ODETTE

"Come on, Luna. I’m taking you home." Bastian’s gentle voice reached me from somewhere beside the bed.

I blinked my eyes open, my head felt so damn hurt. As soon as I tried to stand, the room spun violently and I lost my balance.

Thankfully, Bastian was quick to catch me before I could hit the floor. "Careful, Luna,"

I took in my surroundings slowly. I was in a modest bedroom. This wasn’t my room at the mansion and it certainly wasn’t my parents’ house either.

"Where am I?" I rasped, my throat raw and dry.

Suddenly, I remember the reason for the throbbing pain in my head. Last night I was drinking so much until I got drunk and lost my consciousness. I had thrown myself into the chaos in an attempt to drown the fury I felt for Frederick.

He had humiliated me in front of our friends for something that wasn’t even wrong. I was only trying to do what was right as his Lune. Tessa was the one who deserved that punishment. That sly little fox. Not me, the Luna.

GABRIEL“By the time Frederick gets back and sees we’ve kept the pack from falling apart, he's going to kiss the floor we walk on.” Bridget chuckled, pulling off her glasses and stacking papers. “That’s only if he doesn’t dig up some details we missed. How’s the cash flow looking?”“Stable like usual.” She clipped the files together, slid them into a folder, and filed them away. Then she sighed and pressed her fingers to the bridge of her nose. I noticed the dark circles under her eyes.“You always do everything so perfectly. Seriously, how do you not lose your mind staring at numbers all day? I’d rather wrestle a rogue than sort through even one budget report.” I asked as we exited her room and headed down the headquarters' corridor. She glanced sideways at me, “I think it’s a hobby."“Yeah. A very rare hobby."“When I realized there was another way to serve the pack without always being on the front lines I jumped at it,” I nodded. Bridget can fight just fine, but blood was her b

ODETTEFrederick’s decision to move me out of the mansion had truly turned my life into hell. I couldn’t return to my parents’ home, it would be too humiliating, I couldn’t bear the thought of my reputation being stained. So, instead, I chose to stay in one of the vacant packhouses, tucked among the rest of the pack members. At first, they were stunned to have their Luna living in such proximity. But that awe didn’t last cause word spreads so quickly in the pack. The she-wolves began to gossip, saying Frederick no longer wanted me, that my time in the prime had passed, and I was on the verge of being cast aside. At first, I just ignore them. But they were pushing boundaries and if I didn’t put a stop to it soon, they’d go too far. How dare they think they could sneer at me behind my back?My head throbbed thinking about it so this morning, I let my wolf run wild through the open fields. Hours passed and when I finally felt calm enough, I decided it was time to return to the packhouse

VELMARAI blinked and looked up at him.I didn't expect to hear an apology so easily, this man is Frederick Alonso. I couldn’t stop the flicker of amusement that stirred in my chest.“I know this won’t be enough to make you feel safe,” He continued, his voice almost reassuring. “But I can say their numbers are dwindling. We’re still hunting them down, we'll clear them out until there’s nothing left.”I gave a small nod. Honestly, I would have been safe if I had just stayed here in my own home. But staying here wasn’t always easy. Sometimes restlessness tugged at me, a constant itch beneath my skin. And the urge to travel and wander into the territories of werewolf packs was something I could never quite resist.I suppose living alone for most of my life only deepened the feeling. Watching wolves live in packs with their friends and families, their instinct to protect one another feels comforting, something I longed for in quiet moments.“At least you're trying,” I said softly. “At lea

FREDERICKI remained silent, not sure how she could possibly know all of that. She had been living in this secluded place or so I believed. But now it was clear she hadn’t truly been staying here. This woman must have traveled to some werewolf packs.“Tessa doesn’t deserve to be marked by someone like him. He would only use her." I said, my voice trembling. I couldn’t contain the fury that surged through me like wildfire. "He wanted her at his side for what she could offer him.”And no, this wasn’t about her being my mate. My wolf had flared with jealousy when I learned about the mark, but even beneath that, I knew it wasn’t right. She couldn’t belong to Zade. “I understand. Your pack has long been at odds with his, hasn’t it? And besides, the regret of rejecting what Selene fated for us often comes too late.” There was something in the way she said it, she meant to sound matter-of-fact. But I didn’t miss the glint of amusement in her eyes nor the faintly mocking curve of her lips.

FREDERICKI had let Tessa go off to relieve herself for privacy. I hadn't wanted her wandering off alone but what choice did I have? Now, as the minutes dragged on, unease twisted in my gut. She was taking too long. What could be holding her up?My eyes fixed on the path she’d taken, debating whether or not I should go after her. 'You shouldn’t have let her go off by herself,' Nyx growled in the back of my mind.I clenched my jaw, irritation flaring. 'Don’t start with that again.''It’s for her safety. I didn’t mean anything else,' He said, quieter this time.Damn it. He was right.Anxiety tightened in my chest, without another thought, I turned and strode in the direction she’d gone. My eyes darted over the dim landscape, shadows stretching longer now that night had fallen. I shouldn't've let her wander off alone.“Tessa!” I called out.But all around me there was only silence. My ears strained as I sharpened my senses to catch even the faintest trace of her scent.Nothing.“Tessa,

TESSAOnce Frederick gave me the direction, I let Aurora take the lead and I could feel it we were getting closer and closer to our destination. We ran and ran from the moment the sun was still low in the sky until it now hovered once again near the western horizon. Finally, I stopped to catch my breath. Frederick’s wolf came to a halt beside me. Aurora stirred within me, but she was suddenly shy, hesitant to even glance his way.'He’s so handsome, Tessa.'I rolled my eyes. 'You’re allowed to look. Just don’t get any ideas.''Why not?' She huffed, 'Mates do a lot more than just look. I wouldn’t mind a little brush of fur with him. I can smell that wants us too.'She flicked her thick tail like she was flirting. 'Aurora! You little flirt! Stop it.''What? I’m just being honest. He looks at us like he wants to devour us.' She purred with a giggle. 'You felt that too, didn’t you?''Okay enough. I’m taking control now.'I seized control and shifted back into my human form. Beside me, F
