Chapter 64 – Aching For Alex

(Leigh’s POV)

“You want to come inside?”

I asked George when she stopped the car in front of our house. I heaved a deep sigh, finding it weird to come home without Alex with me, but I had to put in mind that in a few days, all these dramas would come to an end, and I will be coming home alone. That is, if my family would still want to see me after all our lies.

She offered to drive for me when I told her yesterday that I would return home because of Hannah’s birthday.

“Are you sure you don’t want to come?” I asked her again before going out of the car.

“Yeah! I have work, too,” she answered, glancing at her smartphone. “Are you sure you have no message for the boss?”

Despite explaining yesterday that we all had it wrong about him and Zyra, I was still hurt that he lied to Zyra. It was like cheating on both of us, to her for saying I was a client, and I felt like a third party in their relationship, not the wife.

I heaved a heavy sigh, wanting to breathe in this confusing relationship.
