Dalia’s POV.
“Are you okay?” The makeup artist asked after putting something heavy on my eyelids.I blinked hard to test it. “It’s kind of heavy. Remove it..”She immediately complied. The phone beside me beeped and vibrated. “Can you give me that?” I asked the woman and she handed the phone to me. I scrolled down my notification message. It was something from Instagram.Emily has managed to download this crazy app on my phone even when I told her not to. I clicked on the swirling pink app. Out of curiosity, I clicked to watch reels. Every video was from that night.Emily narrowed it down to me.. huh? I frowned at the comments. It was the usual.“She isn’t worth it Eros! I love you! @bestfan“Where did she come from, a wise gold digger...@wisdomwhore”“I am sure that baby isn’t Eros’”“I am pregnant for you, Eros!”The comments were endless.“I don’t think you should be looking at that on your wedding day,” The woman kindly beamed at me.Dalia’s POVMy mouth was engulfed in a warm kiss from Eros. I didn't have the time to appreciate his handsome look. He was always handsome and ravishing to me. From the corner of my eyes, I caught Nick’s angry glare.I knew he was angry because he had walked into my dressing room a few minutes after I put on my dress. I have always asked myself how Nick managed to get into places where people aren’t allowed but now I know why.He is a dangerous man. I haven’t seen Eros’ best friend in a while and I am glad I didn’t see her around. In her own way, she has warned me to stay away from Eros and the fact that Eros is trying to use me.I know he is using me but I choose to stay. He chose me over her.But Nick.. He demanded to know why I was doing this in the presence of everybody. He slapped my hands away from whatever I wanted to pick just to distract myself from his rantings. He has become feral..I guess what I told him that night at the hotel didn’t sink in
Dalia’s POV.“Emily, what was that?” I asked while darting my eyes here and there. I will soon be whisked away by Eros. We were going to the West family mansion before going home. Three years top. That is if we don’t get fed up with each other and drop the act in 6 months. “You practically zoned out during your speech. What is it? Does Hera have something on you?”She shrugged. “She has nothing against me. I just needed her help with something and got something else instead.” Then she leaned closer and I suspected she was about to tell me a big secret. From my angle, I could see my father discussing with Eros. Half of me was rather dying to hear what they have been discussing for a long time than to listen to Emily’s big secret. “I think Hera West is going to help me get my revenge on Vanessa Dave,”Oh... that was the big secret? She pulled away, sighing when she saw my quizzical look. “I know I sound crazy right now. Even Chris doesn’t want me to go after her. Heaven is trying to sto
Emily’s Pov.If Dalia noticed, it means everyone noticed too- The way I stared at Hera West. I really want to tell Dalia my feelings but something else came out. It was better to tell her of the revenge which has been placed on hold. There isn’t going to be any revenge because the only person I could hope to get information from is tugging on my heart strings. This feeling is totally new to me. I can’t say if I like it or not. My parents were strong Catholics. They would turn in their graves when they hear of this. The disgust on Dalia’s face was enough to keep my mouth shut. Maybe it would pass away like the others. I want it to because Hera West isn’t someone to be messed around with.I balled my fist as if that would crush the feelings away. Every one of our meetings had been an awkward one. Either I spilled my drink or I nearly tripped on her. I could never tell her the main reason I looked for her because we always ended up staring at each other.“Emily, get a grip of yourself...
Eros POVThe wedding party was finally over as I could see the guests making their way to their various vehicles. I was about to search for Dalia so we could go home but Mr. Thompson stopped me halfway. There was no way I could ignore my father-in-law in public. So I stayed back.“You tied the knot with my daughter, I am happy now.” He gave me a small smile and I nodded in agreement. I tied the knot in bed… jeez. I refused to let my embarrassment show. How am I supposed to face him? Our relationship hasn’t been perfect from the start. He has seen my family flaws and I have seen his. I may not know much about him but from the little I have seen, he loves his daughter so much. It was in his small gestures and the way he gazed softly when he thought she wasn’t looking. It was cute. However, I don’t wish for him to associate with my family. They may look like they’ve gotten past the conflict stage but I still don’t like the fact that he was quickly accepted after one night. Steve hasn’t b
As I glared at the mirror, I found out how much damage I had inflicted on my opponent. He must look much worse than I am. My left eye was nearly closed with reddish rims around its soft skin. There was a bruise here and there down to my neck line.I don’t feel pain. I can’t even remember what happened. I must have blacked out from blind rage. After all, what I saw was red. How am I to appear in front of my parents looking like I’ve just been run down by a bus?Someone stood beside me. “Where is she?”“Being rushed to the hospital. Are you sure you don’t need anything boss?” He asked in a neutral tone but I know he was just as worried as I was.I glanced at my reflection again. Until I hear she has regained consciousness and the baby is safe, I’ll attend to myself. “Any bad news?” he knows what I am talking about. I don’t need to mention her name for him to know that I was talking about her.His reply was curt. “She is fine,”“Make sure he doesn’t have his phone on him or leave the hos
Eros POV"You ditched me," I teased mercilessly as soon as I picked the call. Her surprised gasp showed me she was playing along. I didn't see her at the wedding but I knew she was there somehow."I had to take Mrs. Lacoste away. She was asking too many questions." She sighed in exasperation."You didn't want me to know all about that, right? Tell me something. When did you have a brewery company under your name?" It long piqued my interest and I wasn't going to let her off the hook just like that."I do now. She is actually interested in my business. Unlike someone I know." I could hear the smile in her voice.I rolled my eyes, aware she can't see me. "I don't want to ask because I can't picture you behind a desk.. just do what you can to get your inheritance back. I don't want to see you working your ass out when your father can make things fall in place for you.""That's rich coming from you. You worked your ass out to get to where you are."Maybe she is right. Maybe I worked my as
Dalia's POV I can hear a baby crying… it sounds like my baby. Wait, how do I know how my baby sounds? I haven't given birth to the one I carry. What is happening?! Suddenly, the baby stopped crying. I smiled at the silence in my head. It was so calm. Then the pain started. It came like a thunderbolt from my head down to my abdomen. It was excruciating and unbearable. "She is about to go into premature labor! Someone get the doctor!" That sounds like Emily. What is she doing here? She doesn't sound happy. Everyone around me sounds distressed. "Stay with me, Dalia. The baby will be fine.. just stay with us." I can see the darkness getting closer to me. I can't take it anymore. I can't fight it because they were mere shadows. It enveloped me before I could scream. ………………………………………………………………… "Em?" I tried to call but it came out hoarse. My throat felt scratchy. I felt the cold body of a glass c
Dalia's POv A week later, "Can you raise your hands?" I did as Dr. Ryan requested. I think I am going to be discharged today. Beside me sat Eros and Emily. They all had expectant looks on their faces. They all wanted me to go home. "You are good to go. Don't hesitate to alert us if you feel pain anywhere. Eros won't let me off the hook.." Dr. Ryan trailed with a nervous smile. All these while he was avoiding Eros' intense gaze. Now I see the bruises clearly. He has been hiding his face from me under dark sunglasses. Apparently, the dimmed lights were for him and not for me. I saw it a day after the first visit. Now he is putting on another dark shade. Jeez… it's unsettling to see him under that shade. What the hell happened to his eyes? Emily has refused to tell me no matter how I whined. "You know, you could ask instead of staring." I turned to find Eros obviously glaring at me from under there. Is there som
