“Look, Julia.” Damien took my hands into his, “I am here now. We are all with you. Say your truth. Expose this man—”

The crowd fell into silence as my hand collided with Damien’s cheek, then another and another.

He raised his hand and I flinched away only to freeze when I couldn’t feel an impact. I opened my eyes to see Atlas holding Damien’s hand and crushing it under his grip.

“How. Dare. You?” Atlas gritted. “How dare you even think of hitting my wife?”

Damien’s eyes widened as he realized where he was. “I…” he glanced at the crowd. “This is not the truth. I—”

“This is the entire truth. This is his real face.” I spat, stepping forward. “He wears a pretty suit, has a soft tongue, and is so attention and perfect.” My heart twisted in my chest as I recalled how he fooled and used me.

“Damien is every woman’s dream, until his mask falls off,” My breath hitched. “And then you see someone else, something devastatingly dark.”
