Accused Betrayed But Never Broken

"Vic is a sick freak! He should be put to death! My Chloe just turned eighteen, and he raped her!"

Brenda Jenkins's scream pierced the air of the Pack Council courtroom.

She glared at me viciously. Her eyes burned with pure hatred, like she wanted to skin me alive and tear me to shreds.

Beside her, her niece Chloe whimpered softly. Tears streamed down her face. Her eyes were full of hurt and terror.

"Vic said if I didn't take my clothes off, he'd snap my neck..." Chloe's voice shook violently. "I was terrified... His Alpha strength was too much. I couldn't fight him off..."

I watched this circus with cold eyes. I just repeated the same thing.

"I didn't rape Chloe. It's literally impossible for me to do that."

Before today, I never thought Brenda and I would face off in court like mortal enemies.

Just three days ago, this same sobbing woman was grinning and toasting me at the gala. She told me to come to her if I needed anything. When she found out I was single, her smile grew even wider.

She instantly started pushing her niece Chloe on me, praising her non-stop. She even claimed our meeting was the Moon Goddess's will.

At the time, I just nodded politely. I didn't even give the so-called niece a second glance.

Looking back, that was their first move.

After the party, I had just gotten back to my hotel suite when someone pounded on my door.

Brenda stood there dragging a disheveled Chloe. A crazy fire burned in Brenda's eyes.

"Vic! What did you do to my niece, you beast?!"

No matter how I tried to explain, they clamped down on me like wolves on prey. I knew right then they were acting. Funny enough, they actually thought this cheap stunt would scare me.

"One million dollars!" Brenda hissed. "Pay us a million and take my niece as your mate, or tomorrow the whole world will know Sterling Corp's COO is a rapist!"

I only said one word: "Leave."

Then I shut the door.

I never expected them to drag this to the Pack Council court. When I denied everything, Brenda lost it.

"Look at my poor niece!" Brenda suddenly ripped open Chloe's jacket. Nasty bruises covered her pale skin. "That beast Vic did this!"

Chloe looked at me, shaking, eyes full of tears. "Vic, you did this. You threatened me. You said you'd snap my neck if I didn't strip. I was so scared."

Brenda pulled Chloe into her arms. The two of them broke down crying right there in the courtroom.

Meanwhile, as the so-called attacker, I kept a straight face.

Was this their entire play? A few bruises and some lies?

"Your Honor," I said calmly. "Can you convict me on a few marks and some empty claims? The pack's justice system should be tighter than this."

My calm only made the gallery madder.

"Shameless! He did something this evil and still denies it!"

"Look at how arrogant he is. He's used to abusing his power."

"Poor Chloe. So young to go through this. She'll be traumatized for life!"
