Chapter 6: Chapter Six: Turning Waste into Treasure

"Feather, Brother Feather! We're here!"

With just two seconds left of the ten minutes Murphy Bessemer had demanded, a slender and effeminate young man finally arrived at the Xia family villa, panting heavily. While catching his breath, he asked, "Brother Feather, which one needs the styling?"

He was curious to see what kind of person could make the movie star request his personal service.

Murphy Bessemer pointed disdainfully at the small bundle in Channing Bessemer's arms. "What? A baby?" Chu Ning rubbed his eyes in disbelief. Could it be that this child...

Murphy Bessemer, knowing what his friend was thinking, explained in a low voice, "She's supposedly my sister."

Supposedly?

Chu Ning swallowed hard. This is what high society is like... Don't leave, or you'll end up with another sister!

Seeing the little bundle pout cutely, Channing Bessemer smiled lightly and said, "Legally speaking, she has the same inheritance rights as we do, making her our sister."

Murphy Bessemer raised an eyebrow, signaling Chu Ning to get started. Being in the same room with such a messy little bundle was really testing his patience.

Chu Ning nodded helplessly. Indeed, he was dealing with a perfectionist. If he didn't make this little bundle look good today, he might not be able to leave the Xia family's door.

Thinking this, he urged his team to set up a temporary styling station and then began examining Gemma Bessemer. The little girl's skin was soft and fair, like a peeled egg. Her big, round eyes sparkled like they were studded with diamonds, and her black, curly eyelashes made her look like a doll.

When Murphy Bessemer looked over, he saw the originally plain little bundle transformed into a completely new look by Chu Ning's skilled hands. Her chubby, cute face was even more delicate under the bangs, and the two small buns on top of her head made her look even more adorable. Her dirty clothes had been replaced with a light yellow princess dress, making her look even fairer.

"Am I pretty, An'an~" Gemma Bessemer lifted her skirt and twirled around.

Murphy Bessemer reluctantly tore his gaze away from her tiny feet, "The metal buckle on the shoes doesn't match the overall look."

But it was a good thing he rarely came home, so he wouldn't have to endure this mental torture often.

Just as he and Chu Ning were arguing over the small metal buckle, Gemma Bessemer was snuggled in Channing Bessemer's arms, drinking yogurt and watching the show, when she heard her fourth brother's familiar loud voice behind her.

"Woah! My sister is so cute~ Just like a princess!"

Winfred Bessemer's eyes lit up, and he lunged forward like a hungry wolf, only to find nothing. He turned his head and saw that Frederic Bessemer, who was walking behind him, had beaten him to it.

Winfred Bessemer was inwardly heartbroken but had to submit to his father's authority, awkwardly retracting his arm.

Frederic Bessemer pinched the little bundle's soft cheek and gave Murphy Bessemer a brief glance, "From now on, you're responsible for her styling. If you disgrace the Xia family, you don't need to be a star anymore; come back and take over the business."

"Dad, I... I understand," Murphy Bessemer said, looking at the little bundle with hopeful eyes, and had to agree.

"And, take a family photo this weekend," Frederic Bessemer added.

Everyone was taken aback. This was an acknowledgment that the little bundle was part of the Xia family!

Winfred Bessemer, who lost the chance to pinch his sister's cheek, lay half-dead on the sofa, "A family photo? Dad, Edmund is nowhere to be seen. Let's see if anyone can get him out of his room first."

Hearing this, Gemma Bessemer turned to look at the crystal ornament on the wooden stand and smirked. It was time to reveal the true identity of the guy hiding in the corner!

After dinner, Frederic Bessemer gave Gemma Bessemer a tablet and let her play on the bed while he continued with his work. Gemma Bessemer obediently leaned against the big pillow, ready to play a fun game of Snake, but as soon as she opened the game, she started to doze off.

She had spent the whole day either clinging to someone or on her way to cling to someone. She was too tired.

Frederic Bessemer waited for a while, but the little clingy one didn't come. Frowning, he turned around and found her curled up on the pillow, fast asleep. Her little hand still held the tablet, and her pink, cherry-like lips were slightly open, breathing softly.

Frederic Bessemer quietly approached the bed, carefully adjusting the little bundle's sleeping position.

"Daddy, hold me~"

In her sleep, Gemma Bessemer rubbed her face against the cool fingers and mumbled.

"Even when asleep, she's so clingy. What a bother," Frederic Bessemer said, taking off his coat and lying down next to the little bundle. Just for a little while.

When Gemma Bessemer woke up, she found Frederic Bessemer sound asleep. She carefully moved her little body, tiptoed to the door, and went downstairs. The fish should be almost hooked.

Gemma Bessemer hid in the corner near the wooden stand, watching the hidden door not far away. Soon, the door opened from the inside.

Through the crack, Gemma Bessemer saw a thin, bespectacled young man. Her eyes lit up; this must be her Edmund, Edmund Bessemer.

Edmund Bessemer glanced around the living room, confirming no one was there, and quickly walked to the wooden stand. Four hours ago, the camera he had installed in the living room suddenly went dark.

Looking at the pink sock covering the camera, Edmund Bessemer was speechless. He was just about to pick it up when the lights in the living room suddenly turned on.

Edmund Bessemer instinctively covered his eyes and took a step back.

Gemma Bessemer hid the gleam in her eyes and feigned surprise, "Oh? You must be the elusive Edmund Winfred mentioned~"

Seeing the young man didn't speak, she continued, "Edmund, thank you for helping me take off the stinky socks~ I'm not tall enough."

Edmund Bessemer's mouth twitched. Not tall enough, then how did she put them there?

He knew it was the little bundle's doing and sensed she wasn't as innocent as she appeared, but he wasn't interested in exposing her. As he was about to leave, he felt his sleeve being tugged.

Edmund Bessemer looked down at Gemma Bessemer, frowning in displeasure, and coldly said, "You, go."
