Chapter Forty-Six

“Are you ready to mingle?” Carter asked.

“Yeah, let's do it,” I said. “Do you want to talk to the vendors or what are you thinking?”

“No, I don't have much interest in the vendors tonight,” he said. “They're the ones asking for money. I've got my money where I want it right now. I'm interested in the ones who are looking to invest. My guess is that they're in the banquet hall, where dinner and drinks are being served.”

“Well, let's go there then,” I said, squeezing his arm.

We made our way through the booths. I was amazed at some of the technology these people were selling. Most everything they had was solar powered and one company had even created a concept car that ran completely off of the sun. It was like we were stepping into the future. It was exciting to be so close to the cutting edge of technology.
