Amarok's question caught me off guard. I knew very well what she was talking about. Life before the accident. I suppressed them all a long time ago. I hardly remember anything from then and soon after I got to Killian's pack and I healed up, they began to return. But I didn't want to remember them. I didn't want to remember the happy times. It would only add to my guilt.

“Lucienne?” Amarok, called again.

I sighed, knowing I couldn't hide from her. "Amarok, I just don't feel strong enough to face those memories yet. They’re... too much."

Amarok's presence softened, her voice gentle. "I understand, Lucienne. We'll take it one step at a time. For now, let’s talk about something lighter."
