Xayden's POV

I had to blink thrice and pierce my claws into my soft palms when I heard what my Beta mate said.

'Blindfold ? What on earth did he need it for ?' I thought.

However, here I was getting the answer to my unspoken question as I watched my blindfolded mate fluidly move against the wind and zig-zag in lightening speed to bring down 10 warriors at once.

He was using the power of his sharp Beta ears to detect foot movement and identify the nature of attack without getting dizzy ! It took decades for great masters to accomplish this feat, and yet, here he was, executing the perfect defence and offence moves.

However, it didn't mean that match was one-sided. No. Sweat and blood trails traversed through the Beta's prominent abs and the n*pple that Rhys had so lovingly touched earlier in the morning, sported claw marks. Damn the Gamma and Delta ! We were best friends since childhood, bullying Nox and his geeky friends whenever we could. Then how could they side with the enemy ?

'I want to lap my tongue around that pink, clawed n*pple and suck it till he c*ms crying my name.' My p*rverted Alpha wolf, Onyx suddenly said as we watched our mate use a warrior’s shoulder as leverage and kick two incoming wolves mid air in different directions.

'Do that and I will break our promise. I will reject that gay piece of sh*t right there, right then.' I threatened.

'How dare you ?' Onyx gasped. 'You promised me three months. You can't reject him.'

'And I'm clearly regretting it.'

'No you are not. You like him too ! You kissed him- twice !! I didn’t need to give you the push either.'

'Gah ! It's undoubtedly you and the mate bond affecting me ! I don't want a male mate, leave alone that sick shop of STDs.'

'Yes, you want him and you are not a homophobic prick, so stop acting like one.' Onyx rolled his eyes.

I watched my mate fight the ones who had touched him in better ways in the morning, and I had to admit that the man was more than proficient to keep his Beta seat.

He was a lot more capable to be the alpha of any other pack.

'Or the second alpha with you in this pack,' Onyx supplied.

'Yes, and the second alpha of this-- hey ! Shut up !! Stop prying into my thoughts and look at that weak, bloody mutt. He deserves to be in the kitchen.' I snorted, even though at that exact moment, Nox delivered the final blow with an air kick from both sides that sent my powerful Gamma and Delta flying out of the boundary.

Nox had won the first round.

‘Yay ! Mate won !!’

Of course he did, but there were two more rounds to go.

Nox's POV

The mf wanted to definitely kill me. I had no doubts about it.

"Tie him up and hang him upside-down over the waterfall's last tree branch. Set the tree on fire. Three sets of 10 gun shooters will shoot at the Beta in rotation. If the Beta makes it to the centre of the arena alive through whatever means possible, he'll proceed to the next round. Killed by a bullet or any other incident, shall throw open the Beta position for others, needless to say. May the second round begin." Xayden ordered amidst loud howls and cheers.

I curled my fists and glared through narrowed eyes at the smirking Alpha when I saw a pair of heavy silver chains were dragged towards the tree by six wolves.

Apart from the weight of the chains, silver was like poison to us. It could burn our skin even due to brief contact. It could even kill us by its mere touch if it was highly potent.

We could bear small quantities like the silver jewellery we wore but the chains that the warriors dragged using gloves, made me want to choke the Alpha with those very chains.

Alpha Chris looked worried and he whispered something in Xayden’s ear but Xayden simply smirked and locked eyes with me.

On the other hand, it was my Dad who assured his Alpha.

"Don't worry, Chris. It's Nox. I have full faith on my son. He is a Canning and a fighter after all. He will surely find a way to make it back," Dad resolutely said as he crossed his arms.

My heart melted at my father's confidence in me and I steeled back my resolve to do this, by hook or by crook.

"And I don't believe he will make it out. Not in this life time." Xayden snorted.

"As much as I hate to say this, I am with Xayden on this," Alpha Chris worriedly said. "Call him back, Canning. We will work something out," he turned towards my father and spoke.

"No. This pack needs him. I know it, and I can bet that he will make it out of there in 10 minutes," my Dad replied.

"Hmph !" Alpha Chris grunted. "You're just saying."

"I'm willing to bet my life," my Dad shrugged.

"That won't be necessary, Beta Canning. Nox's life is already on the line," Xayden grinned and signaled the warriors to go ahead with the preparations.

Taking the opportunity for 2 minutes of preparation time, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

As I raised my arms slowly in a perfect circular arc and joined them above my head, silence suddenly descended on the crowd as if the energy of the place had changed.

Peace and warmth washed over my senses as I raised up a leg towards my head and took the Moon Goddess’ name.

Not even the faint sound of breathing from the thousand plus audience could be heard, save for the furious splashing sounds of the waterfall.

Letting the cool morning, moist wind to guide my movements, I let my body loose. Listening to the sounds of the water source at the height, I kept my hands joined above my head and back flipped my entire way to the sloshy muddy part of the training ground near the waterfall.

"What the hell is he doing ?" I heard Xayden murmur as I kicked around the mud with my arms raised and let the wind do my bidding.

“Kicking mud,” my father replied and I could hear the smirk in his voice.

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #9 (PART-2)

Third PersonThree weeks passed.Vance did not move. The hospital room became his entire world—white walls, steady monitors, the quiet rise and fall of Azrion’s chest. Hunger dulled. Thirst faded. Time lost meaning. He sat in the same chair day after day, fingers wrapped around Azrion’s unmoving hand, as though letting go might finally make it real. This was why he had rejected him. This was why he had endured twelve years of loneliness. To protect him.And now Azrion had thrown it all away.“How could you do this to me?” Vance whispered hoarsely one night, silver eyes burning. “How could you decide my life wasn’t worth keeping you alive?”No answer came. The door creaked softly.Azrion’s fingers twitched.Vance froze.Slowly—agonizingly slowly—Azrion’s eyes opened.Blue. Clear. Alive.“You always accuse me of being selfish,” Azrion murmured weakly. “But you never notice when you are.”Vance surged to his feet so fast the chair clattered backward. “You—” His voice broke. “You’re awake

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #8 (PART-5)

Harvey had learned control early.Control over boardrooms. Over balance sheets. Over other men’s posturing and power plays. Control over the wolf that lived beneath his skin—patient, supreme, coiled tight behind bone and discipline. What he had not learned—what no Alpha was ever truly taught—was how to endure seeing his mate chosen by the pup before he himself had earned the right. The moment Harvey stepped into the house and saw Aaron asleep upright in the bed, their child cradled perfectly against his chest, something in him shifted. The fading imprint-mark on Aaron’s shoulder glimmered faintly to Harvey’s senses, invisible to the eye but roaring to the wolf. The bite marks on Aaron’s palm sealed it.The cub had chosen. And Harvey’s wolf surged forward in response—violent, possessive, reverent all at once.Mine!Harvey sucked in a sharp breath and turned away before the sound became a growl.Kyle noticed immediately.“Harv,” Kyle said quietly, already moving. “You need air, babe.”“

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #8 (PART-4)

The storm swallowed Aaron whole.Rain lashed his face as he stumbled through the trees, shoes slipping in mud, lungs burning. Branches clawed at his arms, tearing skin already bruised and yellowed from older injuries. He didn’t stop. Couldn’t. Every crack of thunder sounded like pursuit. He didn’t know where he was going. He just ran. Away.A howl suddenly cut through the storm.Aaron froze. It wasn’t distant. It wasn’t wild in the way wolves on documentaries sounded. This was close. Controlled. Intelligent. And most frighteningly. Predatory. His heart slammed violently against his ribs as shapes moved between the trees—too fast, too quiet. Yellow eyes gleamed in the dark. One. Then another. And another. Then four and five. And finally, the biggest and tallest made an appearance. Slow but dangerous.Aaron backed up slowly, breath shaking. “P-please,” he whispered, uselessly. “I—I don’t have anything—”A growl answered him, low and mocking. The largest shape stepped forward, rain slidi

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #8 (PART-3)

On the ride home, Aaron pressed in without being told. Kyle’s hand settled firmly on Aaron’s thigh this time, fingers spreading, grounding him through every curve of the road. Not rushing. Not taking. Just reminding him exactly where he was. When they pulled into the driveway, neither of them moved to get off right away.Kyle cut the engine. The sudden quiet was deafening.“You still with me?” Kyle asked softly.Aaron nodded, forehead resting between Kyle’s shoulder blades. “Yes.”Kyle reached back and squeezed his thigh once more—slow, deliberate. “Good boy.”There was that phrase again. Good boy. Aaron’s heart jumpstarted.“You ride well,” Kyle murmured near his ear. “Responsive. Sensitive.”Aaron’s heart almost gave out. Finally, Kyle swung off the bike in one smooth motion.Aaron stayed where he was.The seat was still warm beneath him, legs loose, hands resting uncertainly at his sides. He leaned back instinctively, spine arching as the bike steadied him, breath still uneven from

  • ALPHA'S BETA MATE   BONUS CHAPTER #8 (PART-2)

Kyle didn’t corner Aaron. He waited. That was the difference. If Harvey was heat and pressure, Kyle was gravity—subtle, inescapable, pulling Aaron closer without ever seeming to move.It started with proximity.Aaron would be chopping vegetables, baby balanced on his hip, when Kyle would drift into the kitchen and lean against the counter. Not touching. Just close enough that Aaron could feel his warmth and the carefully dabbed essential oils and enticing scents.“You don’t need to do that,” Kyle said one afternoon, watching Aaron rinse rice three times like it was sacred and chopping vegetables in record time. “I could’ve ordered takeout.”Aaron shook his head. “You said this was your favorite.”Kyle blinked. “I said that once.”Aaron shrugged, embarrassed. “I remember things.”Kyle watched him for a long moment. Then, quietly, “I like that about you. But you are my favourite thing.”Aaron’s hands stilled. Did he really say that?Kyle reached past him for a spoon, his arm brushing Aa
