The pan crashed onto the floral carpet with a loud thud.

The adulterous pair froze and turned to look at her, tangled with the blanket and sweat, their eyes darting to the doorway. Their faces immediately went ashen seeing her standing there.

Isabelle clamped a her hand over her mouth, trembling as if her very bones had turned to ice. She could not mutter a single word and her gaze kept flickering from one face to the other.

She had seen and sensed the signs. It was very obvious, wasn’t it? But she had no idea why she had thought he just couldn’t keep boundaries with his ex and really wouldn’t cheat on her.

It was a very silly thought she had.

Gregory was the first to react. He scrambled off the bed, dragging a sheet across his waist. “Isabelle, it’s not what it looks like—”

Her gaze swept over him, his bare skin slick alongside his chest heaving, and then to Tiffany fumbling with the sheets, her face red as she tried to cover herself up. Isabelle’s lips curved into a laugh.

Riven's POVMidnight. The office was quiet, save for the faint hum of the air conditioning and the occasional shuffle of papers.Riven leaned back in his chair, pinching the bridge of his nose as the video call on his laptop finally ended. The screen went dark, and the silence that followed felt almost oppressive. He'd been in back-to-back meetings since morning. Conference calls with branch managers, and endless reports that needed his approval. This was the norm for every quarter of the year, and although necessary, it was very exhausting.A soft knock sounded at the door."Come in," Riven said, his voice low and tired. The door opened, and Julien stepped inside, holding a bottle of water."Thought you could use this," Julien said, walking over and setting it down on the desk.Riven took it without a word, unscrewing the cap and taking a long drink. The cool water was a small relief, but it did little to ease the fatigue settling into his bones. He set the bottle down and looked up

The car pulled up to the film set, and Sophia was the first to exit.Somehow, she seemed too embarrassed to stay any moment longer. Her assistant came from who knows where and rushed forward immediately, pulling her designer suitcase from the trunk while shuttling after her.Isabelle and Rina climbed out a moment later, dragging their own suitcases behind them.Near the entrance, Director Joe stood with Chris and Vincent, all three chatting casually as they waited. When Sophia approached, they acknowledged her with polite nods."Sophia," Director Joe said with a brief smile. "Good to see you.""Director," Sophia replied smoothly, her smile perfectly in place. She had quickly regained her composure, as expected of a B-list actress.Chris, ever the taciturn type, merely gave her a short nod. While Vincent, who was usually more animated, offered a quick wave but didn't engage further.Sophia's smile faltered slightly, but she recovered quickly and moved past them toward the set entranc

The two women stopped walking.Rina's eyes narrowed immediately. She frowned before looking toward Isabelle who still had a calm look on her face."Who knows what her intention is," she muttered suspiciously, her voice low. "Let's just pretend we didn't see her and go."Isabelle considered it for a moment, then shook her head."That's too obvious. It'll just make things awkward on set. Better to just say hi now and get it over with."Rina looked unconvinced but didn't argue. They continued walking forward at a normal pace, pulling their suitcases along.Sophia had already spotted them. Her face lit up with that classic mediator smile, not overly excited, but pleasantly jovial, as if running into them was the most delightful coincidence. She approached with easy confidence, her designer bag slung elegantly over one shoulder."Isabelle!" Sophia greeted warmly. "What perfect timing. The director sent a car to pick us up, so we can all go together."Isabelle and Rina exchanged a brief gla

A young child—maybe four or five years old—was crying, pushing away a plate of vegetables with dramatic, hiccupping sobs."I don't want it! I don't want it!"The parents looked frazzled, the mother trying to soothe the child while the father rubbed his temples in visible exhaustion."I'm so sorry," the mother said loudly, glancing around at the nearby tables with an apologetic grimace. "He's usually not like this—"Her gaze landed on Isabelle's table.More specifically, on Aimee. The little girl was sitting quietly, eating her pancakes with perfect composure, her posture neat and her expression calm. The woman's face softened immediately."Oh my goodness," she said, her voice warm as she smiled at Isabelle. "Your daughter is so well-behaved! How do you do it?"Isabelle froze. Her entire face went bright red.It was so conspicuous on her fair face that even the woman saw it, which she seemed to find rather funny, and she laughed."Oh," she grinned as she stared at Isabelle. "Looks like

Isabelle froze. Her brain short-circuited. Did he just— Did he say— "W-what?" Her voice came out as barely a whisper, her eyes wide as saucers. Riven didn't look away. His expression was calm, serious, but there was a warmth in his eyes that made her heart race even faster. "I like you," he repeated, slower this time, as if making sure she heard every word. "I like that Aimee is comfortable with you. I like that she smiles more now. I like that she comes to you when she needs something." He paused, his gaze intensifying. "I like that you're here.” Isabelle's breath caught in her throat. But gradually her heart which had almost flown out of her chest earlier slowly returned to its place. Although the pounding didn't stop and it felt so loud that she was certain he could hear it. Her face felt like it was on fire. "So stop overthinking," Riven continued, his tone gentle but firm. "You're not imposing. You're not taking anything away from me. If anything..." He leaned back

The diner Isabelle chose was tucked into a quiet corner of the neighborhood. It was just recently opened and they hadn't been there yet but it had a really classy and elegant decor. She still had her first half payment from the role as she barely had anything to spend it on and so she felt confident enough to strut into the restaurant. Moreover, since she said it was her treat, then she'd keep to her word.Warm yellow lights glowed softly through the windows of the diner, casting a gentle hue over the wooden tables and vintage décor inside. The smell of fresh coffee and baked goods wafted through the air the moment they stepped inside, mingling with the low hum of easy conversation and the occasional clink of dishes.A cheerful hostess greeted them at the entrance, her eyes lighting up when she saw Aimee who was dressed in a cute light yellow dress with a small bow on her head, making her look rather cute and kawaii."Table for three?" the waitress asked."Yes, please," Isabelle said
