Xander's office was quiet when Karl pushed the door open.

Only David sat, his sleeves rolled up, papers scattered in front of him. He looked up when Karl entered, his expression calm but questioning.

“Where’s Alex?” Karl asked, his tone brisk.

David leaned back in his chair. “He left about an hour ago. Said he had things to settle at home.” He studied Karl for a moment, noticing the tightness around his jaw, the fire smoldering in his eyes. “What’s wrong? You look like you’re about to explode.”

Karl didn’t waste time. He dropped a folder onto the desk between them and said in a low, charged voice, “It’s Tatiana. The car we had on track? It didn’t go to her friend’s house.”

David frowned, confused. “What do you mean? She said she went to Freda’s.”

“The coordinates don’t lie,” Karl shot back. “The route showed something entirely different. She never went near Freda’s.”

David straightened in his chair, unease flickering across his face. “Then where the hell did she go?”

  • A Wife For Seven Days    Chapter 94

Tatiana’s eyes fluttered open, the light of the room soft and almost ethereal. Her eyelids twitched as if weighed down by sand. Slowly, her eyes began to open, lashes parting to reveal a blurred ceiling above her. A dull, radiating pain throbbed as she tried to lift her head. It felt heavy, as though her skull had been filled with stones. Her face tensed, lips parting slightly as she drew in a shaky breath. The room… this wasn’t what she was used to. Not even close to a hospital. The space radiated elegance—walls painted a delicate cream with a warm undertone, ornate moldings traced the edges of the ceiling like intricate lacework. The lighting was soft, diffused through antique glass sconces rather than harsh fluorescent bulbs. A hospital monitor stood in one corner, but its sleek frame was matched by polished mahogany paneling. A faint scent of roses lingered in the air, blending strangely with the sterile smell of disinfectant. The bed she lay on was unlike any hos

The red “In Operation” sign above the theatre door glowed like a warning.Xander sat slouched in the cold, metallic chair in the hospital corridor, his hands hanging loosely between his knees, agitated. The blood stains on his hands were a cruel reminder he didn’t want to forget.David and Karl rushed in.Moments later, Selena, Ingrid, Isabel, Noah, Tony, Cassandra, Loretta, and old Jacob filed in, one after another.Their heels clinked, but not with care—fear.Xander’s eyes lingered on the blood on his hands, then shifted to the door. His face was pale, drained of its usual composure, as if the chaos of the night had stripped him of all his carefully built defenses. It had been four long hours.Finally.The light in the theatre went off. Then the door to the operating room opened. The sound cut through the tension like a blade. Everyone turned sharply toward it. Xander stood up straight, his entire body locking as the surgeons emerging in his scrubs.David and Karl followed suit

The ambulance siren wailed as Xander cradled Tatiana’s limp body against his chest. Her blood soaked through his clothes, warm and sticky. His expression didn’t shift, but his arms locked around her as if prying her away would kill him too.The stretcher rolled in with sharp efficiency. He lowered her onto it without a word. He climbed into the ambulance without looking back with her.Tony made the attempt to join, but the glare from Xander steeled him in his place. The doors slammed shut, sealing only him in with her and the paramedics. As the vehicle tore through the night, Xander sat rigid, one hand gripping the side rail, the other holding hers. His thumb brushed her cold skin.Xander's eyes didn’t waver from her face—silent and desperate. To feel the same fear again after seventeen years was something that was going to break him. He wasn't sure why he had such a memory, but all he knew was that Tatiana should wake up.He didn't care anymore. Whether she cheated or not, he didn't

XANDERThe gun went off.The sound split the air like a crack of thunder, sharp and violent. For a heartbeat, silence followed—heavy, unnatural. Then he whispered her name, barely audible.“Tati…ana.”His eyes tracked the spreading red stain on her dress. She stumbled backward, her expression a flicker of shock and pain, and then she collapsed onto the floor.Xander took a step forward—just one—but then when he saw it,the blood, dark and vivid against the pale fabric.Something inside him lurched. The world tilted, the sound around him muffled as if someone had clamped invisible hands over his ears. The sight of blood didn’t just freeze him—it pulled him.Pulled him back. His surroundings dissolved. The marble floor, the chandeliers, Tatiana’s falling body—they all bled away into darkness, until he was standing in the front yard of a house he had only seen three days ago after seventeen years.Their old house. The air was humid, thick with silence. He was small—his hands, his feet, e

TATIANA'S POV“If you touches me with your filthy hands again, I will kill you.”A chill ran through Tatiana’s veins as the words sank in. It wasn’t just what he said—it was how he said it. Cold. Final. Like she was nothing but dirt beneath his shoes. Her chest tightened painfully. How had she become this to him? Filth. She, who had once stood by his side, who was now trying—desperately—to protect him, was the very thing he wanted to erase. A flicker of disbelief crossed her face, but beneath it bloomed a raw, quiet agony.Even when she was trying to protect him from danger, he wanted to end her. What wrong had she done in her life? Why was everything against her?He had humiliated her, and now he didn’t even want to see her again.Fine. She would give him that. She let her hand slip away but not before catching the cold glare in his eyes. He turned without a care, as if she had never existed. But then—She felt a sharp, hot punch in her chest—like fire exploding beneath her skin. For

  • A Wife For Seven Days    Chapter 89

Tatiana pushed through the double doors and stumbled back into the glittering hall. Her heart pounded so violently that she could barely hear the music anymore. The laughter, the clinking of glasses, the slow swirl of gowns and tuxedos—it all blurred. Her chest rose and fell in quick, shallow breaths as she scanned the room, eyes locking on the one person she needed to reach.Xander.He was near the far end of the hall, standing with his usual commanding presence. He’d shed the warmth he once carried around her; now he looked like a man carved from ice.Tatiana’s legs moved before her mind caught up. She weaved between guests, ignoring the way their eyes followed her—some curious, others mocking.“Miss Richardson?”David's firm voice made her halt, his brows drawn together in controlled surprise. Why was she here again? Didn't she get enough of the humiliation? He managed to keep a calm tone.“You shouldn’t be here,” David said stepping closer. “The scene caused earlier… it’s still f
