Chapter 2: Transformed

After he finished breakfast, he went to his room again. Unlike before, when he would stare outside waiting for the sun to hide, this time he went over the pile of clothes. Taking everything from the closet to the bed, he checks all the clothes one by one.

Due to a lack of money, Davi had no way to dress better so even if his looks can compare to a celebrity his sense of fashion and obviously old clothes made some of his pursuers think twice.

He searched for a fashion blog and fashion tutorials. Based on what he heard from the fashion guru, he tossed the gloomy-looking color and kept the happy colors. He took out the card that was given to him before, this card had an unlimited amount and can be used for his needs.

But he could never use it to pay his father’s debt and obviously not for the divorce fee!

He remembered what the butler said when giving the card to him, “People married to the Noah's should not look shabby.” Then this card was pushed to him. It was the night of their wedding.

Liam never had touched him. Instead of calling them a married couple, they befit the term board mates or flatmates. Strangers living under the same roof.

Searching on the internet, he bought shoes and a few clothes which amount to nothing if one compares them to the vast richest of the Noah.

On the other side, Liam was in the middle of a heated meeting with the executives, and the project that the company invested in received multiple backslashes in a month. This was the same project that Niel was handling.

One of the executives was presenting the latest update on the project. His back was sweating like beads and he constantly wiped his wide forehead.

Ding!

It was loud. The heavy atmosphere heightened and everyone moved their eyes looking for the stupid person who forgot to turn off their cell phone!

Ding!

Ding!

Ding!

One notification came after another and sometimes overlapped each other. When Liam took his cell phone to see, everyone heaved a sigh of relief. Turns out it was the President that they called stupid in their mind.

It was a good thing not to voice out opinions hastily. It saves lives!

[BankXX: You have successfully paid $600….]

[BankXX: You have successfully paid $1500…]

[BankXX: You have successfully paid $1200…]

All the notifications had the same message, he successfully paid, what he paid for, and how much he had paid were shown in the message.

His brow raised, followed by a slow tapping of his long-muscled fingers on the table.

Everyone held their breath. Based on the President's expression, the message was sure to be another problem! But what came next was an amused laughter mixed with unexplainable emotions in his eyes.

Liam locked his screen and gestured for the presenter to continue but before the presenter could speak, another series of notifications sounded again. He was already distracted and couldn't turn his phone off even for a second.

“Resume after thirty minutes break.”

Everyone dispersed like they were running for their life but Niel strode towards him and remarked, "Postponing a meeting for a whore? heh! Pathetic."

Acting like he did not hear Niel, Liam called the house butler. Today, that little omega seems to eat more vitamins than he was prescribed and he was full of energy to even dine with them. Niel naturally left after being ignored.

“Young master.”

The other line connected and like it was a habit, the butler continued, “Today, the madam ate with two servings and requested crab porridge before he happily went back to his room.”

Picking up the uncommon word, Liam repeated, “Happily?”

“Yes, young master. The madam also said… ah, he said that… cough, Let the games begin.” The butler paused then opened his mouth but decided not to say anymore. Today’s madam was different from yesterday's.

“This little demon,” Liam murmured. He pinched the flesh in between his eyes and chuckled like he just found the most amusing thing in the world. “Thank you, Uncle Bert. I’ll have dinner in the house tonight.”

The butler was the same butler that served his father and mother, he was there before Liam was born and so, Uncle Bert was like a family to him. Today, the little demon gave him things to look forward to.

He can’t wait to see the omega's little tricks.

Boxes after boxes were delivered to the mansion and Davi ran downstairs to receive the things he chose himself. He was amazed at how fast he changed from gloomy to carefree. Well, it was not a total makeover of oneself yet but at least… he was not thinking of negative things all the time compared to before.

Ten million was not a small amount for him so he needed to find ways to accumulate money and he decided to try his luck to find work. To find work, he needed to be presentable!

Though poor, he still manages to finish high school with the help of money he earned as a part-time worker. It was too good to be true when he received his diploma and it was also too good to be true when his father sold him on his graduation day.

After all, he just raised his value as someone who had an education.

After completing the change in outfits, it’s time to make his resume! He knew that he had a disadvantage in education but he’s a hard worker and he believes that’s what’s important for an employee!

When dinner time came, he went down again, humming as he walked down the stairs. Satisfied with what he had accomplished today.

Reaching half of the stairs, he saw a familiar and unfamiliar figure entering the house. As if a gust of wind pushed him, he hurriedly walked toward Liam, “Hey! You’re here…” He was grinning and his eyes showed great anticipation.

When Niel was still 'in love' with him, he said that Liam was his nemesis. The one hindering him to achieve the patriarch's position and Liam was currying the favor of the old patriarch by buying Davi from the loan shark.

Even if he hated Niel, he still believes that Liam was also hiding evil intentions. After all, the same blood flows in their veins.

Liam glanced at him, pursing his lips. It was the first time that Davi welcomed him home after the omega lived in the mansion. Whatever made the little omega demon change his character setting overnight was something he wanted to know.

It was amusing to see.

His long legs took one step at a time, and his muscled fingers loosened the silver-blue tie he was wearing while the omega walked side by side with him, arms behind his back, and hummed like he was waiting for the right time for the alpha to get distracted and then snap his neck.

“Crab soup?” Davi’s eyes widened seeing the food prepared on the table. The crab was his favorite but it was too expensive and he can only swallow his saliva when passing a restaurant before.

“Does the madam like it? I saw you finish your crab porridge this morning and thought you want more of it,” Uncle Bert said slowly and steadily, his gesture graceful and despite his older age he still looks strong enough to lift ten cows.

“I love it! Nice… mi-mister,” His voice was happy and suddenly faded not knowing what to address the butler. He had never had a chance to mingle with them or a chance to call out the butler.

“You can call me Uncle Bert, madam,” he smiled and bowed his head a little to show respect and to show familiarity. Liam on the other side had sat on the chair, folding his sleeves up and ready to eat.

The crab was one thing he hated.

“Then… then, you can call me Davi instead of Madam. I’m not a female and not even the legal spouse of this household. I was just bought by... no need to be-“

“No talking on the table.”

It was an icy tone that allowed no argument. When he came home, his aura was still fine but now he had ice all over his body!

“I have something to say-“

“No talking.”

“…”

Davi pouts his lips and fills the bowl in front of him with crab soup, putting more crabs in it and pushing it toward Liam, “It’s important…” bribing his identified enemy to succumb to his request. The right people to be on your side were the enemy of your enemy!

“Davi.”

It was icy and low, giving the listener a cold and hot feeling. Davi lowered his head and at an angle that Liam could not see, he pursed his lips and his hand trembled. So scary!

But he can't give up. In the first part of his plan, he needed help from Liam! How should I coax him to listen?!

The bowl with the crab soup was not touched, but though it was not touched it was not pushed back either.

The author has something to say:

Davi: How should I coax him to listen?!

Liam: No need. I'm already head over heels~~
