CATRIONA

He gave me a smile, and I blushed. He was too gorgeous to look at for more than a second without feeling overwhelmed.

“I’m going to call someone to show you your room,” he said calmly. I nodded, and barely two seconds later, there was a knock on the door. He didn’t touch a phone—nothing. Yet somehow, someone was already there.

“Come in,” he said.

A woman walked in. She looked around my age. I glanced at him, then her, and silently wondered, How did he call her without a phone?

“Ms. Catriona,” he began, “this is Sandra. She’ll show you to your room and give you a tour of the house. If you need anything, tell her.”

I nodded again, silently. Sandra gave him a respectful bow of her head before gesturing for me to follow. She led me through the hallway, then stopped at a door and pushed it open for me.

The room was huge.

There was a king-sized bed with crisp white sheets, two wide windows, and a sliding glass door that led out to a balcony. On the balcony, there was a cozy wicker loveseat meant for two, perfectly positioned to overlook the woods.

“Do you like it?” she asked from behind me. I hadn’t noticed she’d followed me inside.

“No... I don’t like it,” I said, turning to her with a small smile. “I love it.”

“That’s good to hear,” she replied warmly. “I’m Sandra.”

“I’m Catriona,” I said. We exchanged a soft smile.

“If you ever need anything, just let me know,” she added.

“Okay... but how will I even find you in this big house?”

She chuckled. “I’ll give you my number. Just text me, and I’ll be there instantly.”

I took the number, still confused. “Is that what he did? But... I didn’t see him use a phone to call you.”

“Who?”

“The man from the office.”

“Oh… you mean Alpha?”

I blinked. “Alpha? Is that his name?”

She smiled. “That’s what we call him. He’s our Alpha.”

“What did he do then? I mean, how did you know to come without him calling?”

She shrugged casually. “He texted me.”

I narrowed my eyes slightly, unconvinced. “Really?”

“Yes,” she replied, a little too quickly. “Anyway, I’ll head out for now. I’ll come back later when dinner’s ready. If you’re hungry before then, just let me know—I’ll bring you something.”

“No thanks, I’m fine for now. I appreciate the gesture, though.”

She smiled again, handed me her number, and left.

---

After unpacking and taking a long shower, I picked up my phone and called Miss Olivier. She answered on the fourth ring.

“Hello, honey. Sorry, I was in the kitchen preparing something for Edrine,” she said, sounding slightly out of breath.

“It’s okay, Miss Olivier. You don’t have to explain,” I said gently.

“How are you, honey? Did you arrive safely?”

“Yes. I got here fine. How’s Edrine?”

“He’s doing okay. I’m making him something to take to the hospital.”

“Okay. Thank you so much. I’m going to work hard so he can get the best treatment.”

“Good, child. Do that. And don’t forget to pray every day.”

“I won’t, Miss Olivier. I promise.”

---

After the call, I stepped out onto the balcony. The air was fresh. Cool. The mansion stood deep in the woods, with no neighbors in sight. The only companions were tall trees swaying gently in the wind and a beautiful, glassy lake. It was peaceful… and isolated.

A nap seemed like the next best thing. But just as I was settling into bed, a knock startled me.

“Come in,” I called.

The door opened slowly—and there he was. Mr. Alpha.

“I need to talk to you,” he said, stepping in.

“Okay,” I replied, sitting up.

He took a seat on the small couch across from me.

“Do you like your room?”

“Yes. I love it. It’s way bigger than mine back home.”

“I’m glad you do,” he said, then paused. His tone shifted. “I came to inform you of a slight change in the contract.”

I stayed quiet, waiting.

“We’ll be having sex every day until you get pregnant. Once that happens, we’ll stop.”

My heart dropped. My lips parted, but no words came. Then I nodded. I had already signed the contract.

“This room is right opposite mine. Every night, at exactly 11:30 p.m., you’ll come to me. Understood?”

“Yes, Mr. Alpha,” I said.

He stared at me, sharp and intense. “Who told you to call me that?”

“I—” I stuttered. “Everyone here calls you Alpha… so I assumed it was your name.”

“My name is Jayden Evers. You can call me Jayden,” he said.

“Okay… Jayden.”

He stood up. I did too. But I didn’t realize how close he was until I nearly bumped into his chest. He towered over me.

“Sorry,” I muttered, stepping back.

“How’s your brother?”

“He’s okay.”

“Give me your account number,” he said. “I’m transferring \$270,000. You’ll get the rest after you’re pregnant.”

I gave it to him, and he left.

---

I must have passed out after that because when I woke up, it was pitch dark. I checked the time—8:15 p.m. My stomach growled so loud I groaned.

I grabbed my phone and texted Sandra.

Within *seconds*, she walked in.

“Hey, girl! How was your sleep?”

I blinked at her. “Were you nearby?”

“No, why?”

“I just texted you… and here you are.”

She laughed awkwardly. “I exercise a lot. I’m fast.”

“Right…”

“I actually came earlier to tell you dinner was ready, but you were sleeping so deeply.”

“Why didn’t you wake me?”

“Alpha told me to let you rest.”

Just hearing his name makes my heart skip. I pinched my cheek hard. Snap out of it, girl.

“Sandra, I texted because I’m starving.”

“Come on, let’s get food.”

---

She led me toward the elevator, but I stopped.

“Let’s use the stairs instead.”

She didn’t question it. We descended, and I was glad. The stairs glowed with warm lights from different corners, and the whole place shimmered with elegance.

“Wow… this house is huge. I could eat dinner on these stairs,” I joked.

She burst into laughter.

“I have a lot of questions for you, Sandra.”

“You can ask… but not tonight.”

Fair enough.

---

After dinner, I went back up—by stairs again—and showered. I stood in front of the mirror, staring at myself.

Any minute from now… I won’t be a virgin anymore.

I kept it for so long, waiting for the man I prayed God would bring me. And now\... I was breaking that promise.

I pulled on my favorite night dress. My legs felt like jelly.

---

I left my room and walked across to his. I hesitated, then knocked gently.

“Come in,” came that deep, husky voice.

I entered and shut the door behind me.

His room was massive. A hallway led in. To the left was a bathroom and a huge walk-in closet. I followed the dim lighting until I reached the main bedroom.

The king-sized bed sat in the center. A large TV, two couches, and a sleek coffee table filled the space. It smelled like him—woodsy and expensive.

He was standing near the wide glass window, staring out.

When he turned, his gaze locked onto mine.

He walked toward me, stopping just inches away. With two fingers, he gently lifted my chin.

“Are you nervous?” he asked softly.

“A little,” I admitted.

“Don’t be. I won’t hurt you. I’ll be gentle—it’s your first time.”

My breath caught.

How did he know… it’s my first time?

  • ALPHA'S HUMAN SURROGATE    EPISODE 100

JAYDEN I froze in place when my so-called vampire brother burst out of the pack house, somehow managing to get his hands on Catriona. "I’ve had enough, little brother," he said. Everyone paused, including Gabriel, waiting to see whom he was referring to as his brother. Gabriel was quick to react, glancing from me to the vampire. His face turned red with fury, and I could tell he wanted to charge at my brother and break him in half. As satisfying as that would be, it was also impossible. Doing anything foolish would put Catriona in danger. My brother approached me confidently, exuding an air of satisfaction. He sniffed Catriona’s neck and then turned to me, remarking, “She smells good.” He twirled his bloody tongue over his fangs. Gabriel’s voice echoed angrily in my mind, demanding, “Who is this bloodsucker to you, Jayden?” His wolf paced restlessly around him while bombarding me with questions. “Let her go. It’s me you want,” I said, but instead, his smile grew wider, as if he

GABRIEL After ensuring Catriona’s safety indoors, I ventured out to mediate the conflict between the witches and Jayden’s enraged wolves. I never anticipated being struck by the witches’ wrathful magic, which was originally intended for Jayden. The impact left me clutching my chest tightly, as if it might burst open. I remained on the ground for several minutes, groaning in pain. Although the temptation to shift and violently retaliate was strong, I knew I had to remain calm. Feeling frustrated, I took a deep breath and confidently approached the wolves and witches, positioning myself between them with a dominant demeanour. “You all need to calm the fuck down,” I assertively stated. Surprisingly, everyone except Jayden stopped. He angrily trotted over to me, snarling in my direction… “You dare bring unknown witches to my house and give orders to my pack? Who do you think you are?” he said, his voice guttural. “Trust me, I wouldn’t mess with bringing witches to either pack. They’

CATRIONA I gazed wide-eyed, still processing what had just happened as I hurried over to Jayden, who appeared to be in pain. My love and concern for him compelled me to reach out, but instead, a powerful gust of wind blew through me, separating us. I stumbled backwards, my heart pounding in my chest. Fortunately, Gabriel was behind me and caught me before I hit the ground. His strong arms wrapped around me, providing a sense of stability amidst the chaos. I clung to him, grateful for his presence in this bewildering moment. Without hesitation, I turned to face the witches, my voice trembling with a mix of fear and anger. “Did you do this? Are you responsible for what just happened?” I demanded, my eyes narrowing as I awaited their response. The witches exchanged glances, their expressions filled with surprise and confusion. One of them, with silver hair, stepped forward, her voice gentle yet resolute. “No, we had nothing to do with it,” she replied. My mind raced, trying to mak

JAYDEN I froze in my tracks, my heart pounding in my chest. The weight of my wolf’s words hung heavily in the air, leaving me speechless. Breaking the mate bond was an unthinkable act, a betrayal of the deepest kind. It was a bond meant to be eternal—unbreakable. That is the best thing we can do for Catriona. She’ll be free. And safe from being hurt by the man she loves. Even though my wolf said this, I could feel the sadness in his tone and the beating of his heart, which told me he didn’t truly mean it. I knew he was trying to punish me for everything I did to him—especially to Catriona. Fuck me, I wasn’t in my right damn mind. However, it doesn’t mean that I don’t love Catriona. I genuinely love and care about her to the extent of giving my life for her. Despite my wolf’s warning, I disregarded him and headed into the house. "Did you hear what I said?" His voice echoed loudly in my head, making it hard for me to think straight. "I heard you loud and clear, beast." We need to

  • ALPHA'S HUMAN SURROGATE    EPISODE 96

CATRIONA I stared wide-eyed at the saliva rolling down my bare skin, fear flooding in as the memory of Jayden's nearly lifeless body came rushing back. What is going to happen next? Am I going to end up in the same half-dead state as Jayden was? How many days will it be? And what about the child inside me? I instinctively touched my belly, filled with trepidation at the thought of my unborn child facing the same fate as me. How unlucky am I? Gabriel was immediately by my side, attempting to communicate with me, but his words were incomprehensible—though I could sense his anxiety and anger. I'm scared he will kill another person. Based on Gabriel's account of what the saliva did to Jayden, I expected an immediate reaction when it came into contact with me. However, it took longer for the effects to manifest. Gradually, I felt my larynx becoming blocked, making it difficult for me to breathe. Desperately gasping for air, I clutched at my throat. Gabriel's grip was strong, and his
