ELDER ZHOU

Elder Zhou sat at the head of the table, having breakfast with his family. He was a tall man in his mid-fifties, with sharp grey eyes and dirty blonde hair streaked with gray. He was wise, calm, and respected. He was one of the King’s most trusted men and had served him for many years. When the King was dying, Elder Zhou had been one of the few who fought hard to find him a mate, someone who could help heal him and give him an heir.

This morning, his face was different. His usual serious look had changed into a soft smile. His eyes were warm, and he seemed happy.

His mate, Kaida, looked at him with surprise. She was also in her fifties, with short brown hair and green eyes. It had been a long time since she last saw him smile like this.

“You look happy this morning, my Lord,” she said gently. “Can you share your joy with us?”

Their daughter Lyra also looked curious. She was in her mid-twenties, a beautiful young woman with deep blue eyes and ginger-brown hair. She wa

AYLA Ayla walked into the King’s room with quiet confidence. She looked beautiful and calm, her steps light, yet steady. Her golden hair was neatly braided and wrapped in a bun. She wore her healer robes, and her face glowed softly under the morning sun shining through the window. “Good morning, my King,” she said gently, bowing her head with respect. “I’m sorry I didn’t come earlier. From today forward, I will be the one taking care of your health. I hope that’s alright with you?” The chamber became silent. The King sat up in his bed, his back resting against the headboard. He looked at her with his calm grey eyes but said nothing. Ayla took his silence as a sign of agreement. She turned her attention to the three royal healers who stood near the King’s bed. “I am truly sorry,” she said to them respectfully, bowing slightly. “You’ve all done well. But from now on, I’ll be the one looking after him. Please, give us a moment.” The healers nodded in silence and stepped back. Ay

“May the goddess be praised,” Elder Asher whispered, eyes wide with wonder. “The King is awake,” another elder added, unable to hide the relief in his voice. But Ayla wasn’t paying attention to them. Her hand was still trapped in the King’s strong grip. She tried to pull away gently, but he held on tightly. His eyes, dark and unreadable, stayed fixed on her face. He didn’t look angry. But Ayla couldn’t be sure. The room was quiet. Too quiet. “Repeat what you just said to me,” the King said in a calm but deep voice. Ayla’s heart raced. He had heard her. He heard her whisper those words…“Get well… for me.” What would happen if she said them again? Would he get angry? Would he mock her? “Please,” she whispered, “let go of my hand.” He tilted his head slightly. “But I thought you liked touching me,” he said, his tone teasing, yet not unkind. “Just a moment ago, you said I should get better… for you.” Ayla’s face turned red. She couldn’t believe he heard her. She had only said it

AYLA “Ayla, please stop crying,” Alpha Dairo said gently. “I know you’re sad. I can feel it too. But you must try to calm down now.” But Ayla couldn’t stop. The tears just kept coming. She stood near a tall window in a quiet guest room of the castle. It was the room they gave her when she arrived, maybe just for the night, maybe longer. Everything felt confusing. Her thoughts were a mess. Her heart felt heavy. She wished things were different. Luca should have been the perfect match for her. He had been kind and warm. But now she was bound to the Alpha King, a man who was cold, distant, and harsh. Why would the Moon Goddess give her such a fate? Why did it have to be him? He was handsome, yes, but that didn’t matter. He was also proud, cold, and cruel. Ayla didn’t understand how a man could look so beautiful and yet feel so heartless. Maybe now she knew why he was being punished by the Goddess. Maybe he had treated his fated mate the same way. Maybe the poor girl had cursed

“Answer me!” the King shouted right into her face. His voice boomed through the court. Everyone in the hall went quiet. Ayla’s body trembled. Her eyes widened in shock and fear. She was completely frozen. The King's large hand was still around her neck, squeezing. She could barely breathe. Is this really the man the Moon Goddess chose for me? she thought in disbelief. He’s choking me! It felt like death was near. If he didn’t stop, she would pass out soon. But suddenly, something strange happened. The King's grip loosened. His hand dropped from her neck slowly. His sharp eyes, however, remained fixed on hers. They didn’t blink, didn’t move. It was like he was staring into her soul. Ayla was stunned. She couldn’t look away either. Even though the King was sick and weak, he still looked powerful. His face had sharp features and his presence was heavy. For a moment, it was as if time had stopped. He slowly sat back in his throne and cleared his throat. His gaze swept across the co

KING RYKERR “The King’s bride is here. Be quick and gentle with him,” Warfox, the King’s head guard, said in a firm voice as he led the group of maids into the King’s chamber. The King lay quietly on his grand bed, looking pale and lifeless. He didn’t move. He didn’t speak. His eyes sometimes stayed open for hours, but it was as if he saw nothing. Some people whispered that he had gone blind. Others said he had lost his voice and his mind. Three maids rushed to dress him. Their hands trembled as they worked fast, putting him in a royal garment made of soft silk and lined with golden embroidery. The room smelled faintly of herbs and something sour, perhaps the sickness that now ruled the King’s body. Two healers stood silently near the bed, watching carefully. Though the King looked weak and distant, they made sure his hair was neatly brushed and styled. His long beard had been trimmed. His fingernails were clean and polished. The maids did their best to make him look like a ruler
