Food or Lover (2)

Ringo wasn't expecting the bloodsucking culprit to know his name and immediately, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. "You know me?"

Michael swallowed. His thirst was at its peak and this exorcist had rose blood. "Run... get away from here or stab me..."

Noticing that something was off about the vampire, Ringo paid attention to his erratic behaviour and frowned. Was he hunting? Sadly, the exorcist didn't have much time to interrogate the suspicious vampire.

Michael watched as Ringo struggled to break free of his hold with a clouded vision. The smell of blood grew stronger and he could hear the heart pumping tantalisingly in Ringo's rib cage. Shiro wasn't here today and it was bad. If the fox demon was here, he could easily teleport the human away with him. Ringo might be an exorcist but he was still human. Against a powerful alpha vampire, he didn't stand a chance.

Ringo threw all sorts of spells and talismans when he understood what was happening. The starving vampire had lost all rationality and was now looking at him as a prey. The omega felt himself grow weak when Michael's alpha pheromones overpowered his instincts, making him submit involuntarily. Thirst and dominance often went hand in hand.

Ringo shut his eyes, looking away. He was simply unfortunate. The plan was for him to come to Time Cross Academy and seduce a powerful spirit so that he can gain a powerful shinigami to help him become the successor of his family's shrine. With the weakening magic on Earth, exorcists no longer had the ability to make contracts with powerful spirits. Ringo's birth and awakening as an omega, the first of its kind in his family, was a miracle and they placed their hopes on him when he received an invitation to attend Time Cross Academy.

Now, that hope was robbed from him as he felt the tip of Michael's fangs piercing through his skin. A metallic smell quickly filled the air, minding with the scent of the alpha's pheromones and triggering his omega's sweet fragrance to permeate in the air.

As if his body was electrified, Ringo's mouth fell open in a silent scream as his eyes looked up into the starry night sky. Like poison, the bite started off painful but was quickly numbed when the vampire's venom entered his bloodstream. Ringo could feel and hear his blood getting sucked out of his body but he was too weak to do anything with the feverish feeling of his highly aroused state. He couldn't tell how much blood was sucked but he knew he was feeling more and more light-headed as Michael continued to drink.

By the time Michael quenched his thirst, he was feeling high and slightly drunk from such high-quality blood after a long time. In his arms was the human exorcist, unconscious. Ringo looked deathly pale and Michael panicked. He listened to the dull heartbeat and knew that he had no time to waste.

Not bothering to conserve his powers at all, Michael quickly dashed to the infirmary with the boy in a princess carry. Although the bleeding had stopped, the exorcist was very cold. Michael gnashed his teeth. He had taken too much blood and lost control of himself. As one of the older vampires, he was ashamed to be behaving like a fledgling, giving in to his instincts so easily. It was truly a blessing that Ringo wasn't dead. Murder on the academy grounds wasn't allowed. Nobody wanted to face Amanda Lucifer's wrath.

The doctor was a kind of magical snow-white bird with healing powers called a Caladrius that the principal rescued and he became a permanent staff at the infirmary in the academy. His name was Iason and he was a beta.

Poor Iason was ready to sleep when the door to his office was kicked down. The poor bird's feathers were ruffled when the vampire yelled for help. Without hesitation, he pulled on his white coat and gloves to ready himself for an emergency job.

The human omega didn't look good and smelling the blood on the vampire, Iason could guess what happened. The bite on Ringo's neck wasn't deep but it was considered a marking bite. Students who did not register as a couple were not allowed to mark and mate, this was a clear violation of the rules and even if it was an accident, he had to report it to Amanda.

"Put him on the bed," the Caladruis said. Michael obeyed without questions even though he was worried.

The healer worked quickly and poured light healing magic into Ringo's body to restore the dangerous level of blood until a healthier colour appeared on his face. Michael never once let go of the exorcist's other hand and repeated his apologies feverishly. With Iason's skills, Ringo was soon out of danger but remained asleep.

"He's out of the woods now," the doctor said and sighed. "What happened? You know that marking an omega without registering is against the rules, right? I would have to report this to the principal tomorrow morning."

Michael looked remorseful. "I was hunting but he appeared and attacked me, letting my prey run. I had been starved and the bloodlust took over. Before I knew it, he was lying in my arms like a corpse. I-I didn't mean to..."

Nodding in understanding and pity at the alpha vampire, the doctor told him to return to the dormitory for the rest of the night.

"Rest up tonight. The principal might call you in tomorrow if he is feeling well enough. It's a serious matter that must be discussed. The principal might not punish both of you because she is understanding but there will be consequences."

Michael looked conflicted but agreed and gave Ringo a last glance before leaving for the night. Iason watched the alpha leave and turned his attention to the omega. The mark on his neck was only a temporary one but he knew that the exorcist wouldn't be happy about it. If the little one had the chance, he would run for it. Unfortunately for him, Iason didn't have any intentions on letting him escape.

"Asahina? Yes, I have a case. I'm surprised it took so long for the first case to happen but please inform the principal that the alpha Michael from class 1-A and the omega Ringo from class 1-C are involved with an accident. Michael accidentally marked him on a hunt. I don't know why they were loitering outside of the dormitories but I'm leaving it to Ms Lucifer to decide."

The bat secretary assured him that she would take over with the investigations and Iason ended the phone call. Now that his job was officially done, Iason yawned and went back to his bed in the room attached to his office.
