Isaac stood still for a long moment after the door closed behind Isabel and Lena. His jaw clenched tight, his hand slowly sliding into his pocket as he exhaled sharply through his nose. The room felt hollow, empty even though the lights were still on and the air smelled faintly of her perfume.
