LOGINTHANE’S POV
As soon as Alpha Crane hit Tyla across her face the first time, I growled deeply in anger as my wolf threatened to come out. I know I rejected her as my mate but for some weird reasons, I still felt possessive over her and so when he hit her the second time and she fell to the ground unconscious with blood slipping out of her mouth, I lost it. “Is she dead??” One of the elders seated in the living room said. “ leave her alone!!!” I yelled in anger as I walked towards her. “Who are you to tell me what to do???” Alpha Crane asked. I almost told everyone that Tyla was my mate but the fact that I rejected her stopped me from doing so and besides, she was only a pack slave and wasn't worth anything. “Take mate out of here.” My wolf said. “I don't fucking want her around me.” I responded to him. “If you leave her here, she will die.” He said again. As much as I didn't want to agree with my wolf, he was right. I looked at Tyla lying on the floor looking so frail and also looking sick like someone who had been starved for the longest of time. “I want her.” I said to Alpha Crane. I knew I was going to regret my decision later on but I needed to do what needed to be done. “What???” “I Said I want her….I want to take her to my pack to serve there as my slave.” I said. “She is already a slave here.” Alpha Crane bit out. “I know that and I am willing to pay any amount of money for her.” I said. “Alpha, what exactly are you doing???” My beta whispered beside me in my ears. “I want her and I am going to take her with me to the pack.” “But you rejected her so why paying any amount for one who was rejected???” “You are crossing the line.” I said as I growled at my beta. “Apologies Alpha.” “Did you say any amount???” Alpha Crane asked. I could see the desperation in his eyes and I knew he loved money so it wasn't going to be difficult bargaining with him. And just like that, I was on my way back to my pack with Tyla after paying a huge amount of money for her. “With all due respect Alpha, she wasn't worth the kind of amount you paid for her a while ago.” my beta said. “I know that and that is why she is going to pay back every penny I paid for her in one way or the other.” I said with a smirk. We got back to the pack and I dropped Tyla off at the pack clinic. “Take care of her and inform me as soon as she regains consciousness.” I said to the head pack nurse. “Yes Alpha.” I went back to my pack house to take care of some documents. A day swiftly turned into days and Tyla still wasn't conscious. I headed back to the clinic to find out what was wrong. “She hasn't shifted yet, Alpha and that is the reason why her recovery is slow.” “How can she not be a shifter!!! She already looks like she should be at the age where she shifts....when I met her the first time, I suspected but I didn't want to believe it was true!!!.....” I said in anger. “I don't know what was done to her in the previous pack she stayed but from the scars all over her body, I can tell she was maltreated and malnourished and that could be the major reason for her delay in shifting Alpha.” Rage was what I felt at that moment as I turned around and walked away. I headed to my study and started breaking everything I saw in sight. “Why are you raging over a mate you rejected??” My wolf asked. “I don't give a shit about her but I hate and do not tolerate Injustice.” I said. Just as I paced back and forth for a few minutes thinking deeply on the next decision to take, I was informed through a mind link that Tyla was awake. “Finally.” My wolf howled in excitement. “She is here as a slave to me and not a mate so get that straight.” I told my wolf. “Ass.” My wolf said as he blocked our mind link. I rolled my eyes as I began clearing my study before going to the clinic but soon after, I was informed that Tyla ran away from the clinic and that too In a terrible condition. “She doesn't f**king learn!!!” I yelled as I raced out of the pack house. I could see traces of blood into the woods and I knew Almost immediately that it was her blood. I wasn't worried about her bleeding but what I was worried about was that the smell of her blood could attract rogues. Her blood looked and smelt very unique and different from any other blood I had ever seen. Just as I suspected and feared, I could smell the presence of a rogue as I went further into the woods and I could also smell Tyla too as the bond between us was still active. I immediately changed into my wolf form as I raced further into the woods and as soon as I saw Tyla, I could tell she was already bitten by the rogue because of how motionless she was on the rogue. In rage, I removed the head of the wolf and ripped it's heart out as blood splattered everywhere. I looked back at Tyla and could see the shock written on her face after witnessing what I did and in a split second, she passed out cold. As soon as I could, I drained out the rogue venom from her body before it could get to her heart and I carried her bridal style. There was something unique about Tyla and I needed to find out what it was. “Mine.” I growled possessively. “Yours??? You rejected her Thane!!” My wolf said. “I, Alpha Thane of the Tiger wood blood pack, take back my rejection.” As soon as I took back my rejection, I could hear cracking sounds from Tyla. "What's going on???" I asked my wolf. "Mate is shifting for the first time!!!!"FINAL CHAPTER (WRITER'S POV)The figure that slammed Tyla to the ground did not stay hidden for long.As the weight above her shifted, moonlight finally touched the face hovering over hers. And Tyla froze.“Thane…”But this was not the Thane she knew, at least not fully. His eyes were wrong.Completely dark, with only faint traces of their natural color struggling beneath something far more dangerous. His face looked twisted with pain, fury, and something unnatural as if two minds were fighting for control inside one body. His breathing came rough and uneven, almost animal-like.And when he spoke, his voice sounded broken.“Run…” he whispered, but even that single word sounded as though it was being dragged through pain.Tyla backed away immediately, her hands trembling against the ground. But before she could rise fully, Thane’s body jerked violently. Then his expression changed again…his lips curled back. The darkness in his eyes deepened. And when he lunged this time, there was no
TYLA'S POVThe first thing I felt when I opened my eyes was cold.A deep, biting cold that crept through my skin and settled into my bones. For a few seconds, I did not understand where I was.The ceiling above me was broken in places, with cracked wood hanging dangerously from old beams. Dust floated through the fading light, and the smell of old stone and damp earth filled the air.I blinked slowly. This was not my room.It was not Kyron’s room either. My heartbeat quickened immediately.I tried to sit up, but weakness dragged heavily through my body, forcing me to stop halfway.A sharp ache spread through my head then the memory came back. The scent. That strange scent in my room. The dizziness. The darkness. And then footsteps.I turned sharply toward the sound.Thane stepped out from the shadows as my breath caught instantly. His face was tense, his jaw hard, his eyes fixed entirely on me.For a moment, neither of us spoke. Then anger rushed through me so suddenly that it gave m
TYLA'S POVMy body still felt strange even after Kyron brought me back to the pack.It was as though every part of me belonged to someone else.My limbs were weak, my head heavy, and my heart still had not recovered from everything that had happened in the forest. The shift..the pain…the power and the fear. Most of all, the look on Thane’s face.I still remembered it clearly…the shock in his eyes, the disbelief, the way he had stared at me like he had never truly seen me before. And maybe he hadn’t.Because I had never seen that side of myself either.Kyron supported me carefully as we entered the pack house, his arm firm around my shoulders while his jacket remained wrapped tightly around my body.“Slowly,” he said quietly when my steps became uneven.“I can walk,” I murmured, though my voice sounded weaker than I wanted.“I know,” he replied gently. “But right now, let me help you.” he said as I didn’t argue.I was too tired to pretend strength I didn’t have.Instead of taking me t
THANE'S POVI had seen wolves shift hundreds of times in my life.It was nothing new to me.As Alpha, I had watched warriors transform before battles, watched pups experience their first shifts, and even witnessed brutal shifts fueled by rage. But nothing…absolutely nothing prepared me for what I was seeing now.Tyla,my mate, the woman I once rejected just shifted. My breath caught in my throat.“Moon Goddess…” Rico whispered beside me.I was too shocked to even ask how Rico got to where I was.I couldn't speak and I couldn’t move. This shift was different.Standing before us was the largest wolf I had ever seen in my life.Silver fur shimmered under the moonlight like liquid metal. Her body was powerful, sleek, and intimidating in a way that made even seasoned warriors instinctively step back. But it was her eyes that froze the blood in my veins. They glowed like molten silver.Wild, fierce and Untamed.I stared at her in complete shock.“That… that can’t be possible,” I muttered.T
THANE'S POV I was already angry before Rico opened his mouth. But when he did, it only made it worse.“She was almost Kyron’s mate!” I roared, pacing the length of my room like a trapped animal. My hands were trembling, my wolf restless under my skin. “Do you even understand what that means, Rico? I spent years looking for her. Years! And she was about to bind herself to him?”Rico stood by the window, arms folded across his chest. He didn’t look afraid of me…he rarely did.“She didn’t bind herself to him,” he said calmly. “It was discussed…that’s different.”“Different?” I snapped. “It’s the same thing! She had no right!”Rico’s eyes hardened. “No right? Thane… you rejected her.” He said as I stopped pacing. The words hit like a slap.“I had my reasons,” I muttered.“You sent her into exile,” Rico continued, his voice firm now. “You pushed her away.”My jaw tightened.“That was..”“That was your choice,” he cut in sharply. “Not hers.”I felt my anger spike higher. “I had no
TYLA’S POVI woke up with a sharp gasp with my chest rising and falling like I had been drowning and only just found air.The room was dim, lit only by the soft glow of moonlight filtering through the curtains. My head throbbed painfully, and my heart felt heavy, like something was sitting on it, crushing every breath I took. For a moment, I didn’t know where I was. Then the scent hit me…Kyron.I turned my head slowly and saw him sitting beside the bed, his large frame tense, his eyes fixed on my face like he had been watching me the entire time. Relief flickered across his face the moment our eyes met.“You’re awake,” he said quietly. My throat felt dry. “How long…?” I tried to ask, but my voice came out hoarse.“Not long,” Kyron replied. “You suddenly collapsed and the healer said you’d wake soon.”I swallowed and tried to sit up, but dizziness washed over me instantly. Kyron moved fast, placing a firm hand on my shoulder to steady me.“Easy,” he said. “Don’t rush.”I closed
THANE'S POVAs soon as I instructed Tyla to go and stay with Lilian, I went straight into my Mother's chambers.“Son, when did you get back??.” She asked.“A while ago, look Mother first of all, I came to let you know that I am not pleased with what you told me earlier on…who gave the elders the ri
TYLA'S POV “Wait Thane?!! I yelled.” “Yes??” “Can I come with you??” I asked. Deep down, I wanted to go with Thane.” “No Tyla, you aren’t coming with me.” he said. “But why?? I want to come with you please ” “You need to rest Julia…you can come with me later or some other time but for
TYLA'S POVI opened my eyes wide open as I realized what I had done.“I am so sorry.” I said almost immediately.“No, I am the one who should be sorry….my attitude earlier on was totally uncalled for and I deeply apologize.” Thane said.“What Is the matter Thane?? Is there something more that you a
THANE'S POVHer lips were soft under mine, yielding but not resisting. That’s what undid me the way Tyla didn’t push me away. The way her breath hitched when my hands slid up her waist. For the first time in weeks, the wildfire in my veins had purpose. I kissed her harder and deeper as one han
