Damien woke up an hour before Nora, taking a few minutes to admire her sleeping in his bed. They still had their separate bedrooms but since she returned from captivity, she had been sleeping in his room more than hers. He planned on never letting her leave, not that she had to know that.

He had been in communication with Seyric and they had been a lot of sightings of werewolf spies hovering around their borders. They were short on guards because of their last attack on three packs and it seemed that their enemy packs had noticed. It was only a matter of time until Alejandro tried to attack their defenses.

It was then Damien made up his mind to conduct occasional inspections of the borders on his own. It was his pack and therefore, it was in his hands to protect the people in it. Each individual, family or business was under his care, their lives depending on every decision he took.

Nora stirred when he was already dressed, blinking until her eyes got used to the light in the room.
