I died as Becky, but woke up as Karen, a low-ranking Omega servant in a werewolf novel. Unfortunately, I know exactly how my story ends. King Talon NightBane, the ruthless Lycan King, is destined to kill me for daring to cross him. So my plan is simple: keep my head down, avoid the king, and stay alive until I can escape back to my world. But then I meet his six-year-old son. The little prince is lonely, terrified of his own father, and desperate for someone to love him. I should stay away, but I can't bring myself to abandon him. Now the king has noticed me. One wrong word could cost me my life. And when his wolf begins to see me as something more than a disobedient servant, escaping the palace becomes even harder. I came here to survive, not to become the mate of the most dangerous man in the kingdom. But what happens when the man destined to kill me is also the man fate wants me to love?

Inside A Novel

Chapter One

"Does this man have a problem with breathing?"

My mouth fell open as the latest chapter of the werewolf novel lit up my tablet. This tyrant king had just ordered another servant to be whipped for accidentally interrupting him.

"Seriously? What is wrong with this man?"

I scrolled back to the beginning, hoping there had been some misunderstanding. But no. The servant had simply entered the room at the wrong time while the king was speaking to his officials.

And now she was going to be punished for it.

"Someone needs to take that crown away from you," I snapped. "What the hell?"

Choosing this novel was beginning to feel like a mistake, but so many chapters had already been read that abandoning it now was impossible. Besides, there was still the question of how the author intended to give this horrible man a happy ending.

Even his six-year-old son was terrified of him!

That part was impossible to forget. Adin was just a child, yet he could barely speak freely around his own father.

"What kind of father makes his child scared to laugh?"

The thought alone made me angry. If I ever found myself in that kingdom, living in the forest would be far better than working in the tyrant's palace.

I continued reading until a glance at the time nearly sent me jumping out of my seat.

"Shit. It's already time for work.

An important meeting was scheduled for that morning, and the last thing needed was arriving late because of a fictional king who clearly needed therapy.

The bathroom became a blur of hurried movements. After brushing my teeth and taking a quick shower, I threw on the first decent outfit I could find.

The moment the car started, Daniel's call came through.

"You're aware the meeting starts in thirty minutes, right?"

A glance at the clock made me groan. "Daniel, please don't start. I'll be there."

He went quiet.

"Just make sure the documents are ready. I'll call you when I arrive."

The call ended, and the car pulled into the road. Traffic was already beginning to build, so every minute mattered. While driving, my thoughts drifted back to the unfinished novel.

What had Talon done after ordering the servant away? Honestly, the man was exhausting. Living under his rule sounded unbearable, especially for an Omega who had to serve him.

A shake of my head did nothing to chase away the thought of Adin.

Poor child.

At the next junction, the red light forced the car to stop. That was when I remembered the comments beneath the latest chapter. The tablet was at home, but the phone was beside me. Just a quick look, I thought, reaching for it.

A deafening horn shattered the silence. And my eyes snapped toward the road.

A truck was speeding straight toward the car.

"Oh, my God.”

The steering wheel jerked beneath my hands as I swerved, desperately trying to avoid the collision. There was nowhere to go. The truck slammed into the car, sending it spinning across the road before crashing against the roadside barrier.

My head struck the window, and everything went dark.

"Karen! Wake up!"

A groan escaped my lips as I turned my head, hoping whoever was shouting would leave me alone.

"Karen, get up."

My eyes opened slowly. A young woman stood beside the bed, looking impatient.

Where was this place? I tried sitting up but a sharp pain shot through my body, forcing me to grip the mattress.

"Careful," the girl said, reaching out to help. You were beaten yesterday. You shouldn't move so quickly."

"Beaten?"

She nodded, staring as though I had suddenly lost my mind.

"Don't tell me you've forgotten what happened. You interrupted His Majesty while he was addressing the royal officials. Everyone knows how he reacts to such disrespect."

His Majesty? Royal officials?

The unfamiliar room came into focus. The girl wore a long dress with an apron tied around her waist, and everything looked like something straight out of a historical movie.

"Where am I?"

Her expression changed. "Karen, are you feeling alright?"

Karen?

The name sounded strange. Pushing the blanket aside, I intended to stand, but froze at the sight of my body. My stomach was fuller, my arms thicker, and my hands looked nothing like the ones I remembered.

My breathing quickened.

"Where is the mirror?"

The girl pointed toward the other side of the room. Despite the pain, I hurried over.

The moment my reflection came into view, a scream nearly escaped my throat.

The woman staring back at me was plus-size, with a round face, full cheeks, and unfamiliar features.

That wasn't me.

A step backward nearly sent me stumbling.

"What the hell is going on?"

The girl rushed toward me. "Karen, please! You need to calm down. If the guards hear you, they might report you again."

I grabbed her arm, trying to know who the king was. "Who is the king?" I asked curious

But she stared at me in disbelief.

"His Majesty, King Talon NightBane."

My blood ran cold, Talon NightBane?

No. There was no way. This had to be a dream..mor a nightmare. The mirror, the strange room, the girl holding my arm. Everything felt too real, yet none

of it made sense.

A horrible possibility began forming in my mind.

And if the thought taking shape in my head was correct, then I was in serious trouble.
