Chapter 5 : I want more

last update Last Updated: 2024-04-09 14:32:25

Bryan's POV.

The fact that she said I was too young to live alone baffles me, that seems like I was rejected without even confessing, but I don't care. I knew if I tried my luck she might forget our age difference, and see me as a man.

'I won't back down without a fight, it's worth trying' I thought, smiling.

“I am honored,” I said with a smile.

“It's fine,” She said, and we concluded. I stood up to leave her office, but I halted my steps when I got to the door and turned around, my gaze met hers and she smiled lightly.

“Can I get a hug please?” I requested politely, trying my luck. I thought she would say no, but I was surprised when she stood up from her seat and embraced me.

I felt like my heart skipped for a while, and my heart raced abnormally, her hair shampoo misty smell hit my nose, which made me feel more attracted to that soul, her slender fingers brushed through my back, and I sniffed the sweet smell coming from her body which was more like jasmine, not to talk of how she sweetly embraced me, it was so comforting, ‘i can stay like this forever' I thought.

I slyly smirked like I just had a silent victory, ‘I will gladly use this opportunity well’ I thought.

“Thanks, ma'am. It means a lot to me,” I expressed with a deep voice, and I really meant it.

After I said that, she hurriedly disengaged the hug, and nodded like she was affected by something.

“Thank you, ma'am,” I said again.

“You are welcome, Mr Lopez,” she said, and I nodded. I left her office after I exchanged gazes with her.

I went back to my lecture hall for another course, and as always Ivy kept bugging me and clinging onto me, even when I ignored her.

After some time, lecture hours were over, and I went back to my apartment and got something sorted with the boys. That evening was so lovely as I watched the sunset on the street. I remember the hug I shared with her.

“I want more,” I mumbled to myself and smiled happily, I knew my chances to get closer to her were high, especially now that she thought I needed help, ‘I wish it would work out' I thought.

I went to my bathroom and started bathing, but all of a sudden I felt a fragile hand caressing my back, and I immediately turned around, and there was no one there. ‘It’s just a delusion’ I thought.

“Why can't I get you out of my mind, Miss Professor,” I mumbled under the shower.

After some time, I came out of the shower with my hair dripping wet, and a towel was wrapped around my waist.

I got into my bedroom, and I heard my phone beep. I went to pick up my phone to check the notification, but a call distracted me, “grrr,” my phone rang, and I checked the caller ID, it was someone familiar, and I picked it up.

“Hello, Mr Lopez,” the man From the other end said. “Hello,” I said flatly.

“The stock price has risen, I will carry out the plan,” the man said from the other end.

“Okay,” I replied nonchalantly and ended the call.

I tossed the phone aside, and got dressed in a comfy indoor outfit, and embraced my bed, and stared at the dress I wore that day, and smiled, “I can't get enough of her fragrant,” I mumbled and slept off.

The next day,

I woke early feeling agile, and excited to go to school, but I knew it was another day to look like I had a problem. I dressed up, trying to look mature and disheveled.

I did all I could do to make my dress look unusual, so I could have her attention. After checking myself out in the mirror, I prepared to leave for school.

*****

I got to my lecture hall and I went inside.

“Baby,” I heard a familiar voice calling from behind, I ignored it knowing who said it, but I wasn't in the mood for her trouble.

“Why aren't you answering me? I've been calling you before you entered, but you just snubbed me,” Ivy said, and I just looked at her like I didn't understand a single word she was saying.

“Do you want to continue like this? You know you can't ignore me forever, right?” She said, but I didn't reply to her, and that got her even more angry, but I still did not care.

“Bryan, are goi___” she was saying, but a lecturer came in, and we began to receive the lecture, but the witch behind me didn't let me rest and kept bugging me with questions, but I tried to control my temper till the lecture ended.

The lecture ended and people left the lecture hall one after the other, but Ivy refused to leave, and I knew what her intentions were. I waited till everyone left to take their naps in their different spots, and the lecture was now silent so that a pin could make a sound.

Then I turned to Ivy, with a serious look and she was taken aback by the way I looked at her because she had reached my level of patience for her.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” She said nervously.

“Ivy, this is the last time I'm going to warn you, I won't warn you again, stay away from me, this break should be respected, and if you don't want me to disgrace you, don't you ever distract me in class again,” I said with a stern gaze, and she was speechless.

I turned around and was about to leave the class, but her voice made me halt my steps, “it is because of her, right?” She asked, but it doesn't sound like a question, it's something she was sure of.

“It's not a question, I guess,” I said, and left the hall.

The doctor became silent. “What's wrong, say something doctor!” I panicked.“She inhales a lot of smoke, and she bled too much, the fetus is at risk, and it is dangerous for her health so we might consider an abortion to make her safe,” he said.My jaw dropped hearing that I knew how much Giselle wanted a baby, but knowing I was the cause of all the circumstances I felt horrible.“Is there no other way?” I asked. “There is, but the patient's life will be at risk; she might not make it,” the doctor said.I shook my head unconsciously. “I don't want to lose her,” “Wh____ Dr. Niel!” I wanted to talk, but I was interrupted by a nurse coming

I knew Bryan's determination can't be altered even by his parents so I didn't plan to approach his mother again since it would not work.I started thinking of a way to stop their engagement or whatever they were planning to do. “What can stop a wedding from happening?” I asked my maid unconsciously.“If the bride decided to show up or the groom, no wedding was held without the couples,” she said, and that rang a bell. I left the mall, and then I decided to go out with the boys because he needed it. I picked up my phone and dialed Kevin's number. He picked up after some time. “Hello,” I said, and I expected Kevin to talk from the other end, but he didn't. “Are you okay?” I asked worriedly. “I am fine,” he said with a weak voice from the other end. “What's wrong with you?” I asked, but then I remembered that such questions didn't benefit such communication methods. “Let's meet up,” I said. “Okay, our bar,” he said from the other end. I ended the call and called Sebastian. “Hey buddy,” he said from the other end. “Hi,” I said. “What's up?”! His voice was low and uncheerful. “How are you?” I asked. “I am feeling great.,” He said, but he didn't sound alright.
