Aria’s POV

“Knox,” I said firmly, with a determination that I didn’t know I had in me.

Knox kept his gaze down, avoiding my eyes, as he stood behind his chair at the head of the table.

I pursed my lips for a moment, before I walked towards him with a frown on my face.

“Knox, we need to talk. Honestly, it is hurtful to find out that you don’t trust me. How could you make such statements? You called my child – our child, a bastard. You accused me of cheating! That’s too low, Knox!” I snapped, and my voice shook, no matter how I tried to keep it steady.

“I’m sorry,” Knox mumbled, still not meeting my eyes.

I blinked in surprise, and my mouth opened and closed a few times in shock. “What?”

Knox lifted his head slowly to meet my eyes. His eyes were wet and remorseful. “I shouldn’t have said all those things. I’m so sorry.”

I took a step back with a furrow on my eyebrows. “Hold on, are you apologizing?” I couldn’t help but ask. I thought it would take a lot of arguments and explanati

Aria’s POV “Come on, Aria. You’re pregnant. You can’t still be thinking of going for training.” Knox murmured sleepily the next morning when I woke up to prepare. I released a small laugh. “I am pregnant, not disabled.” Knox groaned. “But you passed out yesterday.” He mumbled. I shrugged. “After you left, I was feeling like a mess after, and I couldn’t sleep that night. That was why I passed out yesterday. Not because I was pregnant.” Knox groaned again. “You are so stubborn.” He grumbled as he sat up on the bed, rubbing his face with his palm, “I would love to come with you to tell Hunter to take it easy, but I know you might not appreciate that. So please tell Hunter that you’re pregnant, so that he will reduce your workload.” At his words, I paused. I was surprised. The Knox of before wouldn’t have even allowed me to step a foot outside if he knew I was pregnant. He hadn’t even insisted that he come tell Hunter himself. Knox noticed the look on my face, and a small smile cros

Aria’s POV~Eight days later~Every morning, as I woke up to prepare for training with Hunter, I could sense Knox’s disapproval. But true to his word, Knox had never tried to force me to stop. Sometimes, he would accompany me to the training area, before he went off to do only God knows what. We had both agreed that I would stop the strenuous activities when I got to the third month of the pregnancy, as werewolves’ pregnancies were only for five to six months. However, training with Hunter was getting frustrating. Hunter only made me run, nothing more. Yes, my speed and endurance had increased greatly; I wanted to move to the other part, the fighting part.I rolled my eyes as I ran. This was the fourteenth lap, and I felt like my body was going to break down at that moment. On the fifteenth lap, my legs were shaking so badly that I had to stop running to avoid falling down.As usual, Hunter handed me a bottle of water with a cold look on his face. Today, I was so annoyed that I ignore

Aria’s POVCole had been brought here eight days ago, the same day that I started working at the pack clinic. He always had a large grin on his face when he spoke and chatted with the other healers.I can still remember the look of awe on his face when he saw me. “Oh my gosh, I can’t believe it, it’s you. The Luna Queen.” He had exclaimed in pure joy and excitement that tugged at my heart. However, when I was told of his condition, the first thing I wanted to do was distance myself from him to avoid getting hurt. He was going to die soon. It would only upset me if I allowed myself to get close to him.Cole, however, kept asking to see me, and eventually I had to give in. Every day, I always spent at least an hour with him, answering his questions or just keeping him company.“Is the Alpha King really heartless as they say?” he murmured shyly one day as I propped up the pillows behind him to make sure he was comfortable.I paused slightly at his question, and I released a small laugh.

Aria’s POVThe room was full of tension. Two healers stood beside him, monitoring his vitals, while his parents stayed with him for support. I couldn’t help but notice that everyone in the room kept glancing at the clock as his time got closer.“L...” He struggled to speak, looking in my direction with drooping eyes. The other people in the room turned their attention to me, before they continued what they were doing after giving me small bows.I gave him a small smile as I approached his bedside. “You’ve always been so stubborn. I told you to rest and save your strength.”His eyes glinted with amusement, but he couldn’t form the words. I knew what he wanted to say. Then he gave me a questioning look. “Al.....Ki...” He mumbled weakly.I nodded. “Yes, I’ll make sure I introduce you to the Alpha King.”Cole had made me promise that when he died, I would introduce him to the Alpha King. It had been a very strange request, but there was no way I was going to say no to his request. The lig

Aria's POVI began imagining scenarios where Jade took over, and began living my life.Jade scoffed. ‘With how boring your life is, I’m not interested. No, thanks.’“Stay away from my thoughts,” I snapped.‘Tick tock, Aria. Time is going.’ Jade reminded me.I glanced at the clock. Aria’s POV I watched in horror as the healers announced Cole’s death. My breath caught in my throat, and my body felt like it was sinking into the floor. It had all been in vain. We were too late. We couldn’t save him. A sense of numbness settled within me as I stared at the lifeless body on the bed. His skin was so pale, and his tiny chest was motionless. Jade took advantage of the crying parents and the chaos to slip away from the room. “We were too late,” I murmured, as the pain rushed through me. “No, we weren’t.” Jade mumbled, walking away from the room. I was confused. “What do you mean? He is dead!” I asked. Jade scoffed, almost sounding amused. “You were the one that said you wanted it subtle. The boy will be fine. The curse had eaten into him deeply, so it might take a little while before he wakes up.” I shook my head, I was finding it hard to believe her. False hope would only hurt worse. “But his heart has stopped,” I argued. “No, it hasn’t. I put his body into a for

Aria's POV When I got back to my room, I still had a smile on my face as I closed the door behind me. “Someone had a great day,” Knox commented with a small smile on his face as he watched me. My smile widened, and I placed a soft kiss on his lips. “Yes, yes I did.” I whispered against his lips. “I’m glad to hear that. Tell me all about it, let me know who I need to reward for making my mate have a wonderful day.” He replied, wrapping his arms around my waist, and pulling me closer to him. “Well, in that case, you would need to meet Cole. He is responsible for making me this happy.” I said, placing my hand on his chest. Knox’s grip on my waist tightened slightly, and his eyes narrowed. “Cole?” He repeated slowly. His tone caused me to pause for a moment, furrowing my eyebrows at him. “What is it?” I asked in concern. His eyes flashed crimson, and his nose flared. “Cole? Huh? Tell me all about this Cole guy that’s causing you so much joy. I would like to personally thank him.” H

Aria’s POV Disappointment washed through me as I stared up at the ceiling. I glanced at Knox sleeping heavily beside me, and I frowned slightly. Was something wrong with me? Why didn’t he do it this time? I had really thought this was it. I had thought that this was the moment that Knox would take this to the next level by marking me, but he didn't. ~Flashback~ Knox’s eyes glowed red – Fenrir was in control. His canines grew longer, and his claws grew sharper as he pinned me to the bed. As he thrust into me, he lowered his head to my neck. Without any hesitation, I turned my head to the side to give him easy access to do what he needed to. His breath was hot against my neck, and I shivered in anticipation. His tongue slipped out and ran along the side of my neck, right where his mark should be. His canine scraped against my neck, and I released a breathy sigh. Finally, he was going to do it. I thought to myself. Suddenly, he tensed on top of me, and began breathing heavily, clench

Aria’s POVThe throne room was colder than the rest of the icy hallways that we had walked through. It was so cold that I could see my breath in the air. The room was so dark that it was hard for me to see, but the vampires had no problem seeing in the room.Even though the room was large, it felt suffocating.Through the darkness, I could see a towering golden throne, but I couldn’t see who sat there… but I could feel his eyes watching me. A chill ran down my spine, and the hair on the back of my neck stood up.My knees trembled. Everything in me screamed at me to run from the darkness. But I couldn’t, I could barely stand.Raven’s claws dug deeper into my arm before she released me, and I winced slightly. They both bowed slightly. “We brought her, my Lord,” Kale said.I waited for his response—but all I heard was silence. If not for the eyes I could feel boring into me, I would have started to wonder if anyone was really here with us.Finally, Viktor spoke in a cold, chilling voice.

Aria's POVI lost track of how long I had been tied down on the hard uncomfortable bed, waiting for my death sentence. I had cried so much that it felt like all my tears had dried up, so I had nothing left to cry.I hated this feeling. The feeling of hopelessness and despair that sat heavy in my chest.I knew that Knox would find me. There was no doubt about that, but the main issue was the state he would find me in. Would I be dead by then? Or would I have been seriously maimed? Or worse….my baby?My baby kicked in my womb, and a sad smile crossed my lips. This was the first time the baby was kicking, and Knox wasn’t here for me to tell. I couldn’t even rejoice about it, because it could be the last time.“Jade? Why can’t I heal myself?” I asked quietly, groaning lightly at the pain in my back. I had tried to heal myself from the wounds, but it hadn't worked.Jade sighed, sounding resigned. ‘I don’t know. My guess is that you can only help others, but not yourself.’I closed my eyes

Aria’s POV“Beware of the witch…”I gasped, and my eyes snapped open. The first thing I felt was cold. The room around me was dark and had no windows, just one steel door. The room stank of blood and antiseptic, causing a wave of nausea to rush through me.I tried to sit up, but pain shot through my abdomen, and I cried out."My baby," I breathed. I tried to move my hand to touch my stomach, but my hands were tightly restrained.Panic surged inside me as I tugged at them, trying to set myself free.“Please…” I cried out, “Somebody, help me.”The last thing I remembered was Cornelius, the vampire, bleeding, then I fell unconscious. My back and arm were throbbing, reminding me of what had happened. My mind flashed back to Knox's claws tearing through my back, and my arm, and I winced. But that wasn't my number one worry for now.Was my baby still alive? Was I still bleeding? Knox’s POVI froze mid-step, her words echoed in my head. Slowly, I turned, narrowing my eyes. “What did you just say?” I growled. The girl flinched, stumbling back a step. I could smell her fear. I was surprised that she didn’t start running. She swallowed hard. “I… I saw the Luna being taken,” she stammered. “I was in the room when I heard footsteps coming. I thought it was vampires, so I hid—inside this big, empty cardboard box.”I folded my arms, forcing myself to stay calm. “Go on.”She shifted nervously but she continued. “I—I saw Cornelius. He was with the Luna.”I nodded tightly. “I know. He said they were ambushed. That he tried to protect her and—”“No!” she blurted out, shaking her head violently. “No, Alpha—that’s not true. That’s not what happened.”My breath caught. Fenrir growled inside of me. ‘I knew he was lying,’She looked like she wanted to run, but she still spoke. “He hit her. I saw it. I guess you’re not as loved as you think.”I growled and landed a punch into his midsection, hard enough to make the chains shake violently. He bent over, gasping for air.“Who is it?!” I roared.“I don’t know,” he groaned through the pain. “I wasn’t told. The higher ranks didn’t tell us. All we know is that a mutt gave us everything we needed—information, access, weaknesses.”I clenched my jaw so hard, and my claws dug into my palms. “You’re saying someone from my pack helped you take my mate?”He looked up at me, blood leaking from the corner of his mouth. He had a very smug look on his face. “Not just helped,” he said slowly, deliberately. “Delivered her.”My breath caught. But the bastard wasn’t done. Knox's POVIt was the worst feeling ever. That feeling of losing control, while you watch yourself doing pure evil.I could still feel it, the feeling of her flesh against my claws, and the warmth of her blood. I could still feel the horror in my bones when I realized it was her. Aria. My mate. My everything. And I hurt her.Fenrir roared inside me in pain, just as shattered and broken as I was. We were both drowning in guilt and rage. Rage at ourselves for what we had done to our mate. So we turned that rage outward. We tore through the vampires like savages, allowing our rage to take over as we decimated them. It was easier to rip them apart than face what we had done. It was easier to destroy them than think about the way Aria had cried out in pain because of us.No matter how much I tried to think, I didn’t know how it happened. One moment, we were all over each other, lost in passion. I was about to mark her. My fangs were hovering just above her skin…And then something snapped.
