ISABELLE’S POV

“Yes, yes”. I quickly lie because this is the only way to get out of this alive.

“Soldiers, lower down your swords. The king had ordered a few days back to let the slave go alive if she succeeds in getting out of the maze”. He tells the other soldiers and I breathe a sigh of relief. A smile appears on my face.

“You can go. I have never seen any slave getting out of the maze alive in my sixty years. You are the first one to get out of the maze. You can go as per the king's orders”. He tells me and I quickly stand up. This is my chance to leave and I should be away from these soldiers as soon as possible.

Suddenly I remember that I don’t have any water and I am thirsty. In fear, I had forgotten about my thirst. My throat has become as dry as a desert. “Can I get some water, please?”. I ask the soldier who seems like a good man. He nods.

“Lucas, bring her some water”. He orders one of the soldiers and he goes to bring the water.
