THANE'S POV

“I, Alpha Thane of the Tiger wood blood pack, take back my rejection.” I said.

As soon as I took back my rejection, I noticed something strange started happening.

I suddenly started hearing the cracking of Bones and when I looked closely, I noticed that she was starting to shift.

“But how, the first time I saw her, I could swear that she was not a shifter but how come she is shifting now??” I asked myself in confusion.

“Mate is unique…she is not as weak as you thought.” my wolf said.

“The fact that she is shifting doesn't change my mindset on the fact that she is still a weakling.” I said.

I gently placed her back down on the ground as I observed what would happen next.

Her body suddenly began to twist, her limbs elongating and her muscles rippling beneath her skin.

Her clothes suddenly got torn and ripped, unable to contain her wolf from emerging.

In a matter of moments, a towering werewolf emerged with silver furs that glowed like embers.

It's chest heaved, it's fur fluffed by the breeze as I looked on in shock on seeing how distinctive her wolf was.

“Mate is so beautiful.” My wolf said as I could sense his excitement.

“No,  this can't be…I have never seen any wolf as unique as this in my entire life as an Alpha and this could pose a big threat to me.” I said.

“You should be grateful the moon goddess blessed you with a beautiful and unique wolf but instead, you are saying she poses a threat to you??? what exactly are you thinking???!!”

“If she ever finds out she knows how to shift into her wolf form, she could rebel against me and I will not be able to carry out my revenge plan on her.” I said.

“Take a close look at her, does she look like someone who could ever rebel against you??? Unless you are saying you are a weak Alpha and probably incompetent.”

“Watch your words shawn!!!” I said in anger to my wolf.

I knew that she was too weak at the moment to be able to rebel against me but I was still not ready to take any risk.

“What are you going to do about mate now?? Remember you have already taken back your rejection.” My wolf said.

“What I do with Tyla should not be any of your concern Shawn.”

“She is our mate and not yours alone so whatever you do with her is a part of my concern too.” My wolf said.

“You don't get to tell me what to do Shawn.” I said as I blocked him out.

After a while, I noticed Tyla shifted back into her human form but was completely naked.

Knowing fully well her clothes were already destroyed, I pulled off my shirt and carefully wore it on her.

As much as she had so many ugly and unpleasant marks, both healed up and new ones on her body, it didn't stop me from admiring her petite body and she stirred softly as I was done putting the shirt on her.

I carried her bridal style again as I headed back to the pack but this time around, I took her to the pack house as I didn't want her escaping for the second time.

As soon as I got back to the pack house, I saw my beta gazing weirdly at me.

“Speak!!!”

“You brought her back again??!!!” Rico exclaimed.

“And how is that any of your business???”

“I can smell that she is going to be trouble Alpha, a huge one at that.”

“I ask again Rico, how is that your business??? Is she your mate??? Or an acquaintance of yours??”

“No Alpha.”

“Then whatever I do or choose to do with her shouldn't be any of your business….get me the housekeeper.” I said.

“Yes Alpha.” he said as he walked away.

A few minutes later, the lady I put in charge of taking care of the pack house walked over to me but before she greeted, she had the same weird expression that my beta had on his face earlier on as she looked at Tyla who was still unconscious in my arms.

I cleared my throat as she bowed her head.

“I apologize Alpha.” She said.

“I need you to do something for me.” I said.

“What is it, Alpha???”

“I need you to take her to your room, take proper care of her and make sure she gets back in full health and while you do so, do not let anyone know of her presence here in the pack house especially my Mother and Brother.” I said.

I noticed the expression on her face suddenly changed into a fearful one as I gave her those instructions.

“What's with that look on your face??”

She suddenly knelt down as her head remained bowed.

“I am deeply sorry Alpha but I don’t think I can be able to do as you have asked.” she said.

“What the hell do you mean by that??!!!” I thundered in anger.

“I can take very good care of her Alpha and nurture her to full health but I can't hide her identity from your Mother or brother because they know everything that goes on in and out of this pack house.”

“You don't have to worry about my Mother or Brother…. just keep taking care of her until she recovers and if they find out about her, then tell them I asked you to take care of her for me.” I said.

“Alright Alpha, I will do as You have asked…thank you.”

Suddenly I could sense that someone was coming with my wolf senses and the person was already very close by.

“Take her and leave now!!” I commanded.

The housekeeper took Tyla from my arms and zoomed off and as soon as she did, someone tapped my shoulder.

“Who were you speaking to son???”

Warriors stood at attention longer than usual even though the air smelled, different burning sage, crushed moonflowers, and anxiety.Preparations for the Luna ceremony had begun. And I was at the center of it.I stood before the tall mirror in my room while two attendants hovered behind me, whispering in hushed tones as they brushed my hair. My reflection stared back at me, unfamiliar. My face looked calm, but my eyes betrayed me…they were wide, uncertain, shadowed by thoughts I couldn’t silence. Was I really doing this?Every stroke of the brush felt like another step toward something I couldn’t undo.My wolf paced restlessly inside me, claws scraping against my ribs. This feels wrong… and right… an

THANE'S POV The elders’ voices still echoed in my skull long after I left that meeting.“Choose another mate.”“You must give the pack stability.”“Tyla is gone..accept it.”Gone.The word sliced through me like a fresh wound every time.My wolf lay silent in the back of my mind broken, withdrawn, refusing to speak. He had nothing to offer…no opinion and no guidance because as far as he was concerned… our mate no longer existed. For him, for both of us, Tyla was dead or missing but at this point, dead had the upper hand. And you cannot replace the dead.Yet the pack needed a Luna and I, Alpha or not, was drowning.I found myself standing outside my mother’s door without even remembering the walk. I pushed it open gently. She was seated near the fire, spinning wool with calm, steady hands. The flames cast a soft glow on her tired face.“Mother,” I murmured. She looked up with eyes far too perceptive.“Thane.”I sat at her feet like I did when I was younger, when problems seemed eas

My pulse raced so wildly I could feel it in my throat. His eyes, storm-dark and burning never left my face.He stood too close, too tall and too powerful. And far too overwhelming.I swallowed hard, suddenly painfully aware of how small the room felt… or maybe it was just how massive his presence was.“Kyron,” I whispered, forcing myself to meet his gaze, “What did you just say Kyr…”He cut me off, stepping closer, caging me against the wall with one hand beside my head.“You want a child so desperately,” he growled, voice dropping to a low, deadly whisper, “That you believed lies about being pregnant… with another male’s pup.”Heat burned my cheeks.Embarrassment, shame, confusion and everything twisted violently inside.“I didn't lie, Kyron…I was pregnant!!!
