WELLINGTON'S POV

“What do you plan to do about Vicente?”

Dahlia’s voice cuts through the rhythm of my punches, and I turn too quickly, grabbing the punch bag before it swings back hard enough to hit my face.

“I’ll call her parents. Not today, though.” I snatch a bottle of water from the small table beside the lounge chair, take long gulps, then pour the rest over my already wet body, letting it run down my chest and back.

It’s early morning.

I started working out an hour ago, pushing myself har

WELLINGTON'S POV“Keep your eyes on him and report every move back to me,” I say into the phone, my voice steady even though my thoughts are anything but. The wind from the helicopter blades roars behind me as I step down, my shoes hitting the ground with purpose as I head straight toward the Maserati waiting ahead.I don’t slow down or look back.“Welcome back, boss. Where am I taking you first?” the driver asks the moment I slide into the backseat.“Take me to the lakeside penthouse,” I reply, already dialing another number, my attention locked on the screen as the line connects.Amos has never driven me before, he's a new hire amongst the security team and I asked that the head of security assign him to drive me for a while so I can see how far he's willing to go to prove himself.“What’s the situation?” I ask the second Ross picks up.“He’s stubborn,” Ross answers, his voice rough as usual, strained and breathless, like he’s still in the middle of it. “I’ve chopped off almost all

DAHLIA'S POV“Why didn’t you say anything?” I shout, my voice tearing out of my throat. My veins feel like they’re stretching under my skin, tight and hot, my pulse racing so hard that I can hear it pounding in my ears even though Sunny is right beside me.“I had no idea it’s… fuck!” Her words snap in half as the car slams forward again, the impact throwing all of us violently against our seats.Cleo’s tiny body jerks in my arms, and instinct takes over before fear can even settle properly. I pull her closer, wrapping myself around her like a shield, my hands trembling but firm as I press her head into my chest.Another hit. This one is harder. The sound of metal crushing into metal pierces my ears, loud and unbearable, like something inside the car is screaming with us.I twist in my seat, forcing my body to move despite the dizziness clouding my vision, and glance back just in time to see the truck clearly as it barrels toward us again.“Oh my God…” I whisper, but the words barely

  • A Secret Baby For The Billionaire    Crash Landing Into You

WELLINGTON’S POV“Into the truck, now! Jump!”The woman’s voice cuts through the noise behind us, breathless and commanding, rising above the constant echo of gunfire that tears through the night. She is still shooting, still holding off the men chasing us as we run, but something in her tone forces us to stop all at once, our feet freezing against the ground as if she has just asked us to run straight into the flames of the fire we are running from.“Don’t be scared, I’d never hurt you. I saved you all just now, remember?” she adds quickly, as though she can feel the fear gripping us, the hesitation that crawls through every bone in our bodies.“We don’t trust you. That’s what we’ve been told almost our whole lives, and now you’re asking us to hop into another container?” one of the girls cries, her voice shaking as she backs away, her head moving side to side in refusal.“Yeah, you could be taking us to another hell. We are not going anywhere with you!” another girl adds, her fear t

  • A Secret Baby For The Billionaire    Crashing Into You

DAHLIA’S POV“Come on, motherfuckers!”I hear my mother curse, her voice loud and unfamiliar. It is the first time I am seeing this side of her, and I don’t want to believe it even with what is unfolding right in front of my eyes, loud and terrifying and too real to be a dream.“Hey, grab the girl!”The voice slips into my ears before I turn, slow and confused, only to see the car door already open and a large hand reaching in, rough fingers undoing my seatbelt.“Mama!” I scream, thrashing against the seatbelt, my small body jerking as I try to dive toward my mother. Before I can even understand what is happening, my mother turns, and a bullet flies across my face, so close that I feel the wind of it brush my skin, hitting the man whose strong hands are gripping me. He grunts, thrown off instantly, his body jerking backward.I am too little to understand death, but I look at him. His eyes are wide open, frozen, staring at me from where he lies sprawled near a ditch, like he is still t

And Dahlia is not something I can ignore. She’s a full-time job too, an unavoidable distraction I can’t seem to shut out no matter how hard I try.“I’ve got an emergency to take care of,” I add when she keeps looking at me sideways, like she’s trying to read between every word I’m saying. My phone buzzes again. We both glance at it at the same time, and the name

DAHLIA'S POV“Try again.”“Why do you have a dinner date planned with my stepsister?” I ask, even as I know I’ve just made myself vulnerable by showing him those messages.“Tsks,” he clicks his tongue softly. “Wrong again.”I pause, my breath catching somewhere between my chest and throat. My thoughts feel tangled. His closeness doesn’t help, it melts whatever resolve I have, reduces me into something soft and unsteady, like paper soaked in water. He leans closer until his lips brush against the tip of my nose, and for a second, I forget how to breathe.“What…” I hesitate, my head spinning slightly, but I force myself to focus, to hold on to something solid. “What should I do, Mr. Chane?”His voice drops even lower, almost a whisper as he bends closer, his mouth grazing mine just enough to make my heart trip over itself.“That’s it…”A sudden beam of light cuts across us, very bright and blinding. For one breathless second, I recoil, my heart jumping into my throat. It feels ridiculou
