Chapter 5: Can't Run

"Sir, Miss Olivia ran away from her room. We found a cloth hanging from her window," reported Loye, Olivia's grandfather's assistant.

"I knew it; she must have gone to Aland," Simon said. "Leave it to yourself; don't look for him. I want to see how long he can survive outside without the facilities I provide."

"Yes, sir."

If possible, monitor him remotely to prevent him from recognizing your presence. After all, I don't want my grandson to be hurt or harmed by others," Simon said.

"Yes, sir."

On the other hand, Olivia woke up from her sleep when she heard the roar of a car engine. She got up from her position and climbed out of bed. She walked to the window and peered in front of the villa.

"The bastard cat is leaving," she murmured. "Good. I can escape from here."

Olivia saw Zayden walk out of the villa in a fancy, very expensive suit. When the handsome man walked in, his men had already opened the car's passenger door. Before getting into the car, Zayden turned his head towards Olivia's room, making her startle and immediately move away from the window.

"Does he have radar in his head? Why does he always realize he's being observed?" Olivia muttered.

The sound of a car leaving the villa area filled the air. Olivia approached the window again and smiled happily.

"He's gone. Well, it's time for us to go," she muttered.

The door to the room opened, and a maid appeared with breakfast for Olivia.

"Miss, here's your breakfast," the maid said.

"Yes, thank you," Olivia replied as she looked out the door to make sure there were no guards outside.

"Wait!" called Olivia, preventing the waitress from moving and looking at her in confusion.

Olivia walked up to the maid with a smile. "I'm sorry."

Olivia, who knew a little about martial arts and acupuncture points, hit the maid on the back of the neck hard enough to knock her unconscious. Olivia quickly carried the maid to the bed and laid her body there. She swapped her clothes for the maid's clothes.

She took a quick bite of breakfast and placed her bag under the wheeled table. She then moved out of the room by pushing the desk.

With a pounding heart, Olivia walked down the hallway of the enormous villa. Before she reached the stairs, she saw a room that was slightly open. Out of curiosity, Olivia entered the room.

She was surprised by the number of papers on the wall. The wall displayed several photos of deceased individuals, along with some news articles.

"Wh-what is this?" she muttered, covering her mouth in shock.

Feeling scared and worried, Olivia quickly left the room and continued her steps to get out of there.

'Crazy! That guy must be a psycopath who likes to kidnap girls and kill them. I'm glad I woke up and left,' Olivia thought as she reached the kitchen. She quickly put down the table and walked towards the back door.

"Hey, Amel, did you get your work done? "Did you deliver breakfast to the young master's guests?" inquired a woman, dressed as a maid and looking different from the clothes Olivia was wearing.

"Su-sure." Olivia still stood with her back to the woman.

"Well, go clean up the kitchen," she said, walking away.

When the opportunity arose, Olivia quickly grabbed her bag and ran towards the back door of the villa. Thankfully, Olivia managed to escape by climbing over the padlocked fence.

"Uh, my leg still hurts," she complained.

Olivia walked away from the villa with quick steps. Afraid that someone would notice her escape, she immediately stopped a taxi and got into it.

"Ugh, finally getting away from that scary place. I hope to never see that Bengal cat again," Olivia muttered.

She forgot about the taxi fare that kept getting more and more expensive. "Stop, sir!" pleaded Olivia, startling the taxi driver.

"Here?"

"Yes, I'll just get off here," Olivia said, and the driver pulled the car over.

Olivia opened her wallet and could only sigh when there was only one bill left.

The driver gave change to Olivia, who had already gotten out of the taxi.

"It's only a small change; it's not enough to eat," Olivia complained, looking at the coins in her palm.

Olivia glanced around. "Where is this?" she muttered.

Finally, Olivia continued her journey on foot to the company where Aland worked.

After a very tiring journey, sweat poured down her body, plus she hadn't had breakfast; she had only drunk a little juice.

"Thirsty and hungry as hell," she muttered, looking at the fast food restaurant she passed by while rubbing her stomach.

"Huft!"

Olivia continued her journey until, before she knew it, she had arrived at Aland's office, which was already full of employees entering the building.

"How do I meet Aland? Last time he kicked me out and forbade me to come again," Olivia muttered.

Finally, Olivia decided to sit across the building, waiting for Aland to arrive.

After waiting for a long time, Olivia got up from her seat when she saw Aland's car stop in front of the building. She saw Aland get out of the car, then opened the passenger door, and a woman came out.

Degh!

'Aland and Penelope?' Olivia's mind was quite surprised to see them. As expected, they were neither close nor familiar.

Olivia saw Aland and Penelope walking into the building.

"What exactly is the relationship between the two of them?" Why are they together, and why did Penelope enter Aland's office?" Olivia murmured in confusion, but at the same time, her heart was filled with jealousy.

Because of her curiosity, Olivia decided to wait there all day without eating or drinking. Aland and Penelope came back out at noon.

"Aland!" called Olivia when they were about to get into the car.

Aland and Penelope were surprised to see Olivia there in her maid outfit.

"Wow, what's with the clothes, Oliv? Are you working as someone's maid now?" quipped Penelope.

"Is this Aland? Why are you with Penelope?" asked Olivia without responding to Penelope.

"Why are you opposed to my relationship with other women when you are free to sleep with other men?" Aland quipped sharply.

"I explained it before; you misunderstood, Aland." Can't you give me a chance?" Olivia asked with a hurt expression.

"I can't!" replied Aland firmly. "Let's go, Penelope." Aland opened the car door for Penelope, and she got in. The man approached Olivia.

"Listen, don't ever appear in front of me again! I don't like the look on your face!" Aland said this and walked away, leaving Olivia feeling devastated and sick. She could do nothing but watch as Aland and Penelope drove away.

Olivia's hands clenched into fists as she watched them. Her heart ached; no one would listen to her or believe her.

'Why are you doing this to me, Aland?' Olivia thought to herself.

The night was getting late, and the rain was pouring down. Olivia, unable to continue walking, opted to sit on the sidewalk, leaving her body exposed to the rain. The streets were crowded, and cars were moving slowly. In one of the luxury cars, Zayden sat in the passenger seat, looking out the car window.

And his gaze narrowed when he saw Olivia's figure on the side of the road, her body drenched in rain.

"Stop the car," Zayden said.

"Do you need anything, sir? Let me buy it for you," said Clif, Zayden's personal assistant.

"No need; move the car," said Zayden, and Clif immediately told the driver to do so.

"You guys keep going; I'll call you at the drop-off point," said Zayden. After that, Zayden got out of the car with a black umbrella.

Zayden walked towards Olivia, who bowed her head with a hollow feeling.

"It turns out that this city is very narrow, huh?" Zayden said. "No matter how far you run, someone will eventually find you."

Hearing that, Olivia threw her head back, and her gaze widened as it met Zayden's piercing gaze.

"Bad cat?" muttered Olivia.
