Chapter 50: I'll Help You

Bryce didn’t say a word. He just couldn’t find any to utter out.

He just sat there, completely mesmerized, watching Kimberly laugh so openly, and so wholeheartedly, as if all the troubles and worries in her life had been taken away.

It stunned him.

It was the first time he’d ever seen her laugh like that. Unguarded and radiant, almost carefree. For a split second, she wasn’t the cautious, collected Kimberly he had gotten used to. She was just… a woman caught in a moment of joy.

There was flour dusted across her left cheek, a little smear of white on her jawline, like war paint from her battle with the frying pan earlier in the kitchen.

Her brown hair was loose and messy, strands falling everywhere in that infuriatingly perfect way. She looked nothing like the elegant, well-put-together Kimberly she always fought to present to the world.

And yet, somehow, she was even more beautiful this way. Real. Alive, and utterly hot as hell.

Damn.

Something ticked inside him. A dangerous awarenes
