This was my idea of celebrating my last night in this world. When my friends suggested we go to a club to celebrate our graduation, I immediately became interested.

"Hey Rose, as the best graduating student the bills will be on you!" Molly, one of my classmates pointed out and the rest agreed with her, do they think I was some sort of rich kid?

Little did they know that the only money I had was the 100 dollars my favorite teacher rewarded me with after being awarded as the best-graduating student. My situation was so bad that even with the college scholarships I'd been offered, I still couldn’t afford transportation as little as that may seem.

I smirked, "that won't be a problem." My confidence was a facade, but they didn't notice.

They cheered as we left the school parking lot together. I followed Molly home to hang out with her until it was time for us to meet up with the others at the club.

My phone kept ringing and ringing but I wasn't going to pick up. "Won't you get that?" Molly asked, gesturing to the phone.

"It's not important." I lied then turned it off.

Today was nothing but the saddest day of my life even if I should be the happiest person.

My sister, the only one who might have attended my graduation had just been admitted to the same hospital as my mom. My mother, battling stage 4 cancer, hadn't been home in months. Now my little sister was sick too, all because I couldn't take proper care of her. I was always buried in part-time jobs, trying to scrape together money for my mom's hospital bills while still paying off the mountain of debt my late father left behind.

Life was cruel. I was too scared to keep living it, and that's why I'd decided to end it. I knew suicide was wrong. But dying felt easier than enduring another day living in debt, so I made the cowardly choice.

I planned to have a perfect ending though, I'd go to the club with my friends, follow a stranger home, lose my virginity, and commit suicide. At least that way I'll experience living before I finally die.

"If they ask for your age, tell them twenty two." Colleen, one of our male friends said and I nodded.

Seemed like they've done this before because am the only one that looks nervous. On top of that, the dress molly have borrowed me was gorgeous but had too much opening and hugged my curves tightly. Not to brag but I knew I was beautiful, my straight blonde hair and curvy figure attracted lots of guys but I always had bigger problems and that's why I never had the luxury to be wild like my friends. Although, tonight that will change.

We flashed them our fake IDs and the bouncers let us in.

Molly dragged me to the bar side and we ordered drinks for everyone. We went to our table, played games as we drank, took shots that seemed excessive but fun, danced like crazy on the dance floor and before we could call it a night it was time for me to pay.

"Not that I don't have money to pay but I'll like to play a game." I faked a smile and looked around the club.

"What game?" Colleen asked.

"It's okay if you can't pay it, we were only joking." Molly cut in.

It was true that I didn't want to embarrass myself by confessing how broke I was but I had an idea and it would be fun if they let me do it.

"That's not the problem." I replied her and looked back at Colleen. "The game I have in mind is to get one of those guys that haven't been able to take their eyes of me to pay our bills."

"Damn girl, let's see you try." He dared me as the rest encouraged me to try.

My eyes ventured around again, looking for the right prey and then it landed on a painfully handsome man. He was sitting alone at the bar stand and drinking, he looked ravishing with the way he sat like the world revolved around him. His midnight black hair fell loosely over his face, the first few buttons of his shirt undone, and his expression distant and unreadable.

"That one."

They all turned to him and back at me. "He looks..." Molly's words stock in her mouth. Am sure she noticed his powerful aura too, "go girl, he's a good catch." She said it like he was some good for tonight’s dinner.

"Be careful, he might be out of your league," Colleen eyed the stranger at a distance just before I stood up and left.

The stranger's eyes looked up and we made our first eye contact, a smug smile formed on his lips as he watched me walk toward him. I immediately became nervous but quickly covered it up as I swayed my hip seductively like I see them do in movies. It seemed to have caught his eyes as he trailed his gaze down.

I acted like I didn't notice him when I got to the bar stand and pretended to wait for the bartender.

"Hello pretty." His deep masculine voice sounded so good, it made my skin tingle like I've not heard a man speak before.

I turned to him casually like he was not affecting me badly. "Hi." I gave him a small smile.

"Don't you think it's boring here?" He asked informally as if we'd met before.

"Yeah, a little." That was not true but if I wanted to be on his good side, I had to agree with him.

"Then we should leave together and have some fun elsewhere." He was so straight to the point, he knew what he wanted and did not want to waste time testing it.

"Well..." I glanced back at my friends. He followed my gaze. "I could come with you, but I need to settle my friends' drinks first."

"I can take care of that for you." He brought out his card and paid for everything without blinking.

"Can we go?" He asked as he returned his card into his pocket.

"Yeah." I signaled my friends that the bills had been handled and I was leaving with him.

As a gentleman surprisingly, he opened the door of his car for me. It seeemed like he was used to this but me on the other hand, I was scared about my reckless behavior and shamefully excited about what was going to happen tonight.

"It's been a while, Rose." His smug face came into view."What are you doing here?" I hardened my voice to let him know I was no longer that stupid teenager he met last summer."Good to see you too." He kissed my cheek in a form of greeting and took a seat on the chair beside my kitchen counter without permission. "You look like you were busy." He eyed the dress shirt I was wearing, then I remembered that Mr. Clifford was in my bedroom."Shit," I muttered under my breath. "Molly, give me a second." Clifford was already awake when I entered the room. "You have visitors?" He began putting on his clothes."Kind of." I shrugged and acted normal like I was not freaking out, then I changed out of his shirt and picked a new, loose summer gown to wear.We walked out of my room together, and I awkwardly introduced him to the so-called visitors."Clifford, this is my best friend, Molly," I said. "And Molly, this is my boss."He gave her a nod while Molly just stood there with her jaw on the fl

Clifford took in my lips with so much longing, his desperate hands caressing my body, looking for bare skin. My hands found his hair as I relaxed in his arms, it was so soft and full I wished I could sweep my fingers through it all day and all night.“Where’s your room?” he asked, out of breath. He followed the direction of my eyes, I didn’t even have to say a word. He pulled me up so I could wrap my legs around his torso while we kissed our way inside my bedroom.I’m glad it was arranged, I wouldn’t want Clifford to feel like I’m a messy child. He stopped for a second to look around. I held my breath, waiting for some kind of approval. He dropped me and walked to my small desk by the window. “This is cute.” A small smile crept up on his lips as he carried the photo to take a better look.“That was last year,” I shyly informed him.It was a picture of Molly and me at her custom birthday party last year, where I had to wear a teddy bear suit as my own costume. He looked up at me and t

“You really want me to answer that?” He briefly looked at me, making it seem like I was supposed to know the answer to that. “Am I not good enough?” My heart broke at the idea of thinking he felt I wasn't a good surrogate to carry his child. Maybe a whore was all he thought I was. He sighed. “That’s not why.” He took a turn for the next street, leading to the hospital where my mum had been admitted. “You’re good, Rose, but you’re just eighteen, and my wife thinks you’re twenty-one. Secondly, I won’t be able to have any sexual relationship with you again because we have to stay professional.” I scoffed, not expecting the last part. He was uncomfortable with me being his surrogate because he didn’t want to stop having sex with me? “I can’t believe you’re thinking of sex in this situation.” “What? You’re a saint now?” He parked the car and turned to meet my eyes. “Tell me you won’t miss my hands on you, Rose.” His fingers grazed my bare skin that wasn't covered by my small summer

“She needs rest, let’s not wake her up now.” The doctor adjusted the tubes by my bedside and left. Clifford sat beside my bed and brought out his phone, he looked down at me and I immediately shut my eyes to keep pretending to sleep. I felt his hands move and his knuckles brushed my cheeks. “You’re so beautiful when you’re asleep.” His deep low voice made goosebumps rise under my skin but I forced myself to not react and stay still. I was not ready to face the fact that I was pregnant. My nerves were seeking a way out to react to this big news, but I needed to stay calm and process things. I still did not know if the baby was mine or if the IVF was a success. If the IVF was a success, that would only mean I’ll have to carry his wife’s baby for nine months, and the thought of it made me cringe. He dialed a number on his phone, and when the receiver picked he sighed like he was holding his breath, the way someone about to lie will do. “Hey, babe.” He stood up. “No, am fine

Prisca took out her frustrations on me, blaming me for it all. She said the other girls were negative too and I was her last hope but she believes I removed the child and that's why I didn't come to the hospital for a check-up. Clifford came to the hospital and saw the whole thing play out, he stopped his wife from hitting me or causing any scene in the hospital. When she calmed down she left without saying another word. "Am sorry about that." He apologized for her. I took in a deep breath and sighed, "It's fine." I forced a smile. "Let me take you home." He offered, I wondered why he was being so nice to me. Does he have feelings for me? I would have loved it if he did, but I didn't want to be with a married man, and to top it all, his age may be double mine. "No thanks." I refused his offer. "I insist." He pressed. "Fine." We got into his car and he dropped me off at the other hospital to see my mother. "Can I offer you the blank check again?" "No thanks." I

"What are you doing here?" He asked. "I should be asking you the same thing." I eyed him. He was looking a bit different in his expensive navy blue suit and his black hair that my hands were in last night was brushed backwards. "This is my home." My surprises today could not end already? "I'll ask you again what are you doing here?" He looked more serious now. I understood how this may seem after I slept with him last night and he gave me a check he might think am here for more because he's a billionaire according to the whispers. "Am here for the job interview, am sorry I didn't know it was your home." I don't even know why I apologized but it just felt right to. "It's fine. I knew you didn't know who I was that's why I took you." "And who are you?" I was curious. "That's not important, the job will give you enough money but what about the check I left you?" He didn't understand why am still looking for a job when I had the advantage of getting any amount of money
