CHAPTER TWO; GODDESS PERSONIFIED

“Her beauty was a divine delicacy that I could only hold within my dreams. I tested my dream of her beauty, and I whispered her grace to the angels. The sounds of heaven replied to me, telling me that her beauty transcended not only in my dreams, but even heaven” – Lionel Suggs.

Aurora’s alarm was set for early dusk of the morning. As tradition compels, * the royal and guardian bloodline train together to ensure seamless locomotion* when defending the system. Olamide Obong sent an internal message to all his children: Kingsley, Ini, Ismael, Aurora and Eya through his bloodline. The bloodline possesses gifts varying across its generation. Amidst Olamide’s children, Aurora possessed the most, across several generation. She possessed the gift of teleportation and the ability to read emotions even when disguised, which came as a result of her mother being of royal blood. A major bone of contention in which the royal court fought against her parent’s entanglement, as they believed the bloodline mixture could produce a force to reckon with. But due to her parent’s strong will, Zainab and Olamide were able to have a great love despite the odds. A story she admired so much.

After getting the alarm, Aurora got up, stretched, freshened up and teleported herself to the portal chamber, where she kitted herself and waited for others. Ini came in next and seeing Aurora she joked about how unfair it was that the rest of them had to walk all the way to the chamber. The portal chamber was found at the deepest part of the royal castle, sealed from everyone’s view, it was four floors beneath the ground. It was described as the devil’s home; it had minimum guards to avert attention to the portal within and is only visited in the earliest hours of the morning on founder’s day. Aurora laughed and said; ‘I am sorry, I didn’t mean to cause any envy on, besides you didn’t actual walk down because the lift is functioning’. Ini replied; ‘I think I’ll prefer being able to get to anywhere in seconds’. They both laughed as others trooped in.

As per custom, everyone is expected to share their knowledge on the universe history before combat training, as this will aid to inculcate the knowledge that is needed to be passed on and King Sosa and Olamide saw to that. Every royal underwent this training and until a successor was chosen and a new generation formed.

Aurora was properly adorned as she wore a dress made of the best silk, hand stitched with precious gems, delicately accentuating her shapely body. Her skin were of bronze like and her burgundy hair with a silk like texture that could be considered the eighth wonder tied up, with a curly strand left to bounce on her face. After being satisfied with her appearance she left for the ballroom. As she arrived, the room was filled with beings and creatures of caliber, dressed in the best of their apparel chanting, laughing and engaging in playful conversation. Striding down the stairs, she grabbed everyone’s attention as she was a rare gem, her sight as marvelous as that of Aurora Biase, even the Iris were disturbed by their inability to fully capture her beauty. However, the only thing more captivating than her looks was her character out, second to none except in her position as a daughter. Never had a maiden been made this perfect, vibrant like a light beam reflected from the moon, jealous of the sun in a purple night, as beautiful as a bed of roses hanging on a bill board of awe. Aurora showed no concern as to the attention she was getting, as that seemed like a common occurrence. She saw her beauty as a blessing and a curse. All she ever wanted was to experience the sort of genuine love her parents shared every day. Getting to the last stair, she met her bestie, ‘You almost blinded us’, Hephzibah said. ‘Are you sure you weren’t switched at birth?’ They both laughed and Aurora said; ‘Well, I am royalty due to my mother’s lineage but I don’t really care for it ’, How much have I missed?’ she asked. ‘Just right in the time for your speech, you are up next after this boring old performance by the giants’, Hephzibah replied laughing. Why do I have to be the one to give this speech, I am the fourth in line to the title, she thought, not so long after, she was called on stage. With the stage light on her, Aurora glowed even more as she captured the attention of her audience. She was known to be resilient, a force to be reckoned with, a great advocate for injustice and sustainability. She was adored by everyone she came across. She got a standing ovation for the speech she just delivered, giving more reasons as to why she should be worshipped.

Getting off the stage and going to getting a drink at the wine spot, her father approached her with a beam on his face, showing how proud he was of her and said; ‘that was a great speech Aurora, it couldn’t have gone any better’, she replied; ‘Thanks Father but I am still not interested in taking over from you’, she knew these tactics. ‘But why don’t you want to Aurora? You possess the most gift, adored by everyone, there’s no one better in the universe, the best person to take on this responsibility’, he replied, showing his innermost intention. ‘And I never asked for any of that Father, I just want to experience the universe and share my story to my kids just like you did’, she responded. Ever since she grew into her powers, Olamide had been grooming Aurora to take over from him but she had been adamant as she believed Kingsley being the first born was the rightful heir to the universe. Ever since she could remember, she had dreamt of seeing the other four universes and experiencing a great love story and she knew with this responsibility, none of her desires could be possible.  ‘Aurora, just give it a thought, you could see reason as to why just as everyone does’, he said calmly and left, as he knew being forceful wasn’t going to work on her. Aurora understood her father’s concern but she had her happiness to look out for, moreover it doesn’t seem fair to her, for her Father to skip all three children and hand over the title to her, she loved her siblings so much and didn’t want anything to come between them. She was aware how hard Kingsley toiled because of his birthright; she knew it wasn’t right to snatch it away from him. Being the most gifted had its demerits; she knew she didn’t have to take the title to utilize her potential. Seeing how the party was gradually dying, she stepped out to the private garden to receive and stared at the sky, after which she teleported herself to her Father’s library, which is her second favorite space in her universe as she gets to read and learn more about the other universes.
