Chapter 2

Penulis: Bagel
In my last life, faced with his threats, I had only given Iris a mild warning to preserve our mate bond.

But even so, Liam still held a grudge against me.

I can still remember the disgust in his amber eyes when I lost all my power and was sent to the rival pack:

"Selene, I've had enough of your arrogance and malice."

"Your banishment is for the good of the pack, and it is no less than you deserve."

Recalling those words, my wolf snarled with pure rage.

I let out a soft laugh, my eyes glowing with a silver light in the moonlight.

"You want me to restore her? She was a gray wolf to begin with!"

I tilted my head, my voice dripping with scorn. "And who do you think you are to order me around?"

Liam recoiled as if struck, his face contorting with shock and anger.

"Selene, have you lost your mind? We're marked mates! How can you speak to me this way?"

"Your bloodline may be noble, but with such barbaric behavior and wicked methods, how will you ever earn the pack's trust? How can you be a proper mate?"

"I am the daughter of the Alpha, heiress to the most honored bloodline in the Silvermane Pack. And she," I pointed at Iris, "is nothing but a mongrel who stinks of rogue filth."

"She stole the potion and faked being a white wolf. Now that I've shown you the truth, you dare to blame me?"

Without looking at Liam, I gestured, and my guards forced him to the ground.

He glared at me, his inner wolf struggling to break free in his eyes.

I could feel the turmoil in Liam's heart; he had already considered severing our mate bond.

The excruciating pain of his rejection washed over me through the bond, but my silver wolf bloodline allowed me to endure it.

Besides, this pain was nothing in comparison to the daily torture I suffered in the dungeons in my past life.

I stepped on his shoulder, the boots of my Silvermoon armor pressing down, forcing him to bow.

Liam's body began to swell, his muscles tensing.

"Liam, being my mate is your honor. Don't forget your place."

I pulled a silver dagger from a guard's belt, its blade gleaming coldly.

"You think I'm making a scene? Fine. Then let's speak the language of pack law."

"Stealing an Alpha's sacred artifact is treason," I announced, "Today, I will shatter her wolf spirit and cast her out as a rogue. She will be exiled, forever cut off from the pack. Does anyone object?"

Silence fell over the crowd.

Faced with the crime of treason, no one dared to plead for her.

Iris's face turned white as a sheet. "No... No, I didn't... I just wanted to..."

"The evidence is irrefutable. Do you still dare to deny it?"

I raised the dagger, the tip of the blade aimed at her heart.

I could feel the potion's power still flowing within her, a desecration of its sacred aura.

Just as the dagger was about to descend, a silver arrow shot through the air.

Its tip struck the blade with perfect accuracy, and the force knocked the dagger from my hand.

The arrowhead grazed the back of my hand. The burning sting of silver instantly broke my skin, and blood dripped onto the stones below.

"Stop!"

A familiar voice thundered, laced with the authority of the future Alpha.

It was my brother, Adrian.

He strode forward, the silver bow in his hand still trembling, its arrowhead stained with my blood.

"Brother, what do you think you're doing?"

I demanded, fighting through the pain as cold sweat beaded on my brow.

Adrian came to stand before me, his voice as cold as ice:

"I should be asking you the same thing. Today is your transformation ceremony, the most important day of your life, and what are you doing? Making a scene?"

"You're a disgrace to our Alpha family!"

The wolf inside me erupted in fury.

Growing up, not even our father had dared to lay a finger on me, yet my own brother had just wounded me for a lowly rogue.

If that arrow had been off by a fraction of an inch, my hand would have been crippled.

I squeezed my mother's hand, the rage in my silver wolf bloodline boiling."What exactly happened? How could Father die so suddenly?"My mother turned her head away, her Luna's presence trembling. "Perhaps the wolfsbane poisoning was too deep."I suppressed my wolf and immediately denied it. "Impossible! The toxins in Father's system were clearly clearing up!"My mother stammered, her eyes darting away.I asked her directly, "It was Adrian, wasn't it?"Seeing her body jolt, I knew it was the answer."How could he! Father doted on him since he was a pup. How could he commit such a heinous act!""Mother, tell me the truth!"My mother lowered her head in pain. She had always been calm and composed. This was one of the few times I had seen her lose control."It's too late now. There's nothing we can do."I stood up, no longer able to control myself. "What do you mean, nothing! Father will not have died in vain! Adrian is no longer worthy of his title! I will avenge our father!"My mother

Half a month later, wearing my silver battle armor, I bid farewell to my father and mother and embarked on the "marriage alliance" journey.I shifted into my silver wolf form, accompanied by a few elite warriors disguised as guards.Just as we left Silvermane territory, a dark shadow leaped from the woods. It was Cole, his black wolf form striking against the moonlight."Lady Selene, on the Alpha's orders, I am to lead a hundred elite warriors to protect you in secret.""We will proceed according to your plan."I nodded my wolf head, a warmth spreading through my heart.Cole was not only a powerful and reliable wolf warrior, but also Faye's brother, so I trusted him completely.Father had not truly sent me into danger alone.Three days later, we entered the territory of the Rogue Pack. The place was littered with crude dens built from the bones of giant beasts. The air was thick with the stench of rotting flesh and blood. The Rogue chieftain's den sat in the center, built entirely of w

Two weeks later, envoys from the Rogue Pack set foot in Silvermane territory. This group of rogues had repeatedly violated our borders, terrorizing the packs living on our borders. They reeked of wildness and blood, a nauseating stench. Our pack had suppressed them countless times. This time, we heard it was the son of the Rogue chieftain, coming with lavish gifts to ask for a truce.Adrian and the elders had already gone to receive them.By evening, the news came: the Rogue Pack's condition for a truce was a political marriage between the two packs.According to the reports, a scar-faced envoy had lifted his head, a ghastly smile on his face, and said:"We want the noblest daughter of the Silvermane Pack.""Let her marry the heir of our chieftain to solidify the peace between our packs."The news agitated the warriors around me, their wolves snarling just beneath the surface."The Rogue Pack is the most savage! Those rogues have no humanity! The wolves we sent for past alliances were

"What?!"This time, even Father's wolf spirit wavered.I instantly understood why she had been so fearless. So this was her trump card. The pup of a future Alpha was indeed a powerful shield."Adrian!" Father's golden eyes blazed with fury."Is this true?"I watched Adrian's shocked face. Judging by his confused expression, he must have just found out as well."Father... I...""Speak!" Father roared.Adrian's wolf trembled, but he still nodded. "Father, Iris carries your bloodline in her womb. How can you bear to kill her?"Iris immediately broke into a triumphant smile, stroking her still-flat stomach."That's right. I carry the bloodline of the future Alpha.""According to pack law, no one can harm an Alpha's offspring!"In the end, Iris escaped death.Iris was moved into Adrian's residence.Due to her lowly status and becoming pregnant before completing a mate bond, my father refused to grant her the standing of a formal mate.A shadow fell over Iris's face. But she quickly recover

"Selene, how could you strike your brother?"Father's voice thundered, and his powerful Alpha aura descended upon us.I lowered my head as tears fell. My silver wolf churned within me.It wasn't fear, but a crushing sense of injustice."Father, it was self-defense!""Adrian was about to hit me without even trying to find out what happened. My wolf reacted instinctively. I didn't mean to use so much force."Father's golden eyes glinted in the moonlight, the Alpha's wrath making the air heavy.Adrian pointed at Liam and Iris, his body trembling, likely from agitation."Everyone saw it! She was bullying Iris first. She uses her Alpha bloodline to throw her weight around.""I was only trying to discipline her in your place! And she dared to attack me with her wolf's power!"The golden stag was indeed lying dead next to the trap I had set.The arrow Cole had shot was still embedded in Iris's leg, bleeding profusely.Father's gaze swept the scene, finally settling on me. "Selene, is that wha

Without Iris around, life was exceptionally pleasant. In the blink of an eye, it was the day of the pack's annual Grand Hunt. The horns echoed throughout the territory, signaling the start of the Silvermane Pack's most celebrated tradition. My father, Adrian, and I, along with the elders, arrived in the deep forests of the Silvermane lands. All the young warriors had gathered, their eyes gleaming with excitement."This year's hunt is special," Father said, his eyes sweeping over the crowd."Scouts have reported a rare golden stag in the deep woods."The assembled wolves gasped in amazement. The golden stag was a messenger of the Moon Goddess, a creature seen only once a century."Whoever captures it will receive this," Father said, holding up a shimmering medal."The Alpha's Medal!" someone breathed."With this medal, you can make one request of the Alpha. Any request at all."The grounds erupted in a frenzy.I, too, was thrilled, not for the medal, because my father already favored me
