GABRIELLE’S POV

Damon walked ahead of me into the plane, taking my Birkin from me after muttering under his breath about how I was slowing us down.

I wore a hoodie and sweat pants, and a big, dark sunglass covered half my face. I couldn’t let anyone see the dark circles from crying all night.

Especially Damon.

“You can rest in the room, Gabrielle. There’s a bed there so you can get some sleep before we land,” he said, opening the door to said room for me.

It was a luxurious master bedroom in the nose of the jet.

“This room wasn’t here before,” I said.

“That was a different plane,” he responded, dropping my bag on the bed. “A cheaper one. You couldn’t sleep last night?”

I lay on the bed without taking the glasses off. “I slept well,” I lied.

He didn’t respond.

I watched him arrange our bags and my mind briefly went to the day before.

He was right.

I shouldn’t care about Emily anymore but I just couldn’t help it. She was not just my only sibling, she

GABRIELLE’S POV Anya raised her head. “Ah, Gabrielle. You look rough. Are you good?” I stood by the door, my hand gripping tightly around the door knob. “I’m fine. Just wondering what’s happening here.” She stood up and walked over the closet room. “Didn’t Lila tell you her birthday was coming up?” “Yay! Birthday,” Lila squealed in her father’s arm. Damon flipped through her storybook, obviously not interested in the conversation. Anya walked back into the room. “So I decided to come stay here for a few days. She always celebrates her birthday her with her daddy and her friends.” Oh. That made sense. But something about it didn’t seem right with me. “That’s very nice,” I said, watching her check her reflection in the mirror. “When did you get here? I can have Susan clean up one of rooms for you.” She waved her hand at me. “Nonsense. I’m not a guest, Gabrielle. You don’t have to host me. I once lived here too.” Her words hit something in my chest. I look

GABRIELLE’S POV I faced him slowly, my face still teary. I had put the call on speaker mid-conversation with Jared, and I knew he must have heard that last line. He stepped closer and his cologne filled my senses. The look on his face couldn’t be described as annoyed. Angry was also an understatement. He had warned me never to speak about Jared or say his name again, but what I did was worse. I spoke to him. I swallowed and took some steps back nervously until my waist hit the sink. “I didn’t… Damon…” I breathed. He tilted his head slightly, his voice so cold it made my skin crawl. “That was your ex, right?” I nodded. “Yes, it was Ja— I mean, yes. That was him.” He didn’t respond. He stood there staring at me, his jaw tight and his fist clenched like he was holding himself back. “I didn’t call him, he called me. And my sister was missing—,” I trailed off, realizing how pathetic and weak I sounded even to my own ears. “Why does he still have access to

GABRIELLE’S POV The night went away but the feeling remained. Today was a new day so I decided to get my ass out of bed and try new things after Damon left for his meeting. “I can’t believe you gave the staff the day off. Damon is a lucky man to have a good cook for a wife,” Fiorella said as we got out of the car. I almost laughed. “I’m not a good cook. In fact, I almost burned down Father’s house one time I tried making eggs.” She turned to me. “Who fucks up eggs?” “Me.” “How?” “Now, you have the right to be curious as to how that happened but I’ll be taking that one to my grave.” She smiled but didn’t press. We entered the kitchen where I would be attempting to make Damon alfredo pasta. Fiorella dropped the grocery bags on the kitchen counter before lighting up a joint she pulled from her pocket. I frowned. “Really? Smoking pot in the kitchen after I told you I almost burnt down the house trying to cook?” She shrugged. “Damon can buy another house.”

GABRIELLE’S POV I moved closer to take him in my mouth. He pulled back. Maybe he wanted to tease me, to make me beg. I salivated at the sight before me and moved closer again. He pulled away. Again. “Why won’t you stay still?” I asked, my voice smaller than I would have liked. He leaned down. “You won’t get it easily.” His hand left my hair as he took a few paces back and sat on the couch. “Crawl to me.” My throat ran dry. I swallowed. “What?” His hand closed around his length, stroking himself slowly. It was the first time I was finally seeing his cock. And it only made me want it more. A frown formed on his face. “You know I don’t like repeating myself. Crawl or me. In fact never mind that, get on the bed and spread your legs wide open for me.” I turned to the bed and back at me. “There’s blood on it.” “Get on the bed, Gabrielle,” he commanded again. “And spread your legs open for me.” My face flushed but I moved anyway. I lay on the bed, spre

GABRIELLE’S POVDamon didn’t come home last night and I wasn’t even a bit surprised he didn’t bother calling to tell me. But tonight, he had to come home to get some files for his meetings. The earlier he finished his business, the earlier we could leave New York. I stood by the balcony waiting for Damon to come home. Fiorella had long gone to bed and I opened a fresh bottle of wine after we had shared one. A man in his late twenties, Karl, was sitting on my bed, shirtless and staring at me. “You look beautiful in that robe just sitting there like a bored housewife,” he said, a smile on his face. It was refreshing to see him smile. Damon never smiled. He smirked, teased, and taunted me but he never fully smiles.“You have a bored housewife fantasy?” I asked. He stood up and walked closer, the moonlight casting a shadow over his frame. He had his charms and was incredibly sexy but I could only get turned on for Damon. Something had to be wrong with me. “Bored housewives are my
