John and William have been training their body and minds since passing their first exam to an excessive degree. They want to be ready and pass any question or task they are given. George can see their anxiety eating them away, and asked them to take it easy. But the two won’t let up. Until the next official visits them, they shall ensure they are at top performance. Dawn found him in the same chair, tracing the same lines with a finger gone numb from cold. The phrases looped in his skull like a curse. “A curse.” His mind boggled. Then the spark hit him. A curse!“Julie!” His voice cracked the quiet like ice on a frozen lake. “The Grand Library’s Restricted Section!”Commoners who visit it or borrow one of many tomes and books suffer a lifetime of pain. At the same time, any visiting royal families are unaffected. There was a story about an accountant who, at the request of his royal client, was s
