

It took me a second to realize it was an office. The room was warm, decorated in deep woods and velvet, with a ma

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Ivonne and the south

Ivonne’s POV I kept stealing glances at the man beside me as the car hummed quietly down the wet road. The rain drummed against the windows in a steady rhythm, but my mind was louder, sharper, filled with suspicion of this COMPLETE stranger I had just gotten in a car with. His profile was calm, unreadable, like stone carved into the shape of a human face. But it was Too calm, if you asked me. I still couldn’t believe I was even in this car with him!Hours ago, I’d been sitting alone on a dark street corner, soaked to the bone, shivering in the icy rain with nowhere to go. Uncle Mathew and his wife had practically slammed the door in my face after I yelled and cussed them out when they tried to pimp me out to some that, greasy old man who had the audacity to fancy an underage girl. I had thought I’d seen the worst life had to offer me already, but apparently, I’d been wrong. I had no home. No money. Not even a proper bag of clothes. Everything I had ever owned had been tied to Li

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Chess move

Lincoln’s POV The heavy oak doors closed behind me with a soft thud, and for a moment, I just stood there, staring at the back of my grandfather’s head. Mr. Archibald Stone. Even now, at his age, he managed to look like he could command an army with nothing but a glance. His grey hair was combed perfectly into place, his posture impossibly straight. He was seated behind his massive mahogany desk, a desk that looked like it belonged in a museum rather than a home office, with shelves towering around him filled with books and files. I’d grown up being both terrified and awed by that man. Some things hadn’t changed. My chest still felt tight, and I hated that—hated that he could still make me feel like a nervous child. “Lincoln,” he said, without even turning, his tone formal, clipped. No warmth. There never was with him... He was He finally looked up, those sharp steel-gray eyes piercing straight through me. “It’s been a while. Sit.” I nodded stiffly and sank into the chai

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    The Manor and the lawyer

Lincol's povI’ve been in my grandfather’s manor hundreds of times, but every damn time I step through those giant oak doors, it’s like walking into another world. The place is massive, actually, it was more like an entire kingdom under one roof. As a kid, I used to get lost in its endless corridors. Hell, sometimes even the servants who had worked for decades couldn’t even find me. I’d wander through hallways that seemed to stretch on forever, open doors to forgotten rooms, and swear I heard voices whispering behind the walls.Rumor had it there were secret passageways. As a boy, I believed it. As a man, standing here now, I’m not so sure. But looking at the manor again, the way it looms with its towering ceilings and cold marble floors, maybe it’s true. What I do know for certain is this: one day, all of this will be mine. The thought sends a shiver of excitement down my spine, even now. This manor is the greatest legacy anyone in the country could hope for. People whisper about it

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Lincoln's POV

Lincoln’s POV I ended the call with Ivonne, the smug smile still plastered on my face as if she could see it through the phone. But the second the line went dead, it slid off me like cheap paint under the rain. My jaw clenched, and I tossed the phone onto the table, leaning back in the chair. For a moment, I just stared at the ceiling, hearing my own pulse thudding in my ears. Damn her. Damn it all! I was supposed to feel triumphant—wasn’t I? I had frozen her accounts, backed her into a corner. By now, she should have been crawling back on her knees, begging me to take her back. But instead, I couldn’t stop seeing her face in my head, the anger, the tears. The way her voice cracked when she realized she had nothing left. I rubbed my temple, frustrated. Why the hell was it bothering me? “Oh Lincoln?” I blinked as Alison’s high-pitched voice cut through my thoughts like glass scratching metal. She bounced into the room, shopping bags dangling from both wrists like trophies. “L

  • A Luna of Ice : Reborn for vengeance    Unfair world

Ivonne's POV"Never." I snapped.Suddenly, the air in my uncle’s living room instantly felt suffocating. My chest rose and fell as I tried to process the vile thing that had just come out of his mouth. "He has always taken an interest in you since you were a little girl." were the words he had said with Zero shame. He wanted to Pimp me out to that old pervert Mr. Bennett? An old man who was old enough to be my grandfather?A man that apparently did not hide the fact that he had looked at me with lust when I was still underage? My uncle’s face was still calm, but there was a cruel glint in his eyes that I had never noticed before."What did you just say little girl?" My uncle snapped back." “No,” I said firmly, my voice trembling with fury. “I will not be anyone’s mistress. Not for money. Not for security. And certainly not to Mr. Bennett.” Uncle Mathew’s face darkened instantly. His brows furrowed, his lips tightened, and his nostrils flared like a bull ready to charge. “Listen t
