Chapter 3

Author: Wedding Seven
The moment the words left his mouth, the entire hall erupted.

“What?! He paid someone to stand in for him at his own wedding?!”

“Oh my God, has Mason lost his mind? This is humiliating the Wills family in front of everyone!”

Exposed on the spot, William and Grace’s faces drained of all color.

My father’s anger finally exploded. He pointed straight at William and shouted, “Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. Treating my daughter’s wedding like some kind of joke.

“Have you no shame at all? Do you really think the Wills family has no one to stand up for her?!”

My mother’s eyes reddened with fury as she hurried onto the stage, pulling me protectively behind her. She looked at the Rivers family and said coldly, “This wedding is off. From this moment on, the Wills family has nothing to do with the Rivers family.”

Seeing the alliance about to collapse, Grace panicked.

“Yuna, Mason was just being immature. I’ll call him right now and have him come back to apologize to you.”

I let out a soft, mocking laugh. “Sure. I’ll give him one more chance. If you can reach him right now, I’ll pretend none of this ever happened.”

Beside me, Edwin’s grip on my hand tightened slightly. I leaned closer and murmured, “Don’t worry. He’s not coming back.”

Like someone clinging to her last lifeline, Grace frantically pulled out her phone and started dialing Mason’s number.

Once. Twice. Three times…

Each time, the same cold automated voice echoed from the receiver: “Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable.”

I lowered my gaze, feigning disappointment. “Looks like Mr. Rivers has no intention of coming back.

“Security. Please escort the unrelated parties out.”

William and Grace were quickly pulled away by security, while reporters surged forward, cameras flashing inches from their faces.

My mother held my hand tightly, asking no questions. “Yuna, whatever you decide, your father and I will support you.”

My father gave my shoulder a firm pat. Warmth surged through me, and for a moment, I nearly broke down.

A comment drifted across my vision.

[In the original story, Yuna insisted on marrying Mason, cut ties with her family, and in the end, he drove the Wills family into bankruptcy.

[Her parents aged overnight… and ended their life together. Seeing this now actually makes me want to cry.]

I lowered my head, hiding the emotion in my eyes. If they chose to be ruthless, then they couldn’t blame me for doing the same.

After the ceremony ended, I immediately called my executive assistant.

“Terminate all cooperation with the Rivers family at once and pull every dollar we’ve invested. Leave nothing behind.”

The news that I had swapped grooms on the spot and married Edwin didn’t spread right away.

The Rivers family suppressed it, trying to keep their stock from crashing.

The moment the wedding ended, Edwin and I rushed to get our marriage license. Right after, he said he had to go overseas for a few days.

Meanwhile, completely in the dark, Mason spent two carefree days at a villa on the outskirts of the city with Joyce before finally sensing something was off.

By now, I should’ve already made a scene and forced him to come back, but I hadn’t taken any action.

Mason absentmindedly scrolled through his phone, not even responding when Joyce called his name.

“This isn’t right. Yuna’s just playing hard to get,” he scoffed, tossing his phone aside.

Joyce tested the waters carefully. “Mason, do you think Yuna’s really upset? Maybe you should go back and smooth things over. It’s not worth offending the Wills family because of me…”

“Apologize to her? She’s not worth it.” Mason lifted her chin, his expression full of arrogance.

“She’s hopelessly in love with me. She can’t walk away from our twenty years of history.

“I’d bet in less than three days, she’ll come running back with funding, begging me to marry her. I’ve been too soft on her.”

Right then, a comment drifted across the screen.

[I’m dying. Does this guy even have a brain? He still doesn’t know the Wills family already pulled their investment. The Rivers Group is about to crash and burn.]

[Man, your whole house is on fire and you’re still sitting there feeling proud.]

Mason was sentenced to three years in prison for assaulting a pregnant woman in public. On the day the Rivers Group’s assets were auctioned off, Edwin secured the company headquarters with an unmatched, sky-high bid.He handed me the title deed as a gift.“For you. From now on, this will be the new headquarters of the Wills Group.”I looked at him, smiling as I slipped my arms around his neck. “Mr. Walker is certainly generous. Aren’t you worried I’ll run you into the ground?”He pulled me closer, his arm settling around my waist, his voice steady. “Everything I have is yours. Even my life.”A few months later, I gave birth to a healthy baby boy.On the day of his one-month celebration, the Wills and Walker families hosted a grand banquet. At the event, my father officially announced that the Wills Group would be fully entrusted to me.And Edwin, as chairman of the Walker Group, made his first public appearance. The room erupted. No one had expected that the unknown stand-in from befor

Mason dropped to his knees, sobbing as he begged for forgiveness.“I was blinded, I shouldn’t have listened to Joyce, I shouldn’t have humiliated you at the wedding… please, Yuna, just forgive me.“As long as you’re willing to have the Wills family reinvest and save the Rivers Group, save my dad, I’ll do anything you want!“I’ll make a public statement cutting ties with Joyce! I’ll marry you! I’ll spend the rest of my life making it up to you. Whatever you say, I’ll do it!”Looking at him now reduced to something so pitiful, stripped of all dignity, I felt nothing at all. Just a faint, distant amusement.[He wasn’t like this in the original story. When she begged him for mercy, he didn’t hesitate for a second.][That’s how guys like him are. The moment their own interests are at stake, the double standards kick in.]At that, my heart felt like it had been plunged into ice water—cold, aching.I spoke slowly, each word clear. “Mason, it’s too late.“The moment you chose to use my love to

Mason’s face flushed a deep, ugly red. He stared at me like he wanted to tear me apart with his eyes.I didn’t flinch. Leaning in close to his ear, I said quietly, “Mason, don’t forget, you still owe the Wills family a four-hundred-million bridge loan. It’s due next Monday. Make sure it’s paid.”With that, I didn’t spare him another glance. I turned smoothly, took Edwin’s hand, and walked away.Later, from the chatter in the comments, I learned what happened next.Mason and Joyce’s wedding was carried through to the end under a tense, almost surreal atmosphere. The moment it was over, Mason dragged Joyce off to find the so-called wealthy uncle she’d mentioned, a well-known investor in Southvale. However, the “uncle” turned out to be nothing more than a small-time loan shark running a shady lending outfit. He looked Mason up and down, blew out a ring of smoke, and said lazily, “Investment? Sure. But my interest rates are… a little steep.”The compounding terms were even worse than ille

Faced with a sea of cameras and a crowd buzzing with speculation, Mason was trapped. If anything went wrong with this wedding today, he would become the laughingstock of the entire city; there’d be no coming back from it.He clenched his jaw, looking at Joyce, his expression conflicted. But Joyce acted as if she hadn’t noticed a thing. She held onto his arm, smiling sweetly as she addressed the crowd.“Thank you all for coming to celebrate our wedding today. I know some of you might be wondering why the bride isn’t Yuna.”Her eyes reddened as she placed a hand over her flat stomach, her voice trembling with practiced emotion.“Because… I’m carrying Mason’s child. For the baby, and for our love, Yuna chose to step aside and let us be together.”Mason’s head snapped toward her, shock and suspicion flashing across his face.[He’s stunned again. Why does this guy crack me up every time?][He’s probably thinking, didn’t we take precautions every time? How could she be pregnant? What he does

On the day of the wedding, I chose a perfectly tailored black dress—elegant, understated, almost solemn.According to the spoilers scrolling in front of me, Joyce’s so-called “wealthy uncle” was actually a loan shark with ties to the underworld, and the child she claimed to be carrying wasn’t real either. This wedding was destined to be a battlefield.Edwin wore a suit in the same dark palette, his hand wrapped around mine as he accompanied me there.By the time we arrived, the venue was already packed, camera flashes going off nonstop.Mason stood at the end of the aisle in a white suit, a confident smile resting on his lips. The moment he saw me, that smile faltered, just for a second, before settling back into composure.[I’m dead. He really thinks she dressed like this just to throw a little tantrum at him.][He still expects her to give in? I can’t wait to see how this plays out. The plot’s completely gone off the rails in the best way.]The reporters swarmed us like sharks scenti

The comments burst with excitement: [Woohoo! There goes your wife!][Look at his face, he’s recognized the “stand-in” he hired. This is getting exciting. Is he about to chase his childhood sweetheart now?]The moment Mason got a clear look at him, his expression flipped. “Yuna, do you think I’m an idiot?”He jabbed a finger at Edwin. “Isn’t this the stand-in I paid twenty grand for? What, the act at the wedding wasn’t enough, so now you’ve dragged him along to keep playing house?”Joyce covered her mouth in mock surprise, though her eyes were full of contempt.“Yuna, how could you do this? Mason’s already overwhelmed with the company, yet instead of helping him, you hire someone to put on a show just to provoke him. That’s really childish.”She turned to Mason, gently patting his arm as if to soothe him.“Don’t be upset. She’s just too in love with you, that’s why she’s resorting to something so immature to get your attention.”Mason’s expression eased noticeably as he listened to her.
