I accepted his hand, he backed me like a baby in need of her mother's attention. whispering “Hold on tight.” He ran off. His speed, his strength and agility are not humanly possible. I was not scared. Instead I felt comfortable, safe in his presence which was weird because two nights ago I was battling with this same person who wanted me dead.

The air brushed my body, the feeling soothing. It was as if I was in a ride, a very fast one at that. Then suddenly he lost control of his speed, going zig zard, bumping into tree leaves and branches. Almost about to bump into a tree itself, I woke up.

“It was a dream! It was a dream! Calm down Aria, calm down.”

My dreams have been frequent these days, but at least this one felt different. It was positive. No fighting. No fear. I. I experienced peace when with him. Collecting my thoughts together, the school bell rang.

These past few days haven't been for me, so I decided to feel free, and enjoy my day like a normal student. I missed my friends and classes so it was only right to make up for it. As I walked to my classes, lights were too bright, noises too loud. During break, I could smell everybody's blood and it made me dizzy. I was also on a quest to avoid Ethan because if he sees me, he tends to question me more.

I ran to the girls toilets, splashing my face with water and slapping myself. Something was wrong with me. The sun was too bright and I've never had a problem with it. I could never smell blood and crave for it at the same time but now I feel all these things. Wiping the water off my face with a napkin I took a deep breath and headed out only for me to see Ethan.

He was in a corner, talking to someone. Constantly searching to know if anybody was watching him. “I wonder what he's doing this time.” I murmured and as his talking partner walked out, I recognised the logo he drew as a tattoo. It was the logo of the—

“Aria? What are you doing here?” Ethan obstructed my thoughts.

“Hey Ethan. I just used the restroom. What are you doing too? I saw you over there talking to someone.”

“Nothing… much, I was just… jus… I was helping my friend with his assignment.” I nodded in approval as if I agreed.

“Okay fine. See you this evening?” he hesitated replying. “Yes this evening for… Sure”

He marched off. “That's weird, I bet Ethan is hiding something.”

It was already night, I was engrossed in the book I found. It wasn't giving me any solution but it had these vampire stories in them. Their do’s and don't, heroes and heroine, the war between them and hunters and their little alliance with the witches. It had a similarity because the man who bit me was a vampire.

It sounded strange in my mind, like I was imagining someone and best believe that if I explained this to Ethan or anybody, they would think I watch too many Fantasy movies. Vampires are real? Aside from being real, I was bitten by one. My life felt like the female protagonist in a movie but it was real.

The sky was heavy with clouds, the wind whispering against the windows. Its rhythm lulled me, pulling at my eyelids until I drifted into sleep. While at sleep I saw him again, pulled into his past blood memory: him in the throne room, ruthless, bloody wars. I felt his pain and loneliness.

I woke up shaken. The rain poured down heavily. I could see the drops racing down my window. Then lightning struck and I saw him. Turning on my bed lamp, I saw the smirk on his face. No more fear, it was as if I was expecting him.

“Who are you?” I questioned sitting upright on my bed.

“I'm Lucian D'Arcanis, a vampire prince, cursed into slumber till you rescue me.” His voice is calm.

“I never rescued you on purpose, it was by mistake. So why not go back into your slumber and leave me alone.”

“Hahahaha! You think I would go back to my slumber? Never! My enemies shall all pay with their lives thanks to you.”

“I'm I an enemy?”

“Of course not.” He walked to me,standing before me like I called.

“Then why do you keep revealing yourself to me in my dream?”

“We're bound by blood and fate. Only you I respect and me you obey.”

“Seriously? I'm not bound by fate nor am I bound by blood. I belong to no one, so please leave me alone.”

“You cannot ignore the mark on your hand, that's what makes us one. It will kill you if you resist.”

I look down to my scar, I look up to him. Trying to put the pieces together because this scar has always been on me since childhood so how does it make us one.

“This scar means nothing. It has been a scar I had since childhood probably from an accident or something, so don't come here trying to confuse me with your made up stories.”

He smiles. “With time, you would understand how we belong to each other.”

He walks to the window looking out and then turning to face me again, he whispers “Mine.” my brain traces back that this was the last word he says when he bites.

“I'm not yours Lucian. I belong to no one.” I snapped.

“Shhh… don’t fight it. Just listen to me, and you’ll feel no pain.” His voice whispers as he strides closer to me.

“I belong to no one.” my voice trembling as a move back while on my bed. He pauses. ““Relax, I’m not going to kill you… yet. Depends on how good you taste.”

Fear travels down my spine, unknown of what he could do. How much of a demon he could be.

He moved closer, each step very soft, almost graceful, until he was right in front of me. His lips curled, and I saw the sharp gleam of his fangs as they slid into place. Before I could even breathe, he struck, cold speed, piercing heat, his mouth pressed to my neck.

A shiver travelling through me, fear melting into a strange rush of pleasure that made my knees weaken. My pulse raced, yet I didn’t fight it. I let myself sink into the dizzy sweetness of his bite, every nerve trembling.

For a fleeting second, he lifted his head, lips hovering dangerously close to mine, as if he might claim me completely. My breath hitched—then he was gone, vanishing into the night like he’d never been there at all.

My scar started burning immediately after he vanished, I rushed to the window to check if I would see him. There they were, They Elders Hunters, watching.

His hands tightens into fist and his eyes burn with a fierce glare. “We are here as usual to hold a meeting on an important issue we face currently.” people steal glances at each other, signalling themselves towards me. “The Hunters are getting stronger than we imagined, and they are causing more trouble for us.” “Aren't we meant to fight back?” The vampire member from the room asks. “Fighting back means we want war and I don't think we are ready for another war and blood losses.” “Sire, it's aware we don't want war, but what do we do when these people want us out of existence and are somehow succeeding?” “We can't just sit and watch.” a member shouts from his seat and the others support with hail. The door creaked open and as I turned, I saw Lucian. He looked somehow more handsome at night, maybe it was the vampire in him. His singlet clung to his body, tracing the lines of his abs, the strength in his arms, the hard plane of his chest. It felt deliberate, like he knew exactly the effect he was having. When our eyes met, heat crept up my neck, and I looked away, dropping my gaze to the floor. I turned slightly, tugging my pajama coat into place, trying to steady myself. “What are you doing out here alone by this time?” He looked at me. “Having a hard time?” “Who in my position would think of sleep?” “Well I would, I can't trade my sleep for a problem.” “Maybe you've never had a problem like mine.” “That's not true. What you are facing right now, was what I also went through.” His hands s

Hunter's POV “I invite you all to this meeting and hope that we make something out of it.” “Please tell us Sebastian, how do we stop this girl and her protector from our plan.” a member asked. I rose to my feet on my chair and looked at Nithara like I needed permission to speak, then I moved on. “You talk as if we know it all. If we did, why go through the hassle of hosting a meeting? We need all hands on deck.” “It's certain and we know that Aria is quite a very powerful being, and if I must say it seems difficult to stop her.” “How dare you let faith sink in your hearts? huh?” Nithara scolded in objection to the Hunter's words. Her eyes burning with anger and maybe a bit of fear. “I'm sorry Leader Nithara.” “We have tried in so many ways to bring Aria down or rather make her stop whatever she is doing but things seem not to be going our way.” I look over to Nithara again, waiting for her to say something or at least someone from the room to say something. • A Vampire's Mark    Blood Bride

The bowl of water he held in his hands fell to the ground, his eyes wide open as if he had just seen a ghost. “The what?” I asked, looking back at aunt and Lucian to be sure they equally heard what I did. The prophet rose from his elevated chair, he walked over me slowly, his steps delicate as if I was some prey that could run away in an instant. “The gods bless us that you exist.” his hands fidgeting as he ran his fingers across my face, his eyes in disbelief like he wasn't sure if this was reality or a dream. “Uhmmm… prophet Rabi, may we continue what we—” He silenced my aunt with a raise of a finger. He circles me, murmuring words that I couldn't decipher. They were spells? Or maybe prayers. He took me by the wrist, dragging me before his chair. He signaled his servants to bring me a seat and while he did this he did not utter a word. It was weird and for some unknown reason, I was treated . They served us food, and our hands and feet were washed.“Okay, prophet… Rabi, can you
