One week later.

Atlas’ hand lingered in my wet hair, loosening knots as I soaked in the bathtub.

“Do you like the scent?” he asked, but I didn’t respond.

I stopped responding for the past few days. The storm outside didn’t faze me, it had been going on for a week, and Atlas? He stayed by my side.

I thought my silence would frustrate him to leave, he deserved more than chasing after someone like… me.

Tears stung my eyes and I held back a sob, no matter how many sweet nothings Atlas’ murmured, the reality was clear as day — I had become a burden to him.

Yet he… he was acting like this was normal?

Atlas dried my hair and led me out of the tub, wrapping a towel around me.
