Isaac barely remembered how his foot pressed against the gas pedal or how many red lights he passed on the way home. His only focus was to get there before her. He had no idea what he would say, only that he had to fix this.

The house was dark when he arrived. The clock in the hallway read 12:36 AM. He checked her room, it was empty. The sheets hadn’t been touched, panic started to crawl under his skin. He checked his phone, quickly dialed Lena.
