Sinopse

Tragedy

Girl Power

Mystery

The cold breeze blew past me and I shivered as goosebumps began to grow on my skin. I didn't know what time it was, but I knew it was too late. Too late to turn back, too late to go back to the hospital... Too late to go back to him...... ***************** Come here!" I jerked up abruptly at the sound of my fathers voice. With a shaking body, I made my way slowly to him, praying to God to save me. "D-daddy, please, I'm weak, see my body is shaking. I'm very tired, please daddy..." A loud slap landed on my face making me fall to the ground. "Did I ask you to talk? Worthless child, just like your mother. I should have thrown you out or killed you a long time ago." He shouted at my almost unconscious body on the floor. .............. Elizabeth has been molested times without number by her own father at a young age. And when it's time to get married, she finds it hard to trust men.

PROLOGUE
"Come here!" I jerked up abruptly at the sound of my fathers voice.  With a shaking body, I made my way slowly to him, praying to God to save me.  "D-daddy, please, I'm weak, see my body is shaking. I'm very tired, please daddy..." A loud slap landed on my face making me fall to the ground.  I couldn't even cry out anymore, tears only flowed out of my eyes freely. My body was too weak to stand back up and my eyes were too swollen to close them or blink.  "Did I ask you to talk? Worthless child, just like your mother. I should have thrown you out or killed you a long time ago." He shouted at my almost unconscious body on the floor.  He would hav

CHAPTER ONE
~Elizabeth~ I parked my car in the parking lot and threw the empty coffee cup in my hand into a waste bin as I walked into the organization. My heels clicked on the tiled floor as I made my way to the elevator. I wore a red pencil skirt that merged with my body perfectly and a white button up shirt that wasn't too tight but fitted my bust well.  I was beautiful, I knew that, everyone that set their eyes on me knew that. And I made sure to be outstanding where ever I went.  My name is Elizabeth Adeyemi, I'm 27 years old. I'm the personal assistant to the CEO of B-Corp. An organization in Africa for exporting Cocoa products. As a P.A, I'm in charge of the meetings my boss goes to, both home and abroad and also every appointment he is supposed to attend to. And many other boring stuffs like that.

CHAPTER TWO
~Elizabeth~ You're fired.  Those words kept ringing in my ears. I lost my job. I used my own mouth to put myself in trouble. What have I done? Naturally I expected him to kick me out of his car since I was no longer working for him, but instead, we still drove to Lotion Limited.  And I dared not talk. That would just be my demise. It was probably the last job I was going to be doing and since he didn't have a PA at that moment, he needed me. ................ I stayed quiet for about an hour in the the hall way of the company. My boss along with other company's bosses were in the conference room discussing whatever matter. And I was just seated. Again. For too long. And now my butt was beginning to hurt.

CHAPTER THREE
~Elizabeth~ "Can't we just grab a drink after work? It's been long since we spent time together." Chidima said, subconsciously going through some papers on my desk.  "Babe you know how busy I get. I want to go and chill out but...." "But David keeps bugging you with work." She rolled her eyes  "You could get fired for even staying here with me. You this girl better mind yourself." I warned her.  "I'm on my lunch break. You should be too." She said.  "I'm busy." I began clicking the keyboard of my laptop.  "You know he's not your husband."

CHAPTER FOUR
~Elizabeth~ "Okay, thank you, I'll make sure Mr Badmus knows." I cut the call and let out a loud sigh.  It had been a week after that night. Mr Badmus left for a business trip and would be back by the end of day. So basically, I had a ton of work to do. "Good day, this is B-Corp, how may I help you." I said my usual words to whoever called.  "Miss Adeyemi." I recognized the voice immediately.  "Oh good afternoon sir." I greeted my boss.  "Is everything ready?" He asked "Yes sir. The hall has been booked and the decorations are done already, invitations has been sent to everyone you listed and the entertainment is prepared and the workers has been told to leave earlier th

~Elizabeth ~ "You're still not answering me." My boss crossed his arms and I gulped. Why, again did I come here? Oh wait, my mum.  "D-did you...." I shivered.  "Get in." He stepped aside and I obeyed.  I gasped out when I entered the house. I've known him for years but never have I entered his house. It was big and with blue and white theme. The parlor setting alone was breath taking. The furnitures, everything was just...right. Beautiful. And neat.  "Great you're dripping water on my floor." I snapped back to reality at the coldness in his voice.  "Don't worry, I'm no

CHAPTER SIX
~Elizabeth ~ "What did you prepare?" I heard the voice that gave me creepy chills all the time growl.  My weak and frail body just stood in front of him and I was taught never to look him in the eyes so my gaze was on the ground. "I'm talking to you." His voice grew darker with rage and it made me more scared.  "T-there's n....nothing. I didn't....cook. You didn't leave any money." My voice trembled, so did my body. I knew how much he hated hearing no food at home but it was the truth. But today, I wasn't fortunate at all, he came home drunk and whenever he was drunk, bad things happen.  "What do you mean you didn't cook." He got up from where he sat and headed my way. I just stood there waiting for the worst to happen. "I swear I would'v

~DAVID~ "What...is this?!" I looked up to see Sandra pointing her phone at me. It was too early in the morning for me to start listening to her drama. And I'm not sure I woke up on the right side of the bed this morning. What am I saying, I'm always waking up at the wrong side of the bed.  "What do you want Sandra? Shouldn't you be at work?" I asked focusing on my computer again.  "What is this?" She kept pointing her phone at me. "It's a phone babe, what's the big deal?" I still didn't pay much attention to her.  "It's not the fucking phone. It's the picture. I went online and see what I saw on the news. So you now go out with other girls hun?" She asked with rage and I finally looked up to see her phone. Great. It was a picture of Eliza

CHAPTER EIGHT
*****The cold breeze blew right past me and I shivered as goosebumps began to grow on my skin.  I didn't know what time it was, but I knew it was too late. Too late to turn back, too late to go back to the hospital... Too late to go back to him.  It was a big risk I was taking to be walking alone in the dark, empty, narrow street.  Clouds were forming in the sky, it was about to rain in any moment. I did not have shelter or clothes or food. To be honest, I didn't regret ever leaving that house. Not like he had food to provide for me.  "Hey who's there." I felt my heart stop for a moment and when it finally started beating, it increased it's pace. &n

CHAPTER NINE
Him. My legs grew weak, everything and everyone around me became a blur, my attention was only focused on the person that just walked in.  My father.  He looked older than the last time I saw him but I could never forget that face. Bushy brows, rough lips, wrinkled face and slightly grey hair.  He didn't notice me, which I was grateful for because I didn't know what I would do if he had seen me. His face was as cold as ever and he was dressed in a t-shirt and a black trouser.  Memories began flashing back, the slaps, the whips, the scares, the pain....everything came all at once. Tears clouded my eyes, making it hard for me to see clearly but my focus was still on him.
