Living The Past

Adi twisted the fork in his hands as he thought of the time when Faith had agreed to marry Andrew. He was the one who had pushed her into Andrew's arms figuratively and that was his biggest regret now. It was his own cowardice that stared back at him every time he met them and saw her. He always thought to himself that he would be happy seeing her happy but every time he had seen her hold Andrew's hand and smile, he had only hated himself.

Looking up, he saw that the restaurant was serving the Trifle Pudding today. The mere sight of the pudding took him back a few years ago.

He had already moved onto the campus and taken to stay with Faith's family during the weekends. Though his coursework barely allowed him to take time off, he realized that he could not stay away for longer times as he would miss the homely feeling he had there. And thus he would pull all-nighters just so he would have the weekend free.
