Shawn
I got permission from my commanding officer to wear my uniform for prom. I was on my way in the limo to pick up Beth. I was waiting after ringing the doorbell and Carolyn opens the door. She was speechless, stepping aside to let me in.
"She's finishing her makeup," Mandy says as she descends down the stairs in her prom dress. She takes one look at me and tears fill her eyes. "She's going to be emotional when she sees you."
"Are you riding with us," I ask softly.
"No, I'm going with Annie and some friends. They should be here soon," she says with a smile.
Beth gets halfway down the stairs before she looks at me. She comes to a halt with tears in her eyes. I meet her the rest of the way, stopping so we were eye to eye. "I'm not leaving for a few weeks. This is just to show them that I stand tall after everything, that they shouldn't mess with me or you," I say in a soothing tone, wiping her eyes. "Tonight I'm your soldier."
She takes me in a passionate kiss and I hear as our picture is taken. She breaks from the kiss and we continue down the rest of the stairs. I stood behind her, arms around her waist with her head resting against the front of my shoulder. Her mother takes a few pictures and we leave in our limo.
When we arrive at school our fellow classmates looked at us in awe. All those who bullied me walked up and shook my hand with respect. They thank me for joining the military to serve our country and wish me to return safely to Beth.
She hugs to my left arm and a slow song starts playing. Beth brings me to the middle of the dance floor and brings her arms around my neck. I place my arms at her waist and we sway in a slow circle. Our eyes lock and it was almost as if we were the only two there.
We didn't even realize the music had stopped until our sisters broke our eye contact. "You guys okay? You've been standing there for twenty minutes," Annie says with concern.
"Promise me something," I say quietly and Annie nods lightly. "When I leave, protect her."
"You're coming back Shawn, you promised," Beth chokes, freaking out.
"I will, but I want you looked after while I'm away," I say softly as I take her in my arms. "I don't trust anyone who bullied me not to bother you. They may be showing respect for me now, but once I'm gone they could do something."
"I'll do it," Annie chokes quietly and I nod lightly.
Beth
It was getting towards the end of the night when Mr. Albright called for attention. Shawn wraps around at my back as everything gathers around. "Its time to announce the prom royalty and this is a first time having royals of the same gender. Our royals are Beth Cooper and Shawn Andersen," he says with a smile and everyone erupts in applause.
I look back at Shawn and she looked shocked that her name was called. "Babe, come on," I say with a smile and she looks at me.
We walk up on stage and everyone starts cheering. "Is this a prank," Shawn asks curious and everyone laughs. Tears fill her eyes and jumps off the stage and out of the gym.
"Do you not realize how sensitive she is," I choke with disappointment and go after her with our sisters following us. She was leaning against the big tree in front of the school. "Shawn?"
She looks up with tears in her eyes and asks in a choked whisper, "Will you wait for me? It's two years Beth, will you wait that long?"
"I waited four years to tell you about my feelings, two years is nothing compared to that," I choke quietly, confused why she would ask me this. "You're my first everything Shawn, there is no one else."
"Let's get out of here," she chokes with a smile and gives me a kiss.
When we reach the hotel room our clothes quickly litter the floor. She hoists me up and I wrap my legs around her waist. She was just as gentle and passionate as the night she proposed to me. No need to rush these moments when we're not going to have them for two years.
We both break into sobs as we reach our climax and I pull her in for a kiss as she gently rocks her hips to ride out our orgasm. She looks down at me and asks in a choked whisper, "What are the chances of me coming home to a child?"
"I'm not sure," I choke quietly and she moves so I can lay on her chest. "I'd like to hope I am pregnant before you go."
"We'll do it every night if we have to," she says quietly, stroking my hair.
"Marry me before you go," I choke quietly and look up at her.
"We'll elope in the morning," she says with a smile. "I'll call my parents and they can have it all set up."
"I'll plan the big white wedding while you're away," I choke with a smile as she gets out of bed to call her parents. "Meet me in the shower when you're done for round two."
I was standing under the running water, caressing my stomach when I felt Shawn step up behind me and place her hands over mine. "Its going to be a double wedding tomorrow," she says softly, kissing my shoulder. "Melanie and Abbigail want to get married before we leave too."
"Can we save some of your sperm, please," I choke quietly as I lean against her chest.
"Of course," she says softly and kisses my neck. "You still want another round?"
"Don't hold back," I say in a breathy whisper as I turn to face her.
Melanie
Shawn and I were waiting at the altar, dressed in black suit and ties. Her short hair was slicked back, like Channing Tatum. I had my raven locks pulled back in a military style bun. The girls came into view and both of them were breath taking.
Beth's mother was walking her down the aisle and was handed off to Shawn. Next came Abbigail, walked down by both of her parents. Shawn's parents kissed both our cheeks and we were ready to start the ceremony.
The four of us recited everything we were told and we exchanged rings. We all agreed to save our vows for our real weddings after we finished our tour overseas. "I know pronounce you wives and wives. You may kiss your brides," the officiant says with a smile and we all share our first married kiss. "I give you Mrs. and Mrs. Andersen and Mrs. And Mrs. Jones."
Everyone cheers and we all head back to Shawn's parents house to celebrate our marriages. We leave for training in two weeks and its put us all on edge. I was relaxing with Abbigail when her mother pointed out she was asleep.
She hasn't been sleeping, wanting to spend as much time with me as possible. We've even been constantly active, if you know what I mean. "Melanie," Charlotte asks quietly and I look at her. "Do you plan to finish college when you return?"
"No, I plan to join the police force and make my way to detective," I say quietly and she nods, impressed.
"What about you sweetheart," Joyce asks Shawn, curious.
"I plan to do the same," she says quietly, playing with Beth's hair as she laid in her lap. A hint of a smile flashes her face and says, "I also hope to start a family with my wife."
"What do you think of that Beth," Carolyn asks with a smile.
Tears fill her eyes and I look over to see that Beth had fallen asleep to Shawn playing with her hair. Shawn's mother lets out a laugh and asks, "Did you girls have a nice after prom night?"
"We had an emotional night," she chokes with a smile and it quickly fades as tears fill her eyes. "She wants to save specimen incase something happens to me. Am I making the right choice by joining the military?"
"How does it make you feel Shawn," Peter asks in a soothing tone.
"It makes me feel worthy, like I could make something of myself, something stronger than this broken vessel," she chokes quietly as tears roll down her cheeks.
"How does Beth feel about it," Joyce asks in the same tone as her husband.
"She's terrified," she chokes, voice cracking. "She wants me to stay, but she also knows I'm doing this for her. I want us to have others to show us respect and I feel this is the only way."
"What would you do if Beth sent you a letter saying she was pregnant? What if she finds out before you have to leave," Carolyn asks in a choked whisper. "What about you Melanie? What would you do if the same happens with Abbigail?"
"I'd use that as my will to come home and ask to return home sooner for the sake of my child," Shawn chokes quietly and I nod lightly with agreement. "I don't want my child to grow up being bullied because they have a parent who is intersex."
"I'm going to feel close to my parents," I choke quietly. "I'm hoping to find closure from their deaths. Empty caskets and folded flags only gave me hope they were still alive."
When no one says anything, I scoop Abbigail in my arms and head to the guest house. I curl up with her in my bed and hold her tight against me. I burry my face in her hair and sob quietly. I caress her stomach and thought about a child and what it would be like to raise it with Abbigail.
Abbigail
I woke the next morning and could feel Melanie snuggled at my back. I needed to speak with Beth, but I wasn't sure where I was. I roll to face her and kiss her forehead. I feel her pull me closer to her and lets out a sleepy sigh.
I let out a laugh and say with a smile, "Babe, I need to speak with Beth. Where are we?"
"Guest house, I'll come with you, " she says in a yawn.
I head to her closet and change into a pair of her joggers and a sports tank. I feel arms wrap around my waist with multiple kisses on my neck. "You look sexy in my clothes," Melanie says in a seductive whisper and I shudder in her arms. "I'm going to enjoy taking it off tonight."
"I don't know about tonight, I feel like I'm getting my period," I choke quietly and step away from her.
"Shawn is putting her sperm in a clinic for Beth, incase something happens to her. I want to do the same for you," Melanie says softly as I feel her step closer to me.
I break into uncontrolled sobs and ask between sobs, "Can you please go get Beth?"
"I'll be right back," she says in a soothing whisper and I nod vigorously.
I climb back in bed, hugging my arms around my stomach. I lied, haven't gotten my period since March, a week before my birthday. I just don't know how to tell Melanie when she's leaving in two weeks. I still need to find out for sure, but I know the signs for pregnancy and I've already noticed most of them.
My nipples are sore, I'm constantly feeling tired, can't eat certain things I enjoy eating, not getting my period and getting emotional over little things. I could feel and smell Beth climb in behind me and ask in a choked whisper, "Are we alone?"
"Yes, sweetie what's wrong? Poor Melanie could barely get a word out. Shawn's calming her down as we speak. All we could make out was you wanted me," Beth says in a soothing whisper.
"Can you help me find out if I'm pregnant? I haven't gotten my period since before my birthday and if already recognized most of the symptoms and I didn't know how to tell Melanie because she's leaving. She's leaving Beth and I'm scared, " I choke in uncontrolled sobs.
"Okay, um let me ask Shawn to borrow her car. I'll tell them I'm taking you for a drive and we'll go see your doctor," she says in a soothing tone and I shutter a calming breath. "Good, keep doing that. We don't want to stress the baby if you're pregnant."
I continue taking calming breaths as she went to ask Shawn to use her car. I must have started falling back to sleep because I woke to Beth gently shaking my shoulder. "Hey, you fell asleep. Come on, I have the car," she says in a soothing whisper.
"You should find out too, I know you and Shawn have been going at it," I choke quietly.
"We were using protective sex until she proposed. I don't think it'll show on a test this early, its barely been three weeks," she chokes quietly and I could tell she wanted a baby with Shawn. She's just as scared as I am.
BethI was sitting with Abbigail in the doctor's office, both of us waiting on our blood test results. We brought Mandy with us when I started to get anxious about possibly being pregnant. Abbigail made it sound like she wanted the extra support. Shawn was okay with us taking her car, knowing that we both probably needed a minute to ourselves after what we've been through these last few weeks since prom night. Abbigail had calmed down with the drive here, but as we sat and waited for the results, my nerves have been on edge. I almost jumped out of my skin when the doctor entered the office and Mandy came to calm me down. Abbigail and I held hands while she opened both envelopes and smiles. Her lips moved, but no sound came out. I didn't need sound to know both of us were pregnant.I gingerly pull my hand from Abbigail and step out in the hall. I bring my hands to either my stomach or my mouth as silent sobs escape my lips. I never expected to find out before she left to join the mili
BethIt was the night before Shawn and Melanie left for basic training. Unfortunately they weren't able to postpone their tour. They had to act fast for this mission before the window of opportunity closed. They were granted permission to return home in six months to be with us for the remaining of our pregnancies and stay with us six weeks after our babies are born. I was devastated when she broke the news a few days ago and we've been inseparable ever since. We skipped graduation and stayed cuddled in her bed. We just finished making love and I was propped up against the headboard with Shawn between my legs on her stomach. Her arms were wrapped around my waist planting gentle kisses all over my stomach. I play my fingers through her hair as she whispers to Jordan. She's promising to return home safely and to write letters or video chat as often as she can.Tears roll down my cheeks and she looks up at me with a smile. I smile through the tears and she moves up to give me a kiss. It
BethAfter the mind-blowing sex with Melanie, we decide to go check on Shawn and Abbigail. Melanie quietly opens the door and to both our surprise, they were passed out with Shawn still deep inside Abbigail. Melanie and I leave the room, quietly closing the door. I look up at her and notice the tears in her eyes. I take her hand and bring her back to the living room.I make her look me in the eyes and the tears roll down her cheeks. They weren't tears of jealousy, they were genuine. My only thoughts were of how close it was that she and Shawn were supposed to be on a plane that crashed, leaving no survivors. If I hadn't over stressed about the bad feeling, they'd be dead right now and we wouldn't have done what we just did.I look away as tears of my own fall rapidly down my cheeks and Melanie takes me in her arms. Uncontrolled sobs cause my shoulders to shake violently as I hug my arms to my stomach. My baby could have lost their father and it was hitting me hard. Melanie did her bes
ShawnWe arrive at the basic training camp and the girls looked ready to pass out. Our commanding officer greeted us and showed us the house we'd be sharing on base. He apologized to Beth and Abbigail for the close call about my and Melanie's flight we missed. He was happy to hear the baby was doing okay and bid us time to rest. Our training would start tomorrow at 05:00 hours (military time for 5am).Right now it was an hour before they served lunch, but said it would be fine to let the girls rest and we could eat once they slept. Beth thanked him and I guide her up to bed as Melanie does the same for Abbigail. Beth didn't even bother to change into different clothes, just stripped down to her underwear. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she was out. I climb in next to her and soon followed suit.By the time we all woke up, it was time for dinner. Beth and I took a quick shower before we all head to the dining hall with the rest of the recruits. Beth lead Abbigail to an open table
BethI was waiting alone while Abbigail had the implant surgery. Flashes of that dreadful night cloud my mind and I couldn't shake them. (Flashback)I was getting a drink for me and Abbigail when I heard my mother scream my name in fear. I turn in time to stare wide-eyed at the firework heading right where I was standing. I was frozen in fear to move and feel someone tackle me out of the way. I hit my head on the ground, stunned for a few minutes.A light shining in my eyes made me turn my head away, squinting. "Minor concussion from the tackle, some rest should be fine," a doctor says as I realize I'm in a hospital bed."Where am I? What happened to me," I ask in a frantic tone."Sweetheart, you're in the hospital," my mother chokes with relief. "Abby tacked you out of the way of a stray firework. She saved your life Beth.""Is she okay? Can I see her," I ask in broken sobs."She's in the bed next to you," Aunt Charlotte chokes quietly."Aunt Charlotte, I'm so sorry," I choke betwee
BethShawn ended in a coma after taking bullets while carrying Melanie's father back to base. Melanie still blames herself and it's been six weeks. Since Shawn was healed of all her sustained injuries internally from the bullets, I was able to take her back to America, where she was continue her endless slumber at the hospital. The military is paying for her life support given she has a good chance of waking up. Jordan has been growing nicely in my belly, the only thing that brings a smile to my face while Shawn lays in the hospital wasting away. I woke up this morning to his first tiny kick. I broke into uncontrolled sobs and my mother runs in, taking me in her arms without question. I don't let her feel my stomach and she leaves it be. The kicking picked up as if Jordan was trying to comfort me from the inside.I shutter a calming breath and my mother kisses my temple, stroking my hair. "It's okay Beth, you're home now," she says in a soothing whisper and I relax in her arms."I'm
AbbigailBeth has been distant since Melanie told us Shawn was shot on the return to base. I can't say I blame her, I would be distant too if it were Melanie. Since we arrived back in America she's been sleeping in Shawn's room. On my way to say goodnight to her before joining Melanie in the guest house, I'd pause outside the door and listen to her beg God to give Shawn back.I let myself in and climb in the bed to face her. Her eyes were wet, a deep sadness in them I wish I could wipe away. She was clutching onto Shawn's hoodie, a wet spot visible from where her face had been buried into it while crying. Melanie slips in the bed behind her and she shutters a calming breath. I wipe her eyes and watch as they close with her letting out a sleepy sigh.I kiss my cousin's forehead and hold hands with her as she falls asleep, like we always do when one of us is hurting. I look behind her at Melanie and could see she felt something for Beth. I don't say anything about it because I'd be a hy
****before I start this next chapter I just wanted to send out a thank you to one of my readers. The last few days since I updated The Dhampir I was struggling a severe anxiety attack. I felt like I was drowning, but I was able to get through it. I wouldn't have gotten through it without the comforting comments. I just want you all to know that words carry meaning, rather they be good or bad they still leave an impact. So without further ado here is the next chapter. Enjoy****AbbigailI just found out I'm having triplets. I'M HAVING TRIPLETS! Oh my God. Why didn't they notice it in Afghanistan? I'm freaking out, but immediately calm down for the babies. I was in the bathroom, needing a moment alone to gather myself before joining the others. I asked to keep the triplets secret until things with Shawn calmed down.I smile lightly in the mirror as tears fill my eyes. I caress my stomach, letting out a calming breath. The door opens behind me as Beth walks in. She looks at me through th
